VR Device Testing

A few days later Dimas' underground laboratory received a visit from general Andika and also director Mahendra who had been informed that the VR device researched by the scientists led by Dimas had been completed and can be mass produced as soon as possible. General Andika and director Mahendra each brought some special forces soldiers they had trained to try out this VR device and see the training effect that they could get.

"General Andika, director of Mahendra, is pleased that you two will be here to see further testing of the VR device we have just developed" Dimas said with a smile and shook the hands of the two Garuda executives. 

"The pleasure is ours, we should be grateful that this VR device was specifically developed to help with military training that became our field" General Andika replied to Dimas' words which were immediately followed by a nod from director Mahendra to express his agreement.

"Haha, then we should head to the research room right now, everyone is waiting to see if this VR device is feasible or in need of repair" Dimas chuckled as he heard the words of General Andika, he immediately led the two of them into the VR device research room.

The two Garuda executives, of course, did not refuse, they followed Dimas in silent greetings while occasionally looking at Dea walking beside Dimas who made them shake their heads with a smile. According to them Dimas always act precocious but when seeing the interaction of Dimas and Dea who occasionally chatted in whispers made them grateful because Dimas can still behave like a normal teenager.

After a few minutes of walking, they all finally reached the VR device research room and entered the room. Currently the scientists are no longer researching and are busy looking at the ten VR devices lined up neatly in the middle of the room. Everyone turned their heads as the door of the research room suddenly opened, when they saw that it was Dimas who was followed by general Andika and also their director Mahendra immediately greeted all of them respectfully.

"Professor Dimas, ten VR devices have been made according to your previous request and all these VR devices can be directly used" one of the scientists said to Dimas.

Dimas nodded in response to the scientist's words and said "Let's get ready for testing, general Andika and director Mahendra have brought in some soldiers who will test the VR device this time"

They then go to the front of the VR device, the soldiers behind general Andika and also director Mahendra look at each other after seeing the VR device in front of them in confusion. The VR device on their minds is a helmet or glasses and while wearing them they can control their characters using only consciousness, the, but the VR device here is almost the same as ordinary VR devices that make these soldiers rather disappointed. 

"Is this VR not a full-dive VR? Still VR similar to existing VR?" Director Mahendra asked Dimas.

"For full dive VR can actually be developed by adding neuron nerve sensors on VR glasses but it will make the user do not need to move his body, he said, this VR device was developed for military training so it should be made like this so that our soldiers can not only mentally train them but can also train their bodies" Dimas replied.

Dimas went on to say, "If VR devices could be used across society, maybe we could start researching these neuron neural sensors and matching them to VR glasses"

"Alright, since everything is prepared I will ask general Andika and director Mahendra to let me organize the army they brought" Dimas did not want to waste any more time so he just started testing.

The two Garuda executives did not mind and let Dimas organize the ten soldiers they brought in, Dimas directed them to wear the nerve sensor clothing properly then told them to stand on a mobile device and hook a hook on the back of the clothing to keep the user balanced. Ten soldiers were first asked to test a motion device by walking in all directions on the device before finally being paired with VR glasses and a headset.

Now the sound from the outside cannot be heard by the soldiers wearing the complete VR device, other than that they cannot see anything because all the incoming light is blocked by VR glasses. Fortunately before putting on the headset and VR glasses they were already directed on how to activate the VR device, they felt the feel of the VR glasses and pressed a button on the right which is the button to activate the VR device.

As they push the button the environment they see changes from what they previously couldn't see to what a snow-covered abandoned city could be, at first glance, this scene is similar to that in the real world where sunlight cannot even penetrate the Earth's atmosphere, making the Earth feel like a night that lasts for thousands of years.

Besides the view they see, there was also the sound of the wind blowing very loudly accompanied by heavy snow falling and a cold feeling that felt like being plunged into a cold ice pool at minus temperatures, it all felt so real that there was even a soldier who thought he was switching worlds due to a failure in testing VR devices. 

"It's very real" said one soldier, he looked all over his body where he was currently seen wearing the same white camouflage uniform as the snow around him and an assault rifle hanging from his neck.

Ten soldiers looked at each other and worked together in silence to first seek shelter from the blizzard, they stepped forward while paying attention to the surroundings and after a few minutes of searching finally they found enough shelter to withstand the cold wind outside.

In the research room of the VR device a monitor showed ten different perspectives of the ten soldiers who had entered the virtual world. Dimas and the others watched this monitor excitedly, even general Andika and director Mahendra were very surprised by the images from the perspective of each of these soldiers. 

"Sempathy, let them hear my voice" Dimas said.

Sempati is the name of artificial intelligence in charge of organizing and developing the virtual world, Sempati who heard the words of Dimas only said "Communication is connected" and after that returned to his main task in developing the virtual world.

"You hear me? Go to the end of the road from where you are taking shelter and find an underground bunker under the police station!, put on the equipment provided there and hold on for as long as possible after 30 minutes!" Dimas did not wait for these soldiers to confirm because from the look on their faces Dimas could make sure they heard his voice so he immediately gave orders to them.
