Episode 139 You've Changed

By late afternoon, Vara had fallen asleep on the couch in Briley's nursery. It was clearly a tired look on her beautiful face, making Bry who was sitting blocked by Vanny and Sharon, worried to see Vara. Brandon and Samuel, who were sitting across from Bry and Sharon, felt sorry for Bry and Vara, who were clearly not doing well. Since Bry's arrival, the atmosphere of the room turned a little tense, although Jayden was immediately quiet because there were still many patients waiting for him.

Since Bry came, Vara always seemed to shy away from Bry. Avoiding eye contact even brushed Bry's hand away whenever Bry was about to help Vara take care of Briley. Bry does not protest or ask, as he thinks Vara is still angry with Celline's sudden appearance.

'I know you're angry, honey, but you should know too, that I never like to see you close to other men.' Inner Bry.

Bry glimpsed a look of dislike on Vanny's face which stared intensely at her face.

"Vanny, why are you looking at me like that?

A cynical smile immediately fell on Vanny's face, making Bry both astonished and annoyed by the behavior of his wife's best friend.

"Ah it feels really annoying to see a dime drama since. A husband who acts as if he cares about his sick son, but I know for a fact that he has just met another woman behind his wife."

Vanny's words not only stuck right in Bry's chest, but also shocked Brandon, Sharon, and Samuel.

"What do you mean Vanny?"

Bry asked because he still did not understand Vanny's words, even though his bad thoughts had crossed, if Vara knew of his meeting with Celline.

"That's Bry, don't act too much. Vara knows, if you meet another woman, even you take her to the rooftop restaurant."

Bry's heart felt hit by a big hammer, his lips felt faint. What he was worried about happened as well.

"You betrayed my cousin?"

Sharon's question to the point was immediately answered by Bry.

"No. I never and never will betray Vara."

Bry who was slightly screaming, made Vara wake up from his sleep.

"What the hell is bothering me. Can't I sleep well for a minute."

Vara stared intently at Bry who was looking at his wife's sad face that looked very upset. Brandon beckoned everyone to come out of the room, to give Bry and Vara time to discuss their issues. Sharon, Samuel and Vanny follow Brandon out of the treatment room.

Vara closed her eyes again, trying to rest her body and mind. Actually, Vara was lazy to hear Bry's explanation, so he preferred to go back to sleep. Bry approached Vara and sat right next to Vara.

“Darling, open your eyes. I want to explain something.”

Vara is still reluctant to open her eyes because she does not want to hear Bry's explanation which Vara thinks is no longer important.

“Please open your eyes, I know you are not sleeping.”

Bry touches Vara's thigh slowly, but Vara has no intention of opening her eyes. Bry sighed before starting to explain to Vara.

“That woman was called Celline, she was my ex-lover while studying in England. I dated him for 6 months, I broke up with him, because he was having an affair with a wealthy businessman who was married. I haven't seen him in 5 years, I don't know what he's doing in Jeju, I don't care."

Vara's eyes were still closed even though her ears were so clear at Bry's explanation.

“Darling, please don't be angry anymore. Never doubt my feelings for you, I would never possibly betray you with any woman.”

Bry began to get upset because Vara continued to ignore her who had long explained the truth.

“Zivara, I said wake up. Listen to me and respect me as your husband.”

Bry's voice that sounded loud and more like a clash instantly made Vara inevitably open her eyes. But Vara's gaze was extremely sharp, blasting right at Bry's bead of eyes that also held back emotions.

“Stop explaining anything I don't want to hear.”

“You should listen to my explanation, stop being angry about something unimportant. It's not the first time you've been mad at me for something I didn't do. You choose to shut up and leave instead of hearing my explanation."

Vara answered with emotions starting to peak. Bry gripped Vara's arm, making Vara grimace in pain. Vara was very surprised by what Bry did.

'You changed Bry.' Inner Vara.

“You speak as you please, as if I have truly betrayed you. If you mean our problem first, you need to remember, I was framed. And earlier, I did not see Celline, I accidentally met her in the corridor of the hotel. Honestly, I asked him to speak at the hotel rooftop because he wanted to warn him not to bother me anymore.”

“What is it necessary to take you to a quiet place?”

Vara is still overwhelmed by emotions, Bry's grip is still strong in Vara's hands.

“What quiet place? That's a restaurant, there's a lot of people.”

Bry's emotions began to drop, his gaze turning heartily. Vara looked at his arm that was still gripped by Bry.

"Get your hand off."

Bry followed Vara's line of sight, Bry, who had just noticed his rude actions, immediately took off his hand grip on Vara's arm. Vara's hands were flushed, making Bry feel very guilty. Bry's hand turned to hold Vara's hands and kissed her slowly.

"Dear, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I hurt you."

Vara pulled her hand from Bry's grasp.

"Don't hold my hand, you'd be happier when your hand is held by that woman."

Bry was speechless at Vara's words, a little surprised that Vara even found out when Celline was holding her hand.

“She only holds my hand, no more.”

“Then you expect him to do what else? Hugged you? Kiss you?

“Varaaa.”

Bry shouted loudly calling his wife's name without calling Dear, because he was not happy with Vara's words. But his voice instantly woke Briley from her deep sleep.

Vara immediately approached Briley and held her. Vara clutches Briley's body and tries to calm her child, but Briley's cries don't stop. Bry approaches and takes Briley from Vara's arms, and Briley is affectionately carried. Not for 10 seconds, Briley's cries stopped, even Briley fell asleep again.

Relief clearly radiated from Bry's face, Vara looked at Briley wistfully. Bry immediately put Briley back to bed. Bry hugged Vara's body tightly and kissed Vara's head. While Vara just silently pecked, did not return Bry's embrace at all.

Suddenly Vara's phone rang, making Vara take off Bry's embrace on her. Then Vara picked up her phone that was in the bag. Vara slightly frowned as she looked at the unknown number that appeared on her phone.

'Looks like a Korean number.' Inner Vara.

The look on Vara's face turned cloudy, the emotion was clearly visible on Vara's face which a moment ago had looked sad. Vara's sharp gaze right rained down on Bry's bead of eyes, leaving Bry feeling astonished and wondering who was calling. And Vara's next words made Bry round his eyes perfectly.

"OKs..See you's..Celluline.."
