Second Road

Second Road
Episode 7: Who am I?

"Yes, this kid is very important. Because he's our best object for now and we need to find him soon." The man called maheer put on a serious look.

No.this is critical. Am I gonna end up here soon? Miracle, please come and help me...

"A child? What does it look like? Maybe I can ease your work a little bit." Grandpa folded his hands in front of his chest.

So, just directly the man next to Maheer took out a piece of photo and extended it to grandfather.

Die me, maybe grandfather will hand me over to them because grandfather knows them. Do I have to run away from here now? But it will be caught immediately. So, now how should it be?

"This.., it's impossible." Grandfather looked at the photo carefully. Maybe it was my picture? I can't see it from this far. And if that's true, maybe it'll all be over.

My heart beats so fast because of fear. My breath became congested, as if the air would not enter the chest cavity again.

"How come? Her hair...white?"

Did I not hear wrong? White hair? Meaning..good, they don't know my current image yet.

"Yes, you must have heard of Mr. Aries. White hair in youth, marie antonitte syndrome." Maheer explained briefly.

"So marie antonitte syndrome yes. And I didn't think he could run away from you. Wasn't agnes a very strict person before? But I don't think I've ever seen a kid like this."

Thankfully, Grandpa didn't tell them about me. Or maybe Grandpa didn't realize it? Hair color can make you look very different. Especially if the color is very contrasting.

"However, sir? Thank you for taking a little of your time. Oh, and you're always welcome if you want to join us." The man named maheer looked at grandfather with a friendly smile.

"Yes, maybe I'll think about it later. Can I bring this photo? This syndrome is very rare. You know what I mean, right? Ah, and please leave your phone number as well if I change my mind."

The man took out a pen from his pocket and wrote something in the photo.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. aries. And one more thing, if you meet the boy, then you have to be careful. Actually he was a monster."

Maheer narrowed his eyes and put on a smile that seemed mysterious. Then the two of them passed, exiting the parking area.

For about five minutes, Grandfather did not move from where he was standing. I finally returned to Grandpa's place after making sure they had properly left.

Grandpa looked at me who was approaching him. I don't know what to say if it's like this. The situation is really difficult.

"Anu, grandpa.me..."

"What's wrong, get in the car first."

My leg stepped with a broken fracture, in this awkward state the car we were riding in felt very slow. Not even the radio was turned on.

I just kept staring at my own feet. The pleasure of this day seemed to disappear instantly just because it met the two people.

"We still have time, how about going to the city park for a bit?"

Grandfather started the conversation, and it surprised me a little. I nodded without saying a word.

He didn't ask me anything about the person he met or why I ran away from him. Or is it possible that grandfather just thinks that I'm afraid of strangers? My brain cannot be thought. Everything is runyam.

After ten minutes, the car slowed down. Then pull over and stop completely. Grandpa got out of the car and I followed right behind him.

"Have you ever been here?"

"Maybe.no." I answered briefly.

"You don't seem sure, are you still thinking about what happened? Let's sit down first. Ah, do you want crepes? Wait here for a minute."

Grandpa left me and went to the food truck. I chose to find the nearest park bench and sat down. The atmosphere was very comfortable, I could feel the blowing of the afternoon wind and the sunlight that had started to dim. The sound of the laughter of young children from the play area was clearly heard.

They look very happy to ride the slide and swing. I felt a little envious, I never laughed like that at their age.

For a moment, there was a sense of regret that burst out from the chest. It feels a little sore and tight. I can only accept that now. I am a weak person. I get jealous easily, get angry easily and fall asleep easily. All I have is meaningless vices.

"Now, I picked a banana for you." Grandfather stretched out one of the crepes rolls he carried. On top of that there's ice cream and banana pieces. I've never eaten this before.

"Come, try."

"yeah, hm.this..enak..."

My eyes grew bigger as the first mouthful slid into my mouth. The ice cream melts when it touches the tongue and the crepes are also sweet. It was like being in heaven, because I was a sweet lover.

"Thank God you like it. Mm... Haru, about that matter, I want you to say something about it."

Deg, why now? When I started to forget it?

"I'm sure you're the kid in this picture." Grandpa took out a picture from his pocket. There was a white-haired, big-eyed boy with black irises there. Yeah, it was me.

But wait, how did Grandpa know? Shouldn't she not think it was me because her hair color was different?

"What do you mean, cake? Isn't her hair different?" I'm trying to make excuses.

"Haru, listen. I am your grandfather now and you are my grandson. I'm sure this is you. At first I didn't mind your background, but it turned out to be a bigger problem. So now be honest with me."

Grandfather mentioned all his intentions very clearly. I can't dodge it. I can only look down while being silent. I'm not sure I can be honest with him, being honest with myself is a little difficult. You see, I'm a coward.

"Haru, I'll help you. I'm not gonna let you stay like this. Didn't I promise you I'll get you anything you need?"

I was still silent, not knowing what kind of response to give. I can't think calmly.

" So tell me everything so I know what you need. Tell me from the beginning and it means right from the beginning. It's also for you. If you don't like being there then I won't let them take you."

Grandpa stroked my head slowly.

"It's okay, Haru. Just tell me everything." Grandfather started to soften, he showed his smile sincerely.

There's no other choice, I'll tell you everything.

"Well, I understand the cluck is worried about me. Thank you, but can I tell you at home? I feel a little uncomfortable."

"Huh.., okay. If it makes you happy."

All the past events that I do not want to reveal will soon be painted clearly. Those nightmare-like memories will continue to hold my life. And the path of destiny that connects today and yesterday will harden so that it cannot be broken again.

This mortal world continues to take away happy days, so that even golden light can no longer touch. I don't know what life will be like.
