The charm of Mr. De Luca

The charm of Mr. De Luca
Let Me Stay

At around nineteen-thirty, Mia was getting ready to close her shop. He took care of all the tables and chairs outside.

Tired, of course. However, Mia is a hardworking girl. His ambition to become a doctor, was too high for the state of the family's economy, so he decided to major in accordance with the livelihood of his father, namely Business Management. Mia hopes that her knowledge can help develop her father's business.

After finishing with the table and chair, Mia then shifted her work to the cash register. Just as he finished calculating the income of the shop today, he was suddenly startled by the presence of a well-built man, by his walking and his somewhat stupefied stance. Anxiety began to greet Mia's heart, especially because at that time she was alone there. Especially when viewed from the outside appearance of the man, it seems he is not a good man.

The pair of gray eyes belonged to the man, staring softly at Mia who was still trying to keep a calm look. The man's face looked so shabby. It seemed like he had just taken a job or maybe a long trip, because he looked so exhausted. However, Mia was hesitant again. He was afraid that the man was a drunken street thug who got lost in his father's tavern.

“There can I help you with, Mister?” mia asked somewhat flatly. His face clearly showed discomfort despite his constant attempts to cover up.

“Can I have some water? I was so thirsty,” sounded the man replied with his voice a little hoarse and also so heavy.

“Yes, of course. Please sit down first!” somewhat nervously, Mia pointed at the table that was on the inside of the modest tavern. He then passed and took a bottle of mineral water for the man who at that time apparently preferred to stand in his place.

Still with nervousness enveloping her, Mia thrust out the bottle of mineral water. With trembling hands, the other man, Matteo, received the bottle of mineral water that Mia had thrust at him. However, at once Mia was shocked and dropped the bottle of mineral water she was holding. The girl covered her mouth, with both her palms. “Master, your hands are bleeding!” mia exclaimed slowly, after she began to master her surprise.

Matteo did not answer. His body is too weak. Still lucky he could get to the tavern, because at least his sturdy body did not collapse on the streets. While Mia, she was surprised again and covered her mouth like that, when she found Matteo's body falling down with a bent position on the floor.

Mia felt that something was wrong with the man. He lowered his body and half squatted. He ventured to reverse Matteo's unconscious body. He held Matteo's wrist. The girl was ascertaining whether Matteo was still alive or not. If Matteo died there, it would be a big deal for his father as a tavern owner.

Mia then shook Matteo's body. “Master! Master, awake! Please don't faint let alone die here! You're gonna get me and my dad in trouble!” babble Mia with a face filled with worry

“Master, wake up!” again, Mia hopes that Matteo will soon wake up and leave her shop. However, it was a pity that Matteo kept his eyes closed even though his heart was still beating.

Confused by what she had to do, Mia seemed to be pacing back and forth while occasionally biting the fingernail tip of her index finger. In the aftermath, Mia calls the emergency ambulance service. However, suddenly the man opened his eyes and snatched his cell phone. “Please don't call anyone, or they'll know that I'm hiding here,” hiss the gray-eyed man.

“Let me rest at your place. I beg you,” pinta Matteo in a clear tone.

Mia nodded doubtfully. He then approached Matteo who looked in pain. Mia rested, and pulled the man's body and then placed the man's head on his lap. I don't know why Mia did that. His body seemed to move on its own, and without him the command to embrace the weak strapping body.

“Please just treat my injuries! I'll lead you!” said slowly. Matteo directed the look in his eyes at the black leather jacket that had been torn here and there, as a gesture of a request for help to Mia.

Deftly, Mia took off the leather jacket worn by Matteo and left a plain gray T-Shirt round neck. Mia then scrunched her forehead as she looked at the gunshot wound on Matteo's right arm that was wrapped in a scum cloth carelessly.

Mia nodded immediately. It only provides soft drinks and all kinds of coffee. His father never sold alcohol.

"Ma-I mean .. pure alcohol. Alcohol to sterilize the wound," Matteo's sentence began to stammer. The energy is running out.

"Um, I'll buy it at the pharmacy. What else do you need?" ask Mia.

"A mouthful of water again, before you left," Matteo's big hand held Mia's clasped fingers to stand up. It caused a strange tremor in Mia's chest. Mia immediately grabbed a water bottle nearby and stuck it slowly on Matteo's lips. Unknowingly, he admired the handsome face that was busy gulping down the water.

Matteo closed his eyes, revealing dense and pliable eyelashes. Her lips looked wet with water. The man's eyebrows were so neat and firm. Same color as the color of his long hair, jet black. A few strands of Matteo's hair fell on his forehead. Bruises and scratches also appeared to adorn his cheeks.

"Even, enough! Thank you," Matteo opened her eyes and looked gently at Mia. The man smiled so charmingly that it made Mia's cheeks meet red. "In a moment, I'll get something for you," Mia stood up immediately. Half-running, he walked into the inside of the tavern and exited a few minutes later while carrying a small pillow in the shape of his favorite flower.

"Sorry, lie down here for a while! I'm not strong enough to lift your body that's too big."

Matteo smiled. "I'm very grateful" he said.

Mia showed her sweet smile. "alright. I'm going to the pharmacy across. Steady, Sir!" The girl ran as fast as lightning opening the shop door and crossing the street. The dispensary in front of his shop belonged to Mrs Rosario, the best pharmacist in the region.

A little rude, Mia opened the entrance of the dispensary, making the middle-aged woman standing behind the cashier's desk quite surprised.

"Mrs! I need alcohol, bandages and tweezers. Needles and operating thread!" mia said fretfully.

"Whose other dog are you trying to make a guinea pig, Mia?" Mrs Rosario immediately prepared the items and put them in a plastic bag. "Not to pay! Let's just say I helped you realize your unachievable dream!" said the woman before Mia could open her mouth. With teary eyes, Mia nodded and thanked him.

A few minutes later, he had been by Matteo's side asleep. A smile rose on Mia's lips. The girl recalled the words of Lady Rosario who thought she would treat a dog.
