...ADRIAN...
Have you ever loved someone so much that every time you looked at him, a piece of your heart would swell with joy just because of his presence in this world full of stage plays?
That's what I feel right now.
I stared fixedly at my two children who were still lying weakly in the NICU room together with Nadine who was sitting on a wheelchair at this time. The distance between us was separated by a wall of glass. Netraku and Nadine are both fixated on beauty and wonder right in front of the eyes.
Nadine has been hospitalized for 3 days. And so do my children. The doctor said their condition was getting better. It's just not allowed to go home because his endurance is still weak.
Seeing the fruit of my love for Nadine, this great happiness is so great. Like seeing the sun so dazzling, thrilling, yet illuminating the whole heart. I dissolved in endless admiration when I realized that these two little babies were mine.
Yes, mine. My two sons, and my two proud.
If a few months ago you said that I would be happy when I got married and had children, maybe I would laugh out loud at that joke you made.
But now, everything has changed. My life has changed.
I'm happy with the marriage I'm in. I feel blessed and loved. I am happy to have Nadine. I am also happy that the status of an official father is pinned on me now.
I can't imagine how messed up my life would be without Nadine. She's a blessing in a disguise. My woman, and also my favorite.
"Have you thought about their names?" Nadine turned her head back to look at me.
"I did." I answered briefly.
"Since when? You've never discussed it with me?" Nadine pretended to put on her upset face which to me looked adorable.
I pinched Nadine's cheek gently. "It's spontaneous. I just found a name that suits them yesterday exactly. We both didn't know their gender before, did we? So I made it an impromptu."
"So you carelessly look for names for our children, from the search capital on the internet?"
"Yes not Nadine. Just so you know, I'm willing to buy a lot of books specifically for baby names. How can you say I'm a name-cloak. It's delicious!" irked me.
"I'm kidding baby.emosi mulu the hell you are!"
"His team always fished first. I know I'm temper and impatient, still..."
It's not Nadine's name if she doesn't test my patience every hour, minute, and second. Fortunately I love.
"So tell me the names.I'm curious!" Nadine rubbed her eyelashes and smiled sweetly at me.
Unconsciously I was lulled by my wife's beautiful smile so that I suddenly shut up, not responding to her question. The hazel-brown eyes of the woman in front of me are always sparkling when I invite her to interact.
How could I not fall in love with her more?
"Hey.are you quiet? Let's answer! Tell me, what's our son's name?" Nadine shook my hand back and forth, urging me to say it.
"Seriously you want to hear? You don't care if I give names to our two children?"
I wanted to make sure first whether Nadine objected or not if I was the one who gave the name to the fruit of our love. Because all this time Nadine was so excited and obsessed with naming our son. Every pillowtalk before bed, Nadine would babble all night talking about the name of the child.
Nadine seemed to think for a moment while tapping her fingers on her chin. "Hmmm, at first upset anyway because you are the one who gave the name. I have been pregnant with them for 7 months. I also took great pains to bring them into this world. You did not want to accept the presence-"
"I'm sorry okay...I was joking.." Nadine tightened her upper and lower lips tightly.
"But it's not funny." My reflexes displayed a flat expression.
Nadine rolled her eyes lazily. "Okay.okay.just let it go! For our son's name this time I'll be approved. You can give them a name, because I myself have not thought of the right name now. But next time we have another child, I'll give you his name."
Suddenly my eyes widened shocked to hear his statement just now. Have another child? Not wrong? These two are just born and can not even go home, but my wife has discussed wanting to have a baby again.
"Wait a minute. What makes you think that we're going to have another child? No Nadine, two is more than enough. After this you have to join the birth control program." I do not agree and reject the invitation to have more children.
"But we don't have a daughter yet, dear I want a daughter." he whined in a spoiled tone.
Nadine knows my weak point. Just him, he's the one whose request I always follow and I can't refuse. Strange no! That is a fact.
I asked him to negotiate, "Two is more than enough. I no longer want to be tormented to see the suffering you struggle between life and death in childbirth. That was enough for Nadine yesterday! Two is a lot."
"That's..Mama Diana was her 4th child, she was strong! I should be able to dong?!" expostulation.
"Every woman's body is different, Nadine. Don't equate you with your mom. Definitely not the same! You are not a cat that likes to produce many children. Just two!" I argue back.
"We can talk about that again later, okay?! I know you're angry and your emotions are unstable. So it's free to talk to, I'll wait until you calm down." Nadine told me without giving me a chance to answer.
Before I cut back Nadine said, "Now let's say, whose name are they?"
Silence hung between us for a moment. Not a word came out of his mouth. I then crouched down to level my body as high as Nadine's wheelchair.
"I'll name the brother Kylian Ranggani Natadipura. Which means, a soldier from the Natadipura family who is endowed with intelligence and gets blessings from God."
"What a beautiful name." Nadine gently rubbed the side of my left face. "If it's for the sister, what's her name?"
"Malakai Jaladra Natadipura."
Nadine pulled the corner of her lips over the happy sign. "I love that name. What's the meaning behind it?"
"Little angel who is able to cool the heart and as a bright light in the Natadipura family."
Nadine cupped my cheeks then moved her face to kiss my lips at a glance. "So it's official then, Kylian and Malakai?" nadine asked again to be sure.
I got Nadine's hands on my face. "We can call them by even shorter names if it is an extension. Like a beloved call. Do you have any advice?"
Nadine cleared her throat as she occasionally stared at our babies from behind this transparent glass. "Hm..how about Kylian become Kian, then Malakai will be shortened to Kai? It's Kian and Kai!" nadine said enthusiastically.
I also nodded in agreement with it. Our son's full name is both I gave. So I didn't want to be selfish, so I also engaged Nadine to make our children's nicknames.
"I like that...Kian and Kai. Our boys..."
