The Battle of Zerg

The ten soldiers who were currently moving their characters in the virtual world heard what Dimas said, this voice surprised them but upon finding that it was Dimas's voice they immediately calmed down and listened carefully to what Dimas had said.

"The police station is at the end of the road, according to professor Dimas we have to go to that place and prepare in 30 minutes which is likely after 30 minutes we will meet the enemy" One of the soldiers said to the other soldier.

The other nine soldiers also realized this and started thinking about who would become their enemy later on. Although they thought of who would become their enemy but they immediately dismissed that thought and prepared to go to the end of the road and look for a bunker at the police station to retrieve the necessary equipment. 

They came out of the shelter and were greeted with strong winds and snow that greatly disturbed them. They walked slowly in the piled snow to drown their calves and had to squint their eyes due to the blizzard.

While the ten soldiers were struggling in the snowstorm in the virtual world, the, in the real world Dimas and others stare back and forth between the monitors displaying the perspective of the soldiers and the soldiers themselves who are doing the posture of people crashing a blizzard on top of the device VR. Dimas was quite amazed by the VR device that could even make these soldiers really hit a blizzard even though they were still in this research room.

"The degree of resemblance of this virtual world is too terrifying, I know that this is just an image produced by VR glasses but my body feels really being hit by a snowstorm" One soldier muttered softly, saying, but what he did not know was that the voice was heard by everyone in the research room.

"Yes, fortunately only three of our five senses are simulated so realistically, if our sense of smell and sense of taste are also realized then I might mistake this for the real world" Others responded.

They continued to walk through the storm, they moved very slowly and could only reach the police station at the end of the road after about 15 minutes. They entered the police station and after spending another 5 minutes searching for the hidden entrance of the bunker they finally made it into the bunker.

This bunker was in a mess, with some spots and pools of blood where mana and also some scratches something like a sharp weapon. Ten soldiers who control their characters in this virtual world feel themselves thrown into a horror game where in every room there will likely be something that surprises them and makes them die instantly.

"Is this the bunker? Why does it look like a place that just got attacked by a monster?" A soldier complained.

"Let's go split up, according to professor Dimas' previous words there are equipment for us in this bunker that we can use to face the enemy who will appear in 5 minutes" The other soldier said to the others.

The other nine soldiers immediately agreed, they split up with a group of two and went in different directions. It didn't take long for one of these groups of soldiers to finally find a room that contained various equipment such as mechanical armor, electromagnetic weapons, and other weapons, and also an electromagnetic shield that they have been using frequently in the real world.

"At least these soldiers can still do a good job on the gripping and terrible environment, but this speed is still too slow, now only simulations and enemies can be set when it will appear, he said, if this was a real battlefield then the footprints and the previous shouts would attract the attention of the enemy" Dimas said lightly without paying attention to the expressions of those around him.

"Professor Dimas forgot one thing, we will not send troops and arm them midway, but will arm them first before sending them towards the enemy" General Andika said to Dimas.

This made Dimas speechless, what the general Andika said was indeed correct and unreasonable to send troops without equipment unless there were some special situations that forced him to do so.

"It seems that I need to learn some things about the military later, my knowledge of the military and various military tactics is still so low that it is almost impossible to lead an army" Dimas said awkwardly to the people in the place.

At the moment a reminder appeared on the monitor, it was an enemy arrival warning which meant that the 30 minutes time was over. With the arrival of this enemy means the function of VR devices to train troops will be seen. Dimas again begins communication with the soldiers in the virtual world to inform them that the enemy is coming to them soon, but before Dimas could speak to these ten soldiers some zerg appeared in front of the room of the soldiers who had just finished wearing equipment.

"Zerg! Attack!" One of the soldiers saw a zerg who started to arrive shouting to warn his other fellow soldiers and aiming at the zerg using electromagnetic weapons.

The sound of electromagnetic energy rubbing against the air could be heard clearly, the electromagnetic energy looked like a ball of lightning being hurled rapidly towards the incoming zerg. Electromagnetic weapons have a smart shooting function which with the help of artificial intelligence each shot will lead to the target.

The other soldiers also immediately responded and used electromagnetic weapons in their hands to fire on the incoming zerg. The shooting lasted for more than 10 minutes but the zerg still kept coming even more from time to time. Zerg was struck dead by lightning bullets that kept raining down on them as soon as they were seen by the soldiers, fortunately their sense of smell was not realized in this virtual world or they would smell a burning smell in the surrounding air.

The soldiers saw the endless zerg started to panic, one saw the remaining power part on his remaining electromagnetic weapon 80% instantly frowning, one, if the shooting continues then in 40 minutes they will run out of energy on their electromagnetic weapons.

"Everybody, let's leave this bunker, if we continue here then we'll just run out of ammo and be the food of these zergs" the soldier said to the rest of the army.
