Northern Continent, Chyrosian Kingdom.
The northern continent was facing an all-out onslaught from the demons, they were attacking the continent from various sides, which automatically made their communication access cut off with the other continents.
Even so, it should be that at this time the other continents felt that something was amiss as there was no development of news from the northern continent. When they realized the strange, they should immediately send an investigation team or something, but they also did not come.
Now they can only rely on themselves, whether what really happened, whether other continents experienced the same thing or instead they have fallen first. No one knows.
In just less than two months, the demons managed to make the northern continent ravaged, they destroyed everything indiscriminately no matter how many casualties fell. The story that is only considered a legend about the demon that nearly destroyed the northern continent has become an even more terrifying reality.
In fact there are only two great countries left in the north of the five great countries, namely Chyrosian and Galminos. They were now shoulder to shoulder against the demonic army that kept coming from all corners of the continent, wandering the remaining power of light leading in the front line, and, trying to inflame the spirit of the soldiers and volunteer soldiers who had begun to get tired of the war.
As the two countries go through a massive crisis, refugees from three other countries flock to the remaining two, while their resources dwindle as time goes on.
The border line of the Chyrosian Kingdom.
"ARGH! THEY ARE ENDLESS!" A man with black hair tied up cried out in frustration, whether this was how many times he had slashed the demon's body, he felt his hands start to numb.
"Defend Victor! They'll retreat after the sun goes down like it did!" Another man with dark red colored hair exclaimed back, but strangely he was impressed as if he was joking.
A golden great sword silhouette enveloped the man's sword, then with all his might he swung towards the incoming demons, making their bodies cut off and toppled to the ground.
Victor laughed blandly, a moment later a golden aura enveloped his body. "RAHHH!" He shook his sword, a sickle-shaped golden energy shot out from his slash, chopping up the bodies of the demons before him.
"From, that's your mouth. They keep coming like pests ...." Victor looked increasingly exhausted, the attack just now completely drained his strength.
"Looks ... When viewed from another perspective ... We are the pests ...." A man with a bulging body, he sat in the back line with one arm cut off.
"Be quiet Jacob, the sound of your breath being stung can somehow be heard clearly in the midst of this mess." A woman with blond hair tied up and green eyes left one scowled irritably, saying, visible remnants of the beauty of a nobleman from his dull face and his eye bandages were dirty by blood and dust.
"Hey, Sophia. How about we get married after all this is over?" One of the men with short hair was almost bald.
Sophia snorted dejectedly, "Dream it over there, Garreth."
Garreth laughed, "I wish it was a dream."
They were the soldiers left in the defensive line after a week in a row to dispel the onslaught of demons, among them the wandering power of light like Victor and Darius. Jacob was also supposed to be a wanderer of light power, but with a condition of severe injuries, he was not allowed to join the fight ahead.
"I wonder, did the people on other continents also die like this huh?" Garreth fended off the attack of one of the giant human-shaped demons with a dark body, fang teeth sticking out of his mouth that began to rot.
"It looks worse." Darius Sahut.
While the demonic waves kept coming, Sophia began to look exhausted, plus the wounds in her eyes gave her a disturbing pain. He retreated backwards and sat down near Jacob.
"Hey, Garreth ...."
"Hm?!" Garreth who was duelling with the dead body jumped back and turned to Sophia who somehow looked slightly red.
"If you manage to defeat the creature ... I'll consider what you said."
Garreth's eyes immediately lit up hearing Sophia's words, the look of tired eyes and his limp face gave its own charm that made the instinct to protect inside Garreth explode.
"UWOOGGHHH! YOU'RE A ROTTEN GIANT!" Garreth lunged at the undead once more, his stamina as if it had been restored, now that the creature was pressed by the successive attacks from Garreth's longsword.
"KHH! KHHHAARR!" The undead went berserk, he stepped forward when Garreth attacked him, it made Garreth lose momentum because he hesitated for a moment.
Just as Garreth was trying to pull back his longsword, the creature gripped Garreth's head and directly slammed him to the ground. As if not enough, he trampled on Garreth's body many times until Garreth's body slid into the ground.
Sophia was shocked to see the sight, she tried to get up and attack the creature before Jacob finally grabbed Sophia's arm and pulled it.
"Let me take care of it." Jacob took his sprawled axe, then ran with all his might towards the creature that was still trampling on Garreth's body. He exerted all his remaining strength and jumped up while raising his axe and directly smashed into the creature's head until it was crushed.
The large creature was uprooted, Jacob immediately checked Garreth's condition. He paused for a moment then looked towards Sophia and shook his head, Sophia who saw that screamed, she immediately ran towards the incoming demon wave and fought against them all out.
Victor laughed at that, "Fuck Garreth, you're taking that dead chick with you."
With Garreth dead, Jacob must fight back to maintain the formation, he throws his huge ship at the crowd of demons, two demons cut off at once because of Jacob's throwing power.
Then he took out the sword belonging to one of the soldiers lying down and started to plunge into the front line, helping Darius and the others.
"A LITTLE MORE!" Darius cried out to his comrades, the sun has reached the horizon. When the sun sank then they could breathe again.
"Fight is like there's no tomorrow, isn't it?" Victor whispered the words popularly used by the military in the north.
...****************...
Darius slashed the last undead head, the sun had sunk and the red sky was starting to turn dark.
He circled his gaze around, Jacob's condition looked worse, he was lying on the ground with an irregular gasp.
Victor sat leaning against the crumbling fortress wall while igniting a cigar, his beloved falchion worn out by the relentless fighting he laid by his side.
Sophia limped in with badly damaged armour, displaying incision and puncture wounds on her body, she then leaned her body against the fortress wall not far from Victor. From his frail face and faint breath, everyone knew he was just biding his time.
"Tomorrow is our last day." Darius said calmly, he stood facing the moon which was emitting a bluish light, forming the silhouette of an imposing soldier.
"For our lost comrades, for our country, for our continent, for our world. Let's fight as if there's no tomorrow for us."
His voice was so calm yet deep, the four remaining soldiers in the defensive post were silent and dissolved in their respective minds.
Sophia's body slowly slumped to the side, leaving a trail of blood on the wall she was leaning against.
"Rest, Sophia. You've fought so hard." Darius walked up to Sophia and sat leaning by her side.
Amidst the quiet and serene atmosphere, a weak voice from Sophia was heard. "Allow me ... Fighting ... Until the end ... Please ...."
Whether he was talking to Darius or praying, he might have been hallucinating in his last moments. A lot of people say that if you're going to see a flashback of your life before you die, maybe Sophia is going through that right now.
"Yes, Jacob! You don't have alcohol?" Victor asked Jacob who had started to get up and join them, leaning against the collapsed wall of the fortress.
Jacob shook his head weakly, then he leaned his head against the wall and closed his eyes. "It's a shame ... I've been out of alcohol since yesterday."
