The Chronicle Of Jawata (Compilation Trial Edition)
4.08. The Robed Human Terror (2)

The deep river, Lorr En's body as fast as the shadow sank into it leaving the originally calm water surface into ripples. And in the vestiges of the cloaked human vision, he only looked at the surging water trail for a moment and then regained his composure.

“Crrrk ... ck ... ckk ..!” the human voice of the robe rattled hoarsely, while stabbing the sword into the rock. The atmosphere was silent again in a gaze as wide as the river, there was still a speck of rain accompanied by thunderous thunder.

While it was not far away in another part of the forest, the same thing was happening to Taja. He was also desperately fighting against another robed human. On top of a horse's back darting into the dark middle of nowhere, the mysterious figure carried him there. The quietest place in the night darkness is even scarier when Taja realizes that she is being kidnapped by a strange black-robed human, carrying a foul smelling sword and a rattling sound rang out from his mouth and nose.

Bukkk!!

The black-robed man stopped his horse, then threw Taja's body to the ground. The next second, he descended from the horse's back while lifting the sword that had been grasped since.

“Kraaagh!” the robed man. He approached Taja who was falling on the muddy ground. Seeing the bad omen had been expected since the cloaked human grabbed him, Taja intended to stay away. But unfortunately, the agile movements of robed humans first reach it in the grip of sharp hoofed hands such as lion's nails and wrapped in iron sheaths.

“Hekkk!” Taja choked and then thrown again.

Bukk!

Debam violently followed the concurrent fall of Taja to the bushes, “Uh ...,” he moaned, while trying to rise with irregular breath.

Not enough Taja took a breath more, the cloaked man walked up to him again and clutched his neck multiple times harder. While in the right hand, a sword smelling foul stinging ready to finish Taja's life.

Both of Taja's eyeballs glanced wide at the shiny object. Feeling very desperate, Taja had to pull out sharp roots from his fingers, then quickly thrust them into the face of a cloaked man.

The robed man roared in pain, then his grip loosened but had yet to release Taja.

Kras .. kras .. kras !

Followed by Taja's fingers to the face of the man was tiled.

“Krraaagh .. Kraaagh ..!!!” the shrill screams of robed humans sounded extremely terrifying. Taja took a few steps back, strange to see the horrified sight before him. The figure was scattered, when exposed to the cloak covering his body. Taja was very surprised to see an even more terrifying sight.

A crumpled-skinned body full of bony protrusions, yellow eyes lit up and hissing sounds, screeching and then shrill.

Taja immediately hysterically saw that, completely not knowing what creature was in front of him now. Frightened, he immediately ran as fast as he could without knowing any direction. Breaking through the dark of night under the endless rain.

Bukk!!!

Taja bounced backwards after bumping into something unexpectedly already in front of him. This time, Taja's heart seemed to stop beating when he saw there was a figure no less creepy than the previous creature. In the pitch-black, faintly visible was another cloaked human, the largest in stature with a long object bouncing a dim light orange and smoky.

Taja slowly crawled backwards without stopping staring at the black figure, “No!” his voice was trembling with fear and coldness. It's free that he has to do what, this cloaked man is already a while in front, very close to the metal shoes he wore stepped on Taja's clothes.

Wush …!!!

The long thing swung towards Taja, "Tidaaak ...”

A slash!

A small glittering light in Taja's chest.

“Kraaagh!” the cloaked man bounced up to dozens of steps. After rolling around and thrashing for a moment, he finally ran away from Taja.

Taja felt his chest, accidentally touching something.

“Lontin!” Taja moving, thinking hard looking for answers. Pendant tied necklace on the neck sticking out from between the shirt craters. The writing on the surface of the pendant was emitting a blue light as it was wet.

After Taja tried to remember the brief incident earlier, he suddenly felt amazed that the blue light had saved him.

Kraaagh ... Kraaagh …!!!

Dozens of voices echoed from various directions. Taja quickly left from there, running in any direction he knew without caring about the dirt and the body shivering with cold.

Hieeeeeek …!!!

The horse's concise dispels Taja's attention. Finally he found a port of Puri.

The atmosphere of the pier on the edge of the forest was very quiet, no one was seen at night that late except for dozens of wooden boats bound to the edge.

“Lorr En!” Taja remembered Lorr En. After being separated, he himself did not know about the current state of his friend.

“Lorr En... Lorr En!” call him many times while looking around, hoping that his friend will emerge from hiding. But there is no sign of the existence of Lorr En, Taja being misgivings, ‘Don't-don't he still be there’, thought Taja take a look into the forest.

Kraaagh .. Kraagh …

The sounds accompanied by the horse's neighing were getting closer from the direction of the forest.

“Lorr!”  call him loud again. Being time-hunted, he jumped into one of the nearby boats.

“Quick, Lorr!” taja shouted continuously hoping that Lorr En emerged from the direction of the roaring sound of horse legs.

“Quick!”

Taja's shout was instead welcomed by the emergence of dozens of horsemen from the dense direction of the trees. They approached the edge of the wooden-bottomed pier.

Taja panicked when looking from there did not seem Lorr En. Confused to do so, Taja was glued to the wooden boat.

Dozens of horsemen stopped at the lip of the pier, one of the largest bringing the glowing orange sword even closer. He put the sword into his scabbard and then switched out a bow. One large arrow was ready to shoot towards Taja.

Just a few meters away from him, Taja did not budge, like being drugged by tension, not knowing what to do let alone.

Kreeet ....

The bow spring stretched in the hand of one of the Black Horsemen and was ready to launch an arrow towards Taja.

Bok ...! Byurr ...!!!

Suddenly the boat that was boarded by Taja upside down. No time to scream, he sank with the boat down. The silent atmosphere covered with thunderous thunder.
