Cold Fusion

It has been 3 days since Dimas has been living in an official shelter to build a nuclear fusion reactor that could provide enough energy for this official shelter. So far what Dimas has done is still the same as when he first came to the laboratory, which is to deepen the understanding of these scientists about nuclear fusion, Dimas even retyped the knowledge of nuclear fusion in his brain and made it a research paper that contains the complete knowledge of nuclear fusion owned by Dimas.

All the scientists in the lab ended up spending their time reading the paper and keeping Dimas apart from teaching them slowly. Currently only Dimas left himself in the laboratory, all the scientists who should be here returned to their respective residences to read the papers that Dimas made. Dimas went to the laboratory storage and took some items, all the items taken were then placed on an empty table in the laboratory. 

The stuff Dimas took away was to make a nuclear fusion reactor, Dimas wants to create a nuclear fusion reactor directly in the real world without using all the advanced equipment available in the laboratory and also hone his skills in research. From his jacket pocket Dimas pulled out a paper that had been painted over a blueprint of a new nuclear reactor.

Using the equipment available in the laboratory of the shelter Dimas began making every part of the nuclear fusion reactor he wanted to create. Although the equipment in this laboratory was inferior to the laboratory in Dimas's mind but the entire part of the nuclear fusion reactor could still be easily made using the equipment in this laboratory. All parts have been made and currently only the main parts remain that have not been made, the main part of this is where the nuclear material is palladium and platinum. The nuclear fusion used by Dimas is a cold fusion that can occur at normal temperatures unlike ordinary nuclear fusion temperatures that require heat up to millions of degrees Celsius and can be made as small as possible up to size palms.

Using a medium of heavy water whose molecular composition is dominated by deuterium, the lithium salt is dissolved then two electrodes of palladium and platinum are dipped into it. It uses a small amount of electric current on both the palladium and platinum electrodes to trigger fusion, the experimental site would then heat up to 400 times hotter than the result of an electric current and cause a portion of the palladium to evaporate due to this heat. Cold fusion has long been known to exist by some scientists in the 1990s but due to the absence of successful cold fusion experiments the existence of cold fusion is still questionable today. 

Although cold fusion was never known to the truth but for Dimas who had gained the appropriate knowledge regarding nuclear fusion so he learned that through some methods cold fusion could be realized. Dimas quickly completed the main part of his nuclear fusion reactor, a triangular tube that became the main part of the nuclear fusion reactor directly assembled together with the other parts. 

Dimas eventually completed the creation of his nuclear fusion reactor, looking towards the wall clock Dimas only spent about 3 hours to make a nuclear fusion reactor.

"It takes 3 hours to make a nuclear fusion reactor in the real world, if it's in the laboratory in my mind it might only take 10 minutes but it takes 7 hours to realize it" Dimas muttered while comparing the manufacture in the real world and in the technology laboratory.

Researching something in the real world and in technology laboratories has their own disadvantages and advantages which in the real world when researching Dimas needs to provide the material first and the manufacturing process will take place smoothly, as for the technology laboratory Dimas does not need to worry about materials research materials and Dimas only need to spend more time waiting to replace the shortage of materials.

Dimas saw the nuclear fusion reactor he had made in the real world look somewhat different to the nuclear fusion reactor made in a technology lab, this nuclear fusion reactor is a reactor that can be reused after being replaced by the main part in the form of a triangular tube that was last made by Dimas so next time Dimas only needs to make the main part without the need to make other parts parts. Dimas pressed the main part of the nuclear fusion reactor for 3 seconds then saw some parts that had previously propped the main part of the nuclear reactor apart and Dimas easily took the main part in the form of a luminous triangular tube that blue.

"Dimas? Did you make anything?" Professor Ratna saw Dimas holding a nuclear fusion reactor and asked Dimas.

Dimas turned his head and saw that it was professor Ratna and showed the nuclear fusion reactor to professor Ratna. From its shape professor Ratna can confirm that it is a nuclear fusion reactor but there is little difference from the nuclear fusion reactor they previously researched.

"It's a nuclear fusion reactor, I made a new one and made a slight upgrade to this reactor" Dimas introduced the nuclear fusion reactor while showing how the main part can be unloaded very easily.

Professor Ratna looks surprised, she sees how Dimas takes off and installs the main part of the nuclear fusion reactor and is increasingly amazed at Dimas. Nuclear fusion reactors are already at a very complex level of complexity to understand, now Dimas not until 1 day managed to make a nuclear fusion reactor that was previously like a disposable battery into a rechargeable battery and still at the same size.

"If nuclear fusion reactors are made in official shelters like this then the cost of maintenance will definitely be cut a lot" Professor Ratna said.

Dimas laughed lightly and said "The cost for treatment will definitely be less but the material for its nuclear fusion is palladium, before the Earth is hit by a meteor the price is very high and very rare, in today's environment finding palladium has even lower chances of eliminating meteor impacts on Earth within 1 month"

"Palladium? So is it true that nuclear fusion reactors use cold fusion?!" Professor Ratna shouted to Dimas to express her shocked feelings.

"I made this using the stuff in the lab storage, if it doesn't matter then I want to use this reactor to fulfill my friend's promise and for items in storage including rare metals I will replace as soon as possible" Dimas said.

It's been almost a week since Dimas and Dea agreed to swap generators and space heaters for supplies, Dimas of course remembers his best friend and makes these nuclear fusion reactors their generators. Professor Ratna did not mind at all about Dimas using materials from a laboratory storage area and even forbade Dimas to replace them. After a fairly convoluted talk, professor Ratna agrees with Dimas to return all research materials in the storage after Dimas says he wants to make other items.
