Matteo did not immediately respond to Adriano's remarks. He looked at the blue-eyed man sharply, his gaze then turned to Mia. However, of course with a much different eye highlight. "My wife just returned to Casa de Luca after weeks of hospital treatment. After all, the people who will help me have not arrived from Palermo. They will only come in three or four days," Matteo explained, again directing his gaze to the handsome figure of Adriano.
"You don't have to worry, Mr. de Luca. I've brought someone very expert, and will definitely be able to help you in doing all that work. His expertise is no doubt," said Adriano.
"Why do you want me to accept this offer of cooperation? I don't even know the person who will order my weapon" Matteo said in a cautious tone. "About the story, a friend whom I had even known dared to betray me. Then, what about a stranger I've never met at all. I'm sorry, Mr. D'Angelo. However, I have to be very careful" Matteo said quite firmly.
Adriano looked at Matteo. His pair of blue eyes seemed to imply something difficult for Matteo. The man kept a lot of question marks that Matteo had not been able to examine clearly. Adriano then put a calm smile on his face. The man always looked calm in his every carry. "If you'd like, I can introduce you to that colleague of mine. However, of course you have to come directly to Monaco" bargained Adriano. His gaze suddenly turned to Mia who had been silent since just listening to the two men talk.
"Monaco is no less beautiful than Italy, Mrs de Luca. Although Monaco is not as big as this country, but I'm sure you will feel very impressed to be able to explore it," Adriano said with a very different tone and tone when he addressed Mia.
Mia looked over and smiled. "With my current condition, I will only be an obstacle, Mr. D'Angelo" Mia said slowly.
"Why are you talking like that, Cara mia? I've told you many times, you don't even need this wheelchair as long as I'm by your side" Matteo said, making Mia smile gently at him.
"I know that, Theo. However, there must be a lot of things that you have to do while there," Mia argued in a very soft tone.
"Yes, and I can't leave you alone here" Matteo said. "Don't argue with me!" prevent it before Mia could even get her words out. The woman clenched her mouth and turned to Adriano.
"You see, Mr D'Angelo? My husband is really unique, isn't he? That's what makes him different from other men, and that's why I fell in love with him" said Mia with a million implied meanings that Adriano had to digest well. Adriano was silent for a moment. The man seemed to think. While Matteo gave a small smile and occasionally lowered his face, holding back the laughter of pride towards his wife.
"Yes, you guys are a very compatible couple. Honestly, sometimes I am very envious to see it," said Adriano accompanied by a joke that only replied to a ridiculing gaze from Matteo. Adriano can understand that. But he tries to be ordinary.
"How about, Mr de Luca? Will you accept my offer? It just so happened that the person I was referring to was already in Italy" Adriano said. He convinced Matteo to go again.
"I'll think about it first. Besides, there are some important points that one who will be my assistant must possess. That's it, Mr. D'Angelo. I can't work with someone who doesn't have the criteria set, even if only one point is missing" Matteo said with a serious look on his face.
"I understand, Mr. de Luca. However, there is no harm in you getting acquainted first with him,” said Adriano.
Matteo thought for a moment, then turned to Mia. “What do you think, dear? What am I supposed to do?” tanyakanya.
Mia looked at the two beautiful men in turn and stopped at Adriano. He looked at that face carefully. It made Adriano look so wrong.
“I think Mr. D’Angelo can bring his friend here, Theo. There is nothing wrong with you getting acquainted first, before you decide to accept him as someone who helps your work or not,” said Mia later.
“Alright then,” Matteo nodded in agreement. “You can bring him here,” he told Adriano.
“It's great that I heard it. In a moment, I'll be in touch with him,” Adriano asks for permission and reaches into the phone in his pants pocket. He retreated and walked a few steps away from the couple to make a phone call. Shortly after, Adriano ended his call. He returned to Matteo and Mia with a smile. “He will arrive in half an hour. It's okay, isn't it, Mr de Luca?” abugn.
“As far as you are concerned,” snorts Matteo rather annoyed. He doesn't usually receive guests this early. However, he has already confirmed the offer from Adriano.
“I have entered Casa de Luca several times, but I have never seen this part of the house,” he said as he swept his gaze up to the ceiling of the building. He now walks down a long hallway with an open arch-shaped wall on one side, revealing a view of the plantation that looks cool and beautiful.
At the end of the hallway is a beautiful little garden. Right in front of the park is the entrance to the dining room. Looks like some waiters are busy arranging tables and other eating supplies. Some dishes also look ready there.
“Please sit down, Mr. D’Angelo. Choose any seat you want, as long as it is not next to my wife,” chirps Matteo who was immediately greeted by a small pinch on the waist, by Mia of course.
Matteo grimaced a little and then raised his hand, calling one of the servants. “Who is on guard in the first post?” tanyakanya.
A servant who was still young, rushed to Matteo while looking down. “So morning, I delivered coffee to Mr. Scotti,” replied the waiter politely.
“Alright,” Matteo moved his hand, as a gesture for the servant to leave immediately from before him. “What is the name of your men who are planning to help me assemble weapons, Mr D'Angelo?” matteo's question now turned to Adriano.
“Name Valerie Nikolaev, Sir,” replied Adriano who immediately made Matteo aghast.
“You mean she's a woman?” hisses.
“Yes, Mr. de Luca. She is a woman, but certainly not a woman. He has been with and lived with my family since the age of ten. My late father took it off the street, as he was about to steal something at the grocery store. Since then, he has been grazed with a hard military upbringing" explained Adriano while playing with a knife in his right hand. While Matteo listened to his words carefully.
"My father also taught him to practice shooting and fiddling with weapons. Imagine, from the age of ten to now. He was obsessed with all kinds of weapons. I think you guys are going to be a great team,” Adriano said at length.
“Yes, already,” Matteo immediately picked up the phone and contacted his men who were on guard at the outermost post of the plantation area. “Scotti, how many people are in the first post?” ask her in a tone that sounds so serious.
“Fifteen people, Boss,” replied someone across there.
“Good. Soon someone named Valerie Nikolaev will come. He wanted to see me, so just drop him off right here,” he said.
