Second Road

Second Road
Episode 21: The crazy bullet

"Well, are you ready?" Arya looked at me once more, making sure that I was ready.

"Yes." Yeah." I answered briefly, while breathing. My heart beats a little faster, thumping no more.

"So, let's get started." He looked at me more seriously, his gaze as if it was degrading my existence.

I nodded, in agreement that I was ready.

"Alright, the bacteria that cause typhus." Arya.

"Salmonella thyposa." My reply.

"Cancer-causing bacteria on citrus trees."

"Xanthomono citri."

"Bacteria that cause whooping cough."

"Bordetella pertussis."

We continue to discuss the previous lesson. Yes, today there's a biological replay of the bacteria, and Arya was helping me study this morning before class started.

I've missed a lot, it's because I just entered school after almost half a semester has passed.

"You're good too." He closed the book he had held since. We stopped after he asked about fifty types of bacteria.

"That's because you're the one who's good at teaching me." I said while exhaling a sigh of relief at having managed to answer everything.

"In this way, you're ready for a repeat. Haru, sometimes I wonder at you. Just read it once, but you've memorized it. Are you sure you still need to study with me?" Arya propped up her chin with her hands on the table.

"Sure, you're very helpful." Saying again.

Classes were empty this morning. Only a few new students came. Even the morning sunlight is not fully visible.

Last night, I asked Arya to arrive early by phone. I need his help to learn.

Yesterday, I learned absolutely nothing. I was too busy with Allen, I even slept with him. I was surprised, we could be close enough in just a few days.

Crick...

The classroom door opened, some students entered the classroom. And there's one face I know very well, it's Yuna. He was carrying a large bag, unlike the one he used to carry.

"Yuna, good morning." I said as soon as he passed in front of me.

The chest-length haired girl finally reappeared after not coming two days ago.

He looks a little withered, probably exhausted. But, what he did before this until he looked lethargic like that.

"Morning." Answer's short.

Yuna looks a little different than I remember, there are eye bags on her face. He carried the bag like a black rectangular box.

The bag did not look like it was often used by him. The bag he was carrying was placed on the table.

"Where were you yesterday? Lily's looking for you." Arya rebuked as Yuna prepared to sit in her chair.

"Little competition only." He replied as he exhaled slowly, leaning his back on the back of the chair.

"Competition? Likewhat? Is it the Olympics or some kind of sporting event?" Askaqua.

I could never guess what kind of person Yuna was. She's a little fierce, often sour-faced and turns super nice if there's a Lily. Actually Yuna is beautiful, just a stingy smile. Unique people, right?

"Well, just a simple competition. Shoot." He opened the big bag in front of him.

"Want to see something cool?" The corner of his lips lifted, forming a smile.

Yuna pulled out a big shotgun that I had never seen before. It was black, quite large and looked dangerous.

"What do you think? This is TAC-50 McMillan. Made in America, the farthest shooting distance can reach 2.4 km. Using the largest bullet size, it could even penetrate the bodies of two people at once. Cool, right?" Clearly with pride.

I watched the rifle. It never occurred to me that a girl like Yuna was used to playing with such a murder rifle.

"This is my favorite rifle, the speed is also good for the size of the sniper rifle. And I won the competition with this." Continue while touching the tip of the gun with the tip of his fingers.

"Don't just take it out, people can think you're a criminal." Arya said jokingly.

"I know, after all, they already know this, right." Yuna put the big gun back in her big bag with her heart.

That's right, none of the students in this class looked shocked or scared when Yuna took out the rifle. Everything looked relaxed, it seemed like everyone already knew Yuna's shooting talent.

"Oh, Haru. Do you know what Yuna called a sniper? They call him the Mad Bullet. Cool right? The nickname he got because of his incredible shot accuracy." Arya went back to sleep, making Yuna's cheeks blush red. The girl seemed embarrassed by that nickname.

Compared to cool, the nickname Crazy Bullet was more impressed like a killing maniac than a great sniper. Even so, it was still a good achievement.

"Yuna, why did you take her to school? Ah, I mean that rifle. TAC-50 Mcmillan's. You could get in trouble." I said again.

