Second Road

Second Road
Episode 28: It will begin

Maybe not even a minute bell ringing. But I've been ready to go home since. I've all sorted out.

"Hey, wait a minute. Don't rush it so. We go home together."

Meanwhile, Arya stuffed her books and stationery into the bag in a hurry. My steps stopped because of his screams.

Immediately, he caught up with me who was already standing in front of the classroom door.

"Come on!" take me as soon as he arrives.

My short legs stepped quickly past the other students who were also fresh out of their class.

"Why is the hunt so? Are you worried about something?" Tegur Aryan's.

He followed my footsteps that I made as big as possible so that my path would be faster.

"Are you worried about those two people? You know what I mean, right?" Added.

I nodded slowly, admitting it. That's right, I'm afraid I'll see Evan and Gavin again. I don't understand why, but I've been worried all day.

I'd be worried if I'd see them again. I thought I had cut ties with them since I was taken to the orphanage.

"You didn't do anything wrong, did you? So don't worry. Even if I don't know what your problems are, but I'll keep defending you. We're friends, right?" Aryan.

"Umm.., I guess so." I doubt in doubt.

"You don't believe me?"

"Not so. I believe it."

The rest of the time we spent in silence. There's not much to say right now, or maybe I'm just afraid to talk.

"Arya, I'm first."I said as soon as we got in front of the gate.

Arya nodded, while I ran a little run leaving her.

"How's school?" Grandpa asked as he took the glass of water beside his plate.

"Good." Answer's short.

Tonight, we had dinner together. Food on the table. There's me, Grandpa and Allen here. Allen is crazy about cooking. I don't know when she likes to cook.

Whereas when grandfather wasn't home a few days ago, we used to buy fast food more often, or if we were too lazy to get out, the last solution was to boil instant noodles.

Instant noodles are always a lifesaver in times of precariousness or when you are lazy to do something. I'm not an instant noodle devotee, even though it tastes good. But I'd be honest, instant noodles are like a second life if there's no food in the house.

But it's not good for health. That's what grandfather always said because he's a researcher who knows a lot about things. Sometimes I eat bread in the closet.

"So, Haru. What decision? Are you really sure you're going to follow the method I told you yesterday?" Grandfather went back to talking about my growth normalization method again.

"Yes, I'll do it. So, when can we start?" I asked while picking up the kale stir-fry that was inside the white porcelain bowl.

"Tomorrow afternoon? Are you ready?" Grandpa put the spoon he was holding onto the edge of the plate, then looked at me for a moment.

"Tomorrow afternoon? How's school?" Reply reflexes.

What about my school? Will the teacher allow me not to come? What about PR for tomorrow? Ah, the question directly flooded my head.

"You can take two or three days off, no problem. If you're worried about missing a lesson because of that, you can ask Allen to help you learn, he's pretty smart." Bright grandpa.

I nodded in reverence. If Grandpa says no problem, it's okay. Why two or three days? Will it take a long time?

"Lumayan? Grandpa, I'm more than that. I'm the first student to challenge his lecturer this semester and I'm the first student to graduate with perfect grades this semester." Allen Protest.

I just remember, he once said that he could come here because he challenged his lecturer to a presentation duel around his college materials. Somehow he started it until he could challenge his own lecturer.

And this is how it ended up, he beat his lecturer and could vacation 2 months faster than other students.

Very reckless, isn't it? What would happen if he lost at that time? Maybe he should say goodbye to the campus and stop there.

"There's no need to trouble Allen, I can study alone or ask Arya for help." I muttered while bribing the rice.

"Can't, you're underestimating me, right? I'll show you how great your brother is. And why would you even want to be taught by your friend if you had me?" Allen.

He added water to his glass with a heart, not a single drop of stuff spilled touching the surface of the table.

"No need." I said idly while putting on a flat facial expression.

"See you later, when I get back to college, I'll make you cry because you miss me." Reply Allen while glancing at me while narrowing his eyes.

"Not going to." My speech.

Lately, it's been a pleasure to lure Allen to anger. Well, even though the tip ends he was also the one who first invited me to talk after that.

I started to think that my life would be better after this.

At nine in the morning, I was relaxing in my room, sitting down while reading a thick book about mitochondria, which he said was the site of cellular respiration.

I found this book on my grandfather's large bookshelf which was a little dusty because the book was rarely read. I borrowed it and started reading it page by page.

My window was wide open so that the morning sunlight could enter, and fresh air could also flow in. A quiet and pleasant morning, read a book while hearing the great chirping of Brownis, the canary on the porch of the house.

Yesterday afternoon, I added bird food to his feeding container. The bird was bought by his grandfather two months ago, and was named Brownis.

Somehow grandfather gave the strange name, but the color or shape is not like a brownie. Its body is small and its fur is bright yellow.

That is, because of the window of my room which is directly facing the front yard, I can hear the sound of his great-grandson. Today I took my break from school activities, and now Allen is taking care of that part.

He came to school and asked permission from the school to let me down for two to three days. I'm sure now the school is in a frenzy because of his arrival.

When he drives me to school every morning, people stop to see him for a second. Some people will pay attention from afar, or some are stale asking for his phone number.

I saw him two or three times when he picked me up at school. Some of the girls at my school have also asked me directly about Allen and that's pretty annoying.

Is that how amazing Allen is? But I can understand that, blonde hair, green eyes, tall posture and a nice handsome face. Many people like such criteria and that is only natural.

And I started thinking that Allen and I were two different sides. Allen with all his advantages (except his nature) and I who was just an ordinary 14-year-old boy.

Fifteen minutes later, Allen returned. I ran to him who had just entered the house.

"Hows it? Does it matter if I take a day off?" I asked as soon as he sat on the living room sofa.

"The marche." Allen replied with a thumbs up.

"What does that mean?"

"It means 'to succeed' in French."

"You speak french?" My toot.

"Of course, my mother is French, so I also speak French. Didn't I say that before? Didn't you listen to me then?" Legally.

I shrugged, pura didn't know.

"Do you want to teach me a little French?" Bargain Allen.

I'm negguk.

"Then I will teach you something easy. Bonjour means 'hello' or 'good morning'.Merci means 'thank you', pardon! means 'sorry'. Then... Un frere means 'brother'." Clearly while smiling.

"Why is it so hard to say?" I said it when I tried to say it one by one.

"really? You're just not used to it." He answered lightly while leaning his back against the sofa.

"Have you not returned yet?" I asked while leaning on his back beside him.

This morning, grandfather went to his friend's house, where they researched the formula I was going to use. Grandfather said, the formula was there, so he came to pick her up.

I can't wait to start this method. I want to grow tall soon, grow up soon.

I hope I won't be disappointed.
