Revenge of the Son of the Nobles

Revenge of the Son of the Nobles
Chapter 22: Finally

This afternoon, the Western Continent Alliance Academy was shocked by the news coming from the northern continent. One of the strongholds in the Chyrosian Empire which was also one of the headquarters of the Northern Continent Alliance branch, was attacked by something unknown, which was, everyone who was inside the fortress died tragically and strangely.

Based on the information in the newspapers, there was no sign of damage to the fort walls, nor was there any sign of the gate being breached. But strangely, found the former battle inside the fort, judging from the former battle that occurred, the fortress was actually attacked, not ambushed secretly. Those inside the fort died with their bodies torn apart, torn apart and died of poison.

None survived, but one guard was reported missing and a search team was deployed to track his tracks, as traces of Imperial military shoes were found around the fort, the trail leads to a forest on the east side of the fort.

Since all countries were in truce, the Empire was convinced that this was the act of the 'demons' power that made the world in an uproar some time ago.

Now, they have launched their first attack, whether which country or continent is their next target. The Six Continents Alliance Special Unit began to be deployed to various regions that could potentially be the target of the next attack.

What kind of creature slaughtered all the soldiers in that fortress, no one knew.

Alex and the other students who read the newspaper posted on the school's notice board fell silent, some of them nervous, angry, afraid. The dumbest were those who could still laugh after reading the newspaper.

Everyone knew how powerful the Chyrosian Empire was, the enemy they faced might indeed be strong, but to be able to slaughter an entire fortress in just one night proved that the combat power of the 'demons' it was beyond their expectations.

Alex clenched his hands, reading the news left his mind filled with doubt. Am I strong enough to fight them? What kind of creatures are they really? What would have happened had this Academy been their target?

"Waste deck?" A voice rang out from behind Alex, it was Adrian.

"Well, that's it." Alex took a breath.

"It's a lie to say you're not worried at all, isn't it? Speaking of which, we'll be gathered in the Academy hall before dinner tonight, Professor Sandra said there's something the Head of the Academy wants to say." Adrian says Professor Sandra is Adrian's homeroom teacher.

"It looks serious huh?"

Adrian shrugged, "I can already guess what he was going to say anyway. My advice is, you get ready for the worst possible thing you can think of."

Adrian's words left Alex speechless, he also started to guess what the Head of the Academy would say. If he was right, then it was indeed the worst possibility that could happen.

"Don't be too tense, from the beginning we have prepared for this possibility sooner or later, right?" Adrian punches Alex in the shoulder and passes leaving Alex still speechless.

Alex exhales, then he immediately returns to the dorm. That afternoon, he suddenly felt his head very tired.

...****************...

In Alex's subconscious world, he talks to the fairies who are there about the news that came this afternoon.

The aura around them became serious, perhaps only Bane was calm enough, he leaned against a tree, listening to Alex's words while sucking his cigar.

"We already knew the outlines of the news, but we missed the details because we didn't understand human writing." Phoenix responded after Alex finished his words.

"You're telling me you're peering into your vision without his permission?" Dryad the forest elf frowned, sneering at the Phoenix's actions which he thought were inappropriate.

Although Phoenix somewhat hated Dryad, but what he said was indeed true, he immediately lowered his head to Alex and apologized.

Alex understood that, he did not really mind the actions of some fairies who sometimes peek through Alex's vision or eavesdrop from his hearing.

"That's how, the war against the demons is in sight, I hope you guys keep giving me help until the end." Tukas Alex with a slightly trembling voice.

"Thank you, Fenrir ... Also all of you, maybe we will face an enemy who is not imagined by his strength, but I'm sure we can face them together with our other colleagues."

Alex came out from his subconscious, he was calm with the existence of the fairies, the anxiety he felt was now much reduced. Well, even though no one knows what the future holds.

...****************...

The entire disciples gathered in the Academy hall, on the podium, stood several Instructors in official military uniforms of the Six Continents Alliance Army. Several professors were also seen wearing magic robes.

The tense atmosphere was so felt in the hall, nothing could break the silence, only the sound of heavy breathing occasionally sounded from either the ranks of the students or the Academy Staff.

Finally after a few minutes that felt like a few hours, the Head of the Academy boarded the podium accompanied by Savier and a man in military uniform.

After saying a brief greeting, the Head of the Academy immediately delivered a shocking notice.

"I will not be at length, maybe some of you have guessed what I will say at this time. As you know, some time ago, a military barracks that was once the stronghold of the Chyrosian Empire in the northern continent was attacked by something unknown, their big guesses were the demons, they slaughtered everyone in the fortress without leaving a single person. The war with the demons has already entered the beginning, while the time we have is not much. Therefore ...."

The Head of the Academy circulated a glance at the line of disciples, their faces looking tense, heavy breaths heard countless times, all already aware of what the head of the Academy was going to say.

"... Therefore, from today on, you guys whose names are in the following list, officially become soldiers of the Six Continents Alliance Army."

A Professor opened a paper scroll, and then he mentioned the names of the Academy students one by one, they were the ones who were judged to have met the qualifications to plunge into battle.

Among the Gold Class names are Adrian, Alex, Ferdinand, Theodore, Alicia, Brenda, and Raymond.

From the silver class there are names of the best students of the silver class such as Alfonso, Haznav, Dirk, Thomas, Jonathan, Marcus, Bellinda, and several other names.

While the Bronze Class disciples that were fielded numbered the most, reaching the number of hundreds.

The remaining Gold and Silver Class disciples would remain in the Academy to guide the new recruits, the Academy would begin to function as the Headquarters of the Six Continents Alliance.

"You are the hope of the world, do your duty well, we will always give you the best support and prayers for your success and salvation. You will be dispatched tomorrow morning, eat voraciously and rest soundly tonight. Thanks."

The Head of the Academy ended his 'speech', all the students went to the cafeteria for dinner in a mixed mood and difficult to explain.

"At least dinner this time is very special." Said Adrian who saw the cafeteria turned out to have been decorated in such a way with a variety of foods and drinks served at a long table.

"Isn't this more like a party?" Anford laughed a little, his face that had been moody now looks more radiant.

Alex who has never been to noble parties is only dumbfounded, but he tries to stay cool. He had already tasted noble food while living in the Count's residence, and by then he had already felt that he was having the best eating experience, he said, but a big party like this is really on a different level.

"The party is quite simple, but it is fine" Ferdinand said, Theodore nodding in agreement, as did the Brigantine brothers.

Alex's gaze was blank.

"Well, for an Academy, it's good enough" Adrian responded, "we'd better enjoy it."
