The charm of Mr. De Luca

The charm of Mr. De Luca
Something In A Paper Bag

Matteo smiled slightly. Sometimes he put his face down because he was embarrassed. While Mr. Gio doesn't bother much. The middle-aged man immediately did his job, preparing everything, so that later in the afternoon he and Mia were not too tired.

Saw Mr. Gio who works alone, Matteo took the initiative to help him. He lowered the chair from the table and arranged it neatly.

“Usually Mia who comes here at a time like this,” Matteo said. He saw Mr. Gio is serious about his work.

Mr. Gio stopped his work for a moment. He turned to face Matteo standing up. “My daughter still has to finish homework. For today he is not too rushed like a few days back,” said Mr. Gio without any intention of insinuating Matteo. However, it had made Matteo feel a little uneasy.

“Mia always comes on time,” Matteo said again. I don't know why he wanted to keep talking about the girl. While Mr. Gio just mumbled slowly. Then he went to the cashier table. The guy was doing something else there. While Matteo leaned part of his body on the edge of the table.

“Mia, my biological daughter. I love him so much. In addition, I must take responsibility for the promise I have given to my late wife,”. Gio with a facial expression that suddenly looked grim. However, that does not make him become soluble in sadness. Mr. Gio is a strong man who is good at hiding all the suffering inside him.

“Is your biological daughter just Mia?” ask Matteo again. He took a chair and turned it over. Matteo then sat down and folded his arms over the seat.

“Yes. My wife was very sick when Mia was a child. He died at a relatively young age, something very unfortunate. However, it was all a fate that I could not prevent and had to accept,” Mr. Gio ended his words with a faint smile. After that, he resumed his work. Matteo was still staring at the man. A man with an age that is not much different from his father, Roberto de Luca.

Mr. Gio seemed to have finished his work at the cashier table. However, he re-energized himself with something else.

“Have you lived in Venice for a long time, Mr?” ask Matteo again. He knows that Mr. Gio is a good man, behind his tough and decisive attitude.

“Yes. I've been here since Mia was twelve,” replied Mr. Gio. He took a short breath. “I used to live in Milan and work in one of the government offices there. However, after my wife is gone I decided to move here,” explained Mr. Gio stood in front of Matteo. He leaned part of his body against the cashier's desk and looked at the young man before him.

"You know what, Giovanotto? I met Magdalene in this town. She's an amazing actress. I watched the show. One time, two times, and in the end I decided to dare to greet him. Magdalene is a very beautiful woman. He has a lot of fans, and I'm not like his other fans,”. Gio who looks radiant while reminiscing about his past with Magdalena.

“You mean?” ask Matteo. He seems interested in Mr.'s love story. Gio as young.

“I'm not like his other fans. I came to her with nothing, not even a flower. I'm not sure if he'll remember me. But it turns out that's exactly what made him not forget me. Sometimes what we are afraid of becomes luck to us. Funny, right?” Mr. Gio smiled knot.

“How could you be so confident then, Mr?” ask Matteo again without changing his sitting attitude or tone of speech. The man was still as calm as the lake water.

Mr. Gio shook his head slowly. He also may not understand his own life. A smile on his lips that decorated a mustache was quite thick.

“I don't know where that courage comes from, but for sure I only carry one belief in me. I don't care though about getting a painful rejection, the important thing is that I've been manly by showing what's in my heart. I'm not pretending let alone running and dodging. At least he had found out if there was an unpretentious man, who had fallen in love with him in a different way. Unusual way,” said Mr. Gio again made Matteo speechless and thought deeply. Matteo. It was like getting an injection in him.

"My wife and I are getting older. We hope our three daughters can find a man who will take care of them to the fullest, who is not only good at talking."

Until midday, Matteo accompanied Mr. Gio in the store. At that time, Mia just came there with a white bone paper bag. Matteo, who had just finished installing a table outside the shop, seemed to wipe the sweat that soaked his forehead. The two of them stared for a moment, before Mia finally decided to go in and meet her father.

Mia was stunned upon entering the tavern. He doesn't know what to do there. Everything was done, even the tissue was ready on each table.

Mr. Gio approached Mia who was still standing with a feeling of wonder mixed with amusement. “Mr Bellucci has helped me, Mia. Maybe he felt embarrassed for just eating and sleeping here,” whispered Mr. Gio. He then returned to the cashier's desk.

Mia then turned her gaze to Matteo who was just entering the tavern. He looked a bit clumsy, although the attitude kept trying to hide him.

It's not like Mia herself. The girl was being sold expensively in front of Matteo. However, not infrequently he stole a look at the beautiful man.

“Theo,” call Mia slowly. In the end he relented and greeted first.

Matteo turned his head and looked at Mia with his usual gaze. The gaze that made the girl again misbehaved, especially when Matteo stepped boldly and approached Mia who was immediately glued to her place of standing.

“What can I help you with, Mia?” ask Matteo. Her voice sounded so seductive and put away all the sanity that Mia kept trying to maintain.

“Um .. no. Nothing,” Mia replied rather nervously. Sometimes he bowed his face and covered his lips. Mia was confused where to start. Therefore, he ended up thrusting the paper bag he carried without saying much.

“What is this?” matteo asked as he looked at the contents inside the paperbag. At once Matteo frowned.

“You will need that," said Mia as she turned her gaze in all directions. "How many days have you not changed your underwear?” mia replied timidly. He felt bad about having to discuss something very personal with a man who was still a stranger to him.

Matteo smiled. A smile that looks much more supple and wide when compared to the usual Matteo smile. The man looked very relaxed and unencumbered at all.
