Soldiers of the western defense post responded quickly to requests for help from the town of Monsa, a town about thirteen kilometers from the town of Luine which was a western defense outpost.
Unfortunately, the city of Monsa was not covered by steam train lines, so the soldiers were forced to use horse carriages to send troops to Monsa.
Considering the time that has passed, it is certain that there have been many fatalities that have fallen in the city of Monsa.
Because it takes high mobility in this operation, the defense post decided to send soldiers with the minimum amount possible.
Instead, the best quality warriors were chosen in this mission. Edwin, Hakam and Vincent were among the sent units, a middle officer named Jason Kostas was appointed as the leader of the operation.
They are racing against time, but somehow this journey feels so long, many times they complain about the horse carriage that feels very slow.
"Military soldiers there should be able to buy time at least until the entire population managed to evacuate." Jason tried to alleviate the concerns of the soldiers under his command, although he himself could not completely hide his anxious expression, he was sure the soldiers who were in the city could hold on until they arrived.
Or at least, that was what Jason had expected.
Upon their arrival in the city, they were completely cupped. The bodies of countless citizens and soldiers were scattered, the streets of the city were flooded with blood, the walls of buildings were decorated with blood, the city gardens no longer scattered the smell of fresh flowers, it was a pleasant smell, except for the sickening smell of blood.
Some of the soldiers began to vomit because they could not stand the sight before them, the corpse of a mother holding her child, the corpse of an old man whose face implied the terror he had seen before his death, the corpse of the soldier who lost both his arms and head.
The city was filled with blood. Blood everywhere, all felt so red.
A reddish mist slowly descended and enveloped the city, carrying the scent of death with it.
Jason gestured his soldiers to be alert, he felt something was wrong with the fog, his intuition as a senior soldier said something was wrong with the appearance of the red mist.
They went hand in hand, Jason was at the very front, behind him was Edwin and some soldiers. A few steps behind them was Hakam who also led several soldiers, as well as Vincent who was in the rear row.
Edwin sharpened his senses, trying to stay focused. With the acceleration of his mind, he could warn his comrades when they were attacked abruptly.
Slowly, they moved down the dead city, examining every building, crack, alley, whatever it was. They are trying to find signs of life, be it human ... Or something else. But what they found was the same as what they saw outside. There were only corpses and blood.
Fear slowly crawled over their bodies, this gripping silence was so unfamiliar, they had no idea what would emerge from behind the red mist.
"Sacrifice, use your power to do something." Jason gave the order to Hakam.
But there was no response at all, feeling that something was amiss, Edwin immediately checked his back row.
How surprised he was when he saw the line led by Jason turned out to be the only line there, even the soldier behind Edwin just gawked in confusion, they were not even aware of when the other ranks separated from them.
"Stay calm." Strictly Jason, but he did not completely hide his trembling voice, the panic that had enveloped them began to turn into terror.
Their mentality began to waver, thinking that coming to this place was a mistake, leaving aside the duty as soldiers, their safety was more important. It's no exaggeration to assume that the entire population of this city is dead.
"Captain ... Looks like we should go back to the defense post and give a report." Pinta one of the soldiers with a trembling voice.
Hearing that made Jason worried, the soldier had a point. Their goal here was to save the townspeople, but they were late, there was nothing else to save.
"We're backing down." Jason finally made his decision.
But right after he said that, there was the sound of someone moaning. They immediately became panicked and frightened, since they were shrouded in silence, why was there suddenly a sound?
The mist slowly began to fade, displaying a terrifying sight before them.
The soldiers urinated, they screamed as hard as they could and ran away, the situation completely out of Jason's control.
"What the fuck ...." Jason could no longer hide his fear, this scene before him was a terror that surpassed his worst imagination.
The tall red columns were stuck together to form a "forest" in a field before them, but not a forest with lush foliage and refreshing rain but "forest" with the human body as its canopy, the droplets that descend are not clear water but deep red blood.
Yes, the poles that stand upright are used to stroke the human body that somehow in number, limbs and innumerable internal organs scattered around the stake.
Not only adults, small children, women and even babies who are still not separated from the mother's sling were stuck mercilessly at the end of the poles.
Some of the bodies that were stuck were still not dead, that was where the moaning sound they heard earlier came from.
"AAAAAANNNGGGGHHGGGGGHHHH!"
Edwin's screams echoed across the city, and he saw Vincent and Hakam's bodies among the bodies stuck there.
"EDWIN! CONTROL YOURSELF! WE'RE BACKING DOWN NOW!"
Jason tried to calm the hysterical Edwin, but in vain, Edwin seemed to have lost his mind, he roared and thrashed as it happened, then collapsed unconscious with a foamy mouth.
Shit ... Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit!
Jason begins to curse, whether who he curses, maybe Edwin, maybe his boss, or maybe a god he trusts.
Suddenly the sound of footsteps and chatter of two people, but Jason did not understand the language they used.
"Eh? How come there's still a human here?"
Jason lifted his head. Before him, stood two figures that appeared out of nowhere, they were a woman in strange clothes and a small child.
Just as Jason was about to shout to tell them to run away immediately, a third figure appeared that immediately made Jason tremble in fear.
The figure stared at Jason with a terrifying red aura overflowing around his body, making him instantly feel suffocated. His blazing red eyes as well as his terrible smile made Jason completely lose his mind, he started to pucker and collapse with a frothy mouth.
"Ah, looks like we're overreacting, I'm sorry, Master." The woman in strange clothes looked down at the figure of the man wearing a white luxurious suit, the little boy next to her lowered his head.
"No problem, I rarely make a fuss, unlike my brother. The Queen will forgive me this time ... Maybe."
