THE LUNCH IN TURIN

"Why are you smiling?" Adrian probed Nadine's face, who was smiling to himself.

"There is a ban on smiling people? I'm just happy to be taught to walk because I've never been here,"

For the first time, Nadine can steal time for a moment of refreshing after being hit by various problems in recent months. Although the initial visit to Turin was to bring her brother home, at least Nadine had the opportunity to tour and walk through the city of Turin so she could relax.

"Do you like it here?" Adrian lowered his head to look at Nadine who was not up to his shoulder height.

"Who tries to not like it? Turin is beautiful too, I love the crowd. The weather here is also good because we come during the summer!" a faint smile emanated on Nadine's tired face.

"You're weird! Usually, women hate heat the most. But you're different, like it hot!"

Arriving at the restaurant, Adrian immediately spoke to one of the waitress there and asked him to find a special seat for two people.

"Adrian.can't we sit outside, which is on the side of the road so we can see people passing by?"

Adrian hesitates to agree with Nadine's request, as he prefers to sit in a more private place. But since Adrian doesn't want to make Nadine sad, he will let Nadine decide.

"Yes already, I can. We'll sit there then!" Adrian refers to an empty chair facing the street makes Nadine become excited made.

"It's not hard to make you happy. Just enough to go out to eat like this, your mood immediately increased drastically!!" adrian said when both of them sat down.

"It's because I haven't traveled in a long time. That's why I'm using this moment for a thin vacation."

"What do you want to order?" ask Adrian while flipping through the available food menu

"No idea, you chose it! All the food I like, as long as it's not shrimp or crab. I have an allergy,"

"Are you allergic to seafood?"

Adrian nodded in understanding. After picking through the menu, he pointed his finger at the restaurant waiter. Bruschetta, agnolotti, and brasato al barolo are the foods he chose to eat. Not to forget, Adrian also asked two bottles of mineral water to drink it.

One thing that made Nadine stunned by surprise, namely Adrian's fluency in Italian. The proof, when ordering all the food was Adrian using Italian.

"You speak Italian? What food did you order?"

"Yes, I speak quite fluently in Italian. And for what I ordered earlier, it was all a recommended menu at this restaurant. He is known as a favorite dish in Turin. Hope it fits on your tongue!"

"Woww.You're like a pro!" praise Nadine.

"Actually this restaurant belongs to one of my old friends. We met at university, her name was Luca."

"That means you've been here before?"

"Luca's restaurant is the concept of a franchise that is everywhere. I visited his restaurants in Rome and Naples. But in Turin, this is the first time. Luca was my major friend. We both graduated with the same degree, namely economics and business. The difference is, the range he is more focused on culinary majors. While I leaned into the field of real estate, architecture and contractors," explained Adrian at length.

Nadine was amazed, "That's awesome!"

"What about you? You used to be a teacher, right at a special needs school?" ask Adrian back.

"The job as a kindergarten teacher was only a temporary interlude when I went to college to fill the time gap. Because I like kids. They are so adorable and hard to resist!" nadine answered honestly.

The food menu that had been ordered finally came on the sidelines of their conversation. The two waitresses in charge of serving food do so quite carefully because it is still hot.

"Why see me that way? It's eaten!" Adrian noticed Nadine's gaze watching him.

"I'm happy because we can have a normal conversation like this. Usually you and I talk too often! Thank you for entertaining me!" Nadine.

Adrian just responds normally, "Take your food! After this we'll take another walk somewhere else."

"Okay."

Both of them also immediately enjoy eating food that smells alone is quite appetizing.
