Carrying Mia, Matteo walked into the living room, accompanied by Valerie and Adriano who were a few steps behind them. A waiter appears to be carrying Mia's wheelchair and placing it next to the sofa.
Matteo looked at the faces of his guests one by one. There seemed to be a tense and unfriendly aura that they displayed. No more friendly smiles from detective Fabrizio as he has always shown in front of Matteo.
“Can you explain, what is your reason for coming here?” tanya Matteo full of probes.
The detective did not answer immediately. He even put up a full-out anger mimicry. “Are you playing us, Mr de Luca?” snarl.
“I don't feel like playing anyone, Detective? What's this problem exactly?” sahut Matteo with a tone made as calm as possible. This time, it can't be hooked at all.
“You and Mr. Marco de Luca have promised us to check on Mr. Antonio. But what is the truth? Until now, we couldn't reach him at all. If this situation continues for the next week, then we will cooperate with Interpol and publish red notice!” threaten Detective Fabrizio.
“Quiet first, Detective!” a man's voice rang out from the entrance. It was Marco who approached them in a hurry. “Didn't I tell you my father was sick? He is in a coma so can not be spoken to,” him with gasping breath.
“Oh, yes? Everyone can argue. However, it is authentic evidence that can prove everything. Do you have proof?” Fabrizio Fishing.
“Have I not submitted the files to you? My father's overseas travel certificate published by immigration officers, as well as a treatment certificate on behalf of Antonio de Luca from the central hospital in Boston. Is it incomplete? ” beber Marco looks very convincing.
“I'm not stupid, gentlemen! What you have given us is just a paper proof. There are no real photos of Mr. Antonio there. It can't be used as a handle at all. I can arrest you for insulting the police agency!” snapper Fabrizio.
“Wait first! You can't just accuse us of contempt!” Matteo who had been trying to calm down, now began to ignite emotions. The man immediately stood up while clenching his hands.
“Then please show other proof besides those papers which are easy to counterfeit!” challenge Fabrizio firmly, making Matteo and Marco instantly silent without twitching. Somehow they silence the detective's suspicions.
“Please excuse me, Gentlemen. Let me testify,” suddenly Adriano stood up from her seat.
“Whose you?” detective Fabrizio asked suspiciously of the beautiful blue-eyed man.
“I am a close friend of Mr. de Luca. I have been living in Monaco all this time. We have been friends since childhood,” said Adriano while occasionally glancing towards Matteo. A glare full of signals. “I just want to make it clear that Mr. Antonio's condition really does not allow to be questioned, because he is in a coma,” Adriano said carefully.
“Do you have strong proof for that?” chase Fabrizio.
“I'll call the nurse who looks after my uncle!” matteo. The sentence that made Marco shudder in horror. The sweat began to wet his slippery forehead. His eyes seemed to show protest to Matteo. How is it possible to contact a nurse who is clearly never there? “But, since it is still too early in the United States, it is good to wait until the next few hours,” continued Matteo again.
“What other game is this, Mr de Luca?” grumbled detective Fabrizio. “I don't want to know. If until the next week Mr. Antonio can not be contacted, then we will be forced to publish a red notice and hunt Mr. Antonio to America!” emphatically.
Without saying much, the detective, along with his men, hurriedly left the de Luca family residence. After they died, the atmosphere of the living room suddenly quiet. Everyone dissolves in their own thoughts. No exception Damiano who had not issued a word earlier.
“Are you crazy, Theo? How to make a video call with a fictional figure?” sniff Marco. He is now unable to think clearly. Remembering before, he was also a relaxed person. Time to spend just having fun. Right now, his mind is being tested.
“Give me time to think. Tomorrow we talk back after breakfast,” said Matteo weakly.
“If you need anything, feel free to contact me, Mr. de Luca,” without hesitation, Adriano come forward and offer help.
Matteo turned his head and observed the man's blue eyes. There was no joking and playful feeling there. Adriano was very serious about what he said.
“Alright, then. I won't reject it. In the future, I will need your help, Mr. D’Angelo,” said Matteo with a little resort.
“I will be very happy to help you, because we are working partners now. If something bad happens to you, it will affect me and our efforts of course,” explained Adriano.
“So how, Moy brat? Are you going home to Monaco today?” Valerie who had noticed the people around her talking, now started to open her voice.
“Of course. After all, the prototype of the weapon is also ready,” replied Adriano firmly.
“Alright, Mr. D’Angelo. See you soon, whenever you go back to Italy,” Matteo said in a more friendly tone than usual.
“After arriving there, I will definitely contact you soon,” Adriano reached out her hand and shook everyone who was there. No exception to Mia. Especially for the beautiful woman, Adriano kissed the back of her hand gently.
“Then I?” Valerie with a questioning face while pointing at her own nose while playing her braid.
“Aren't you on probation? That means, you have to start working here,” said Matteo.
“Alright, then. I stayed here for a while,” Valerie winked one eye at Adriano while waving her hand. “Be careful on the road, Moy brat!” said warm. Adriano then nodded. He immediately said goodbye once again to everyone before his figure left the Casa de Luca.
Moments later, Damiano stood up and moved to sit next to Matteo. “Son, I didn't expect at all if our organization was on the edge. The bombing case really makes our secret almost exposed by the authorities,” he said full of worry and doubt.
“I'll think of a way out, Damiano. I am the one responsible for the continuity of this clan,” said Matteo quickly and looks so sure, although in his heart he felt a little bit anxious. However, Matteo could not show it in front of anyone. He had to keep his wife, even if he knew Damiano knew him well.
“Don't worry, Damiano,” Matteo patted the man's shoulder slowly. His attention then turned to Mia who had just been silent. “You all right, my dear?” tanyanya.
Mia shook her head softly, then looked at her husband with a pitiful look. “I'm afraid they'll put you in jail, Theo,” the woman looks very worried.
“Quiet only, Cara mia. Your husband is very difficult to subdue,” joked Matteo while smiling calmly. “Already, don't think of anything. It's time for Mrs de Luca to take a break.” Matteo immediately pushed Mia's wheelchair and directed her towards their room. He left Damiano and Valerie who was staring at the departure of the couple with a dumb face. “What about my fate?” mumbled wailing.
“There are many empty guest rooms in this house. You can choose one of them, Miss Nikolaev,” Damiano replied calmly. "I'll have the waiter prepare a room for you. Make yourself as comfortable as possible while you're here" Damiano also chose to get out of the place.
Meanwhile in the room, Matteo moved Mia carefully onto the bed. Matteo then sat on the edge of the bed, next to Mia. He stared at the floor, holding his head with both hands.
“Theo,” Mia rubbed her husband's back slowly and gently. He knew that Matteo was under a lot of pressure. Indirectly, Mia also felt the burden. Moreover, Matteo must finish Antonio's life to save himself.
Mia regretted all the suspicious attitude she had directed towards the gray-eyed man. Soon grabbed Matteo's fingers and he held tightly. "I'll always be by your side, Theo. I promise," said Mia sure.
