Valentino invites Mia to sit on a bench located in front of a giant painting with the image of God Cupid or Amor. That is what most Romans call it.
“You remember the beginning of our introduction, Mia?” ask Valentino. “You were crying in the back yard because Mariano was bothering you."
“You came and hit him,” said Mia while laughing.
“Mariano reported me to the supervising teacher,” Vale replied.
“Then you were punished,” timpal Mia.
“At that time the supervising teacher asked me in the punishment class. What reason did I hit Mariano. I answered because I was shot by Cupid's arrow that said your name,” said Vale.
They both lie in a quiet museum. Not many tourists come to the beautiful and artistic museum. Generally they are more interested in going down the canal and enjoying the view on the gondola.
“I'm reminded of the love story between Cupid and Psyche,” Mia murmured.
Valentino fell silent and waited for Mia's next sentence. Will her love story end happily? As they both know, according to legend, the God Amor or Cupid was the son of the Goddess Venus, a goddess of love and beauty.
The goddess Venus was the most beautiful goddess among the goddesses of ancient Roman belief. All the eyes that looked at him could be sure to be blown away. However, a human boy named Psyche has defeated her beauty.
Psyche is a virgin girl who was bestowed with a very beautiful face, defeating the goddess Venus. Unfortunately, the beauty of Psyche has caused envy in the Goddess Venus. He then ordered his son Cupid to write the name of an ugly giant on the tip of his arrow and shoot it at Psyche. The hope is that the girl will fall in love with the giant.
Cupid always obeyed his mother's orders. He rushed to the Psyche residence. Unexpectedly, after seeing Psyche directly, Cupid instead fell in love with her and forgot the task given by the mother.
Cupid's logic seemed to be uprooted to see the beauty of the girl. Soon he removed the giant name from the tip of his arrow and replaced it with the name Psyche.
Cupid then shot the arrow right in his own chest. It resulted in her falling in love and bowing to a Psyche.
The goddess Venus was very angry to know this. He punished Psyche with severe trials. However, Cupid who had already fallen in love, always accompanied Psyche and never left her. Until finally, the Goddess Venus withered and blessed them both. The goddess Venus also raised Psyche as a minor goddess.
“Cupid and Psyche live happily ever after,” said Valentino quietly. “Did you imagine yourself as Psyche, Mia?” tanyanya.
Mia did not answer. He nodded and smiled knot.
“Then, who is Cupid?” valentino's chest was pounding waiting for Mia's answer. He hoped the girl would say his name.
“Entahlah. I imagined himself as Cupid, but it didn't feel very much like his cold, mysterious character. He also looks so dashing and charming,” replied Mia.
Valentino was immediately attacked by a tremendous disappointment. Obviously, Mia did not describe herself. Valentino is not a cold and mysterious man. The picture even reminds her of the figure of a foreign youth that Daniella introduced as her new boyfriend.
“What is Matteo?” valentino asked in a half-whispered voice.
“How can you know?” Mia looked up at her best friend. At least that status was pinned for Valentino.
“Nothing I don't know about you,” the handsome young man. Mia laughed when she heard it. His cheeks looked so blushing.
“Maybe it's not Cupid. He was more worthy of being Mars. God of war," murmured Mia.
“Why is that?” Valentino frowned.
“The figure is so fierce and charming. She kissed Daniella once, but also kissed me,” Mia looked down when she said that. His face blushed again.
“Vale, don't fidget. Sit!” tell Mia. He knew Valentino was holding back the turmoil in his heart. However, Mia felt the need to tell what she felt so that her best friend did not expect too much of her.
Valentino, can never refuse whatever Mia wants. He sat back beside her.
“Why, Vale? Didn't you ever kiss Daniella?” asked Mia softly.
“I did that just to make you jealous,” replied Valentino while looking away.
“Isn't it the same? You guys keep kissing,” Mia chuckles.
“Of course it's different! I did it not out of love, else if I kissed you! Me ...” Valentino did not have time to continue his words because it was cut off by Mia's words.
“I'm hungry. I'm bored here too!”
Valentino grunted in annoyance. He took a deep breath to neutralize his emotions.
“You want to eat where?” tanyakanya. Valentino finally relented and obeyed Mia, who at that time only smiled sweetly to Valentino. “Oh, Cupid. You shot your arrow wrong,” murmured.
“After I thought about it, I was not very hungry. I've eaten a lot of dad-made pasta at the store, before you took me out,” said Mia.
“So? Where do you want to go?” valentino asked in despair.
“How about we go to the bookstore? I'll help you find references to your latest articles. Unraveling the mafia network in our country,” said Mia while raising her eyebrows.
Valentino. One thing that is very special about Mia is that sometimes she can turn into someone who is very funny and full of surprises like now.
Without permission Mia grabbed and dragged Valentino out of the museum. Mia chose to take her best friend to a bookstore that is famous for the most complete and largest in Venice.
A few moments on the way, they finally arrived at a five-story building with brown bricks. The entire window was made of iron painted in blue.
So does the entrance. Mia and Valentino enter the school building of the witches in a famous movie.
Mia takes Valentino to a bookshelf that holds Italian history and politics books.
According to him, the development of mafia networks and crime in his country can not be separated from the influence of power and social inequality that occurs, due to the government's policies that are less fair.
“What is this, Mia?” tanya Valentino shortly after Mia held out a book entitled ‘Development of the Underground Society Since 1819’.
“Perhaps from there you can find the origin of the proliferation of banned organizations in our country,” replied Mia enthusiastically. He read page after page that Valentino had opened.
For some reason, Mia was so interested in the names written on it. Until his eyes stopped on a surname De Luca.
His attention was glued to the writing that the De Luca clan were wine farmers at first. They have hundreds of hectares of plantation land scattered throughout northern Italy. However, in the course of the revolution of 1848, they chose to sacrifice their vineyards in support of rebellious activities aimed at overthrowing the nationalist government and turning it into a liberal state.
The De Luca clan also began supplying weapons to revolutionary fighters and rebel forces working together. It was from there that the De Luca organization was formed, although it was eventually dissolved after the revolution ended.
