Panic Scientists

Everyone stared at Dimas who operated a holographic projection on the table with great ease. As the great scientists of the state all these scientists have seen various holographic projections from different countries, but all those holographic projections are just garbage in front of Dimas' holographic projections. Whether it is from the level of object realization or even the touch technology that makes Dimas can interact with holographic projections freely far in front of all holographic projections they have ever seen before.

Dimas ignored the gazes of all the strange-looking scientists and shared the projected research papers and records to everyone in the laboratory. Everyone picks it up but feels nothing in their hands but the papers in their hands always follow their hand movements just like the original paper does, one of the scientists slightly pressed the holographic projection paper and saw it slightly wrinkled to amaze everyone.

"According to my research, there's a gene I call the zerg gene in every zerg I've ever studied. This zerg gene is arguably a very reliable imitator where they can imitate other organisms to the genetic level that eventually makes their shape the same as the organism that is imitated"

"Although mimicking other organisms the zerg gene will not produce the same organism that it mimics, they only use these organisms as an early form and gradually evolve to become more advanced there is even a possibility of becoming a creature with advanced intelligence like a human"

"For the origin of this zerg myself I guessed that the meteor that hit Earth earlier carried a zerg gene that eventually spread across Earth. I had previously visited two meteor debris sites that were near my family's personal shelter, but what I found from both of them was not meteor debris but a tree with green veins that I call a zerg nest. I have simulated back meteor collisions using videos that I took when the meteor collision occurred as the basis and to my surprise there were hundreds of meteor fragments spreading around the world, if my guess is correct then in a few years the zergs will continue to evolve and evolve into new true things where they will have strong attacking intent, rapid expansion of brain capacity, he said, and it is likely that they will develop advanced intelligence like humans. In addition, the further the zerg evolves, the more powerful the zerg's physical genes will be, they will have scales or shells that are very hard, have heat or cold resistance to some extent, it's even possible to withstand a nuclear weapons attack and there are many special capabilities that I haven't detected"

Dimas finished talking and saw that the expression of every scientist became very ugly to look at, they were all aware of the crisis the world might face from what Dimas explained and also from the research papers and notes in entirely reasonable hands.

"Is this gene harmful to humans? Do they carry a virus or something that allows infected humans to zerg?" One of the scientists named professor Surya asked after reading the paper in his hand.

Dimas nodded and said "the zerg gene does have a virus that makes it possible to infect other living things including humans to be part of the zerg, which is a virus, but the virus can only be implanted directly by zerg and won't be able to spread through the air"

"So you could say that this zerg gene has a virus like the zombie virus in the film which if you get a bite or scratch it will be infected?" Ask the other scientist, Professor Eko.

Dimas gave a nod in response. Although Dimas did not say anything yet because he nodded his head it made everyone have some fear. 

As the scientists were still digesting what Dimas explained the sound of the collision sounded from the iron cage that locked the two zergs that left everyone shocked. A bolder scientist took a long stick prepared to open the black cloth covering the cage, the scene inside was the two zergs biting and clawing at each other as if the two were enemies who had long been vengeful of each other and wanted to kill each other.

"Hurry to stop the two, shoot with the anesthetic and then separate the two!" Other scientists said in panic to other scientists.

A shotgun with an anesthetic bullet was prepared near the cage, one of the scientists immediately took the rifle and aimed at the fighting zerg inside the cage. An anesthetic hit one of the two and made the resistance weaken, as the scientist was about to fire an anesthetic bullet for the other zerg, the Zerg first took advantage of the situation and immediately bit the neck of the affected zerg anesthetized so that his head was cut off from his body. 

Seeing one of the zergs dead made the scientist holding the anesthetic rifle cancel his shot, they all noticed that the remaining zerg was now eating the zerg that he had killed before without any care for the human who was staring at him from outside the iron cage.

"He's doing cannibalism!" Professor Surya said with a pale face.

Other scientists also have the same expression as professor Surya, even some people who can not stand the scene of cannibalism performed by zerg look like vomiting and immediately turn their eyes in the other direction. For Dimas himself he stared at the zerg who ate the other zerg seriously then took the stun gun to shoot the zerg.

It fired three live rounds and rendered the zerg unconscious. No one spoke, some people including Dimas slowly approached the iron cage to take a closer look at the zerg inside. The dead Zerg left only half of his lower body releasing a blackish-green liquid that seemed to be the blood from the zerg.

"They lack the energy to evolve so they have to eat each other to meet the needs of evolution" Dimas said in a quiet voice but could still be heard clearly by everyone in the biology lab.

"Preferably transfer this zerg to a stronger iron cage, use an iron cage capable of confining several bears to confine this zerg, and let him remain in the cold room to slow its growth" Dimas turned to face the scientists and immediately issued various orders to them.

Even so because Dimas knew more about the zerg these scientists immediately contacted the soldiers outside and repeated what Dimas ordered. Not until 15 minutes later a new cage was dragged towards the laboratory, the iron cage capable of resisting the attack from an adult bear was immediately filled with zergs that looked like adult-sized ants and covered with black cloths to prevent him from seeing the scene outside. The remaining zerg bodies are also not wasted and further research will be conducted to learn more about the zerg.