"I haven't been home yet, I just got here at five in the morning with a school invitation. It's my responsibility to go home, so I take a bath at school and go straight to class. No problem, right? After all I am the school envoy for this competition." Obviously Yuna.

Oh, so so it is. Yuna is the school's envoy. And the reason he was not present during the class was this, following the shooting competition. He also claimed to have won a medal in the competition.

I don't know when he learned to shoot. I really am envious. I don't have any talent, or maybe I don't know what my talent is. Yuna is amazing for her size.

Teng...Teng...Teng...

The sound of school bells echoed throughout the room. It was a sign that the first hour was about to start.

The first hour is biology, the repetition is carried out right after the teacher absents the students one by one.

The repetition went well, twenty questions about various things related to bacteria I did smoothly. Biology is not just about rote, but about how you know and know about the many things that live in this world.

I like this lesson enough. It only takes one or two times to read, I already remember and understand. Maybe it's my special ability, it's easy to remember things.

I love to read and remember every part of that reading is part of reading. I remember the first book I read as a child.

At rest hours...

At half-eleven in the afternoon, you know what that means, right? The lesson will pause for a moment and you can do anything to fill it.

I should have come to the cafeteria with Arya so the bells of the break were two minutes ago. Unfortunately, we can't go there right now to just fill a hungry stomach.

Yuna asked me and Arya to accompany her to Lily's class exactly one second after the bell rang. Two days ago, Lily wanted to meet Yuna and look for her to our class.

However, Yuna was nowhere. So now Yuna was the one who approached Lily. I don't understand their friendship. I rarely see Yuna talking to any other hadith besides Lily. Is Lily that special?

And because Yuna was not used to talking to other girls in our class, it was Arya and I who were asked to accompany her.

I think I understand why Yuna rarely talks to other girls in our class. Yuna was a little fierce, sour-faced and also often close to something dangerous like a rifle.

That's not a typical girl. You know what I mean, girls are usually gentle, smile a lot and do what a girl does.

Then, Yuna and Arya had been friends for a long time, since elementary school. That's what Arya said. Their parents also know each other so they are close and good friends.

And about Lily, I don't know much. Arya never said anything and I never asked them directly.

"Do we have to knock on the door first?" Yuna muttered as soon as we got to the front of Lily's class, 1-E grade.

"Lily usually just breaks through." Arya replied with a tone of voice that did not care much. He was upset that he was forced to come, but he wanted to sit in the cafeteria and eat a special lunch package with a tempura shrimp menu today.

"Why do I call someone? Or if you want, you can come in." A short-haired girl opened the classroom door and greeted us kindly.

"Te.thank you." Yuna buru replied.

The three of us stepped in and tried to find Lily. Hopefully he's still in class and hasn't gone to the cafeteria yet.

"Hi! In here!" And sure enough, Lily's still in class. He waved his hand, begging us to come to his place.

The girl was talking to two men and a woman. We approached him who was smiling broadly at us. Well, that's how Lily always seems to shine in every situation.

"Well, Yun Yun has come, there is Arya and Haruru as well." He said happily.

"Ah, I'd like to introduce you to my classmates. This is Yuna, my best friend. Next to her Arya and this one Haru."

Lily mentioned our names one by one. Thank goodness he introduced me as Haru, not Haruru. I'd be ashamed if that happened.

"And they're my classmates. This one's Tania, it's Jun and this is Evan." Lily said excitedly.

The girl seemed happy to be able to bring her classmates together with her other friends. But honestly I'm not happy. Ever since I got into this class, I realized something.

That guy Lily called Evan made me feel like I was freezing. I'm sure he's someone I know. Yeah, it was him because he kept looking at me, which means he recognized me.

My heart beats faster, making me flutter less. Various pieces of memory sprung up in my head. My breathing became heavy, cold sweat began to form.

"Oh, so your name is Haru, yes." Said the man with a smile that looked horror in my eyes.

I retreated slowly, fragments of past memories flooded my brain. Fear and trauma haunted me when I saw the man.

Without caring about anything, I ran away from them. I'm not too sure what's going on with me, but I've rediscovered one part of my bad past before I lived in an orphanage.
