Chapter 49: Experiments

Alex and his remaining colleagues were eventually taken by an evacuation unit to a defense outpost and received further treatment there.

Julie slowly raised her hand and touched the creature's body, a light emerging from the touch as she began to close her eyes.

Moments later, Alex felt the bond between him and the creature weaken, his energy that had been steadily drained in large quantities slowly reduced until it finally stopped draining completely.

"It looks like it worked, doesn't it, Fenrir?"

"True sir."

"I think it worked, huh?" Alex asks Julie who started caressing the creature.

Julie nodded. "But giving it a name drains more energy than I thought."

"You gave him a name?"

"Yes, I give them a name every time I tie a contract." Obviously Julie.

No wonder anyway, just calling him was enough to drain Alex's energy, if this girl could tie a contract without draining energy, maybe she would call one of Bane's subordinates right now.

"What's his name?"

"... Arno."

Alex's face was confused. "Is there a special reason? How come I remember Arno who served in the north."
