"Didn't the meteor have been off before? Why did it still hit Earth?" Dimas muttered to himself.
Dimas' father and mother upon hearing the notification of failure in preventing the asteroid from going silent for a while before finally sighing deeply. Although they did not expect much for mankind to successfully prevent the meteor but still this made them sad.
"Let's get into the shelter soon, the meteor will hit the Earth in a moment" Father Dimas reminded.
Father and mother Dimas then went straight to the entrance of the shelter which was right in their backyard, all things had been moved first so they no longer needed to pack. Dimas followed from behind while occasionally looking up at the sky, as he was right in front of the entrance Dimas stopped and for the umpteenth time looked up at the sky.
"Dimas, let's get in!" Mom dimas who saw Dimas still silent at the entrance of the shelter immediately shouted.
"Wait a minute, I want to take a photo of the meteor as it enters the atmosphere" Dimas turned his head and said to his mother.
Dimas then pulled the phone out of his pants pocket and pointed the camera at the sky. Dimas' mother could only shake her head at her son's behavior and entered following her husband who was already in the middle of the shelter room. The door of the shelter is left open for Dimas to enter later, his father and mother are not too worried about Dimas doing dangerous things because he always prioritizes his own safety and those of those closest to him.
Dimas continued to record using his cell phone camera, he recorded the scene around his current home because after the meteor collision the environment here would definitely turn into a world of ice. Suddenly the sky looked brighter again, A giant fireball was seen burning in the sky as if a second sun had appeared at this time. The rumbling sound created from the friction of the meteor with the atmosphere sounded deafening.
The meteor continues to approach the Earth's surface, which surprisingly is the location of the fall back to its original location, the Pacific ocean. The meteor hit the surface of the pacific ocean water and immediately made waves hundreds of meters high that spread out in all directions, the resulting kinetic energy makes the earth vibrate violently and the extremely hot temperature of the meteor in contact with the surrounding water makes it a hot vapor and carried by the wind to other places.
Some small parts separate from the meteor and form small meteors that fall all over the world. One of the meteor fragments on the road in front of Dimas' house, the fragment was only as big as a marble but with the kinetic energy it carried made its way in front of Dimas' house cracked like a spider's nest.
Dimas who was still recording the view of the falling meteor was surprised by the trajectory of meteor fragments flying towards the front road of his house. He glanced at the entrance to the private shelter and where the meteor fragments had previously fallen. Without thinking long dimas went to his front house and got there was a crack like a net of profit, in the middle of the crack was seen a stone as big as a marble lit up like embers that attracted the attention of Dimas.
"Dimas! Let's get in!" Arriving when Dimas was still seeing meteor fragments, Dimas heard the sound of his mother's screams that made him realize that the impact of the meteor collision would soon spread around the world. Dimas mindlessly picked up the meteor fragments that were still burning with his bare hands and ran towards the shelter, he repeatedly passed the meteor fragments to his left hand and right hand due to overheating.
From the front the fog moved quickly towards Dimas, this was the hot steam carried by the previous wind, which had been, the temperature inside was still so high that all living things that were swallowed by this hot steam would be steamed and die within a few moments. Dimas sped up his run and was lucky to get to the shelter, the entrance that had just been closed was immediately passed by the hot steam.
Dimas who had just entered was panting heavily while leaning against the wall. Mother Dimas who saw her son almost dead steamed by the hot steam shuddered in horror, she could still feel the feeling of the air outside suddenly becoming hot when it was about to close the door of the shelter.
"Mom, mother, I just picked up a meteor fragment that fell in front of the house. It hurts, it hurts!" Dimas quickly explained the incident but his mother suddenly turned the pinch which made Dimas groan in pain.
"I told you that your obsession with extraterrestrial objects is not good for you. See now, your favorite space object hit Earth? How many will be victims?" Dimas' mother shouted which made Dimas instantly speechless.
Dimas's mother's breath looked very heavy with a few tears flowing from her eyes, her body looking trembling either from anger or sadness. Dimas did not dare to look into his mother's eyes and just clenched his hands so that the meteor shards pierced through his hands, the heat from the meteor shards as if it was not felt at this moment as his mind was filled with a feeling of guilt.
"What's this?" Dimas' father, who heard the screams from his wife, came and saw his wife crying while twisting a little meat around his son's waist.
"Ask your son!" Dimas' mother saw her husband just yelling while pointing dimas before finally leaving the two of them towards the middle of the shelter.
Dimas' father saw his wife leave just shaking her head and looking towards Dimas whose head was bowed. He approached Dimas and patted his son's shoulder and randomized his hair. Dimas' father heard the earlier screams clearly so he immediately understood what made his wife angry.
"Don't take your mother's words seriously, you know that your brother's death made her that way" Dimas' father told Dimas.
Dimas just nodded his head and went to the middle of the shelter while being embraced by his father. There were two rooms that had prepared the middle of the shelter, Dimas was immediately escorted by his father to his own room while his father would calm his wife in their room.
Dimas actually had an older sister who was 6 years older than him, since childhood Dimas loved his brother and vice versa. Dimas remembers that his brother always boasted that he would build a house on the Moon for their family. After graduating from High School, Dimas attended college abroad and after graduation he joined NASA, during that time Dimas' brother only came home once a year which made the relationship between the two brothers unwittingly become tenuous.
A year ago, Dimas' older brother came home for the last time, when he had been an astronaut from NASA without his family's knowledge and was assigned to make the first manned landing on Mars. NASA has long said that they want the first human to set foot on Mars to be female and make it like Gaia in the new world of Mars.
At first her mother disagreed with it, saying it was very dangerous and wanted to lock her brother away so he wouldn't run away, but after several persuasions by Dimas' father and brother, Dimas' mother finally agreed.
Finally her brother returned to NASA a few days later and was immediately sent into space the next day. A few months later the spaceship aboard her brother and other astronauts is said to have lost contact, the spacecraft is said to have exploded after being hit by a space object and all the astronauts were declared dead.
