Revenge of the Son of the Nobles

Revenge of the Son of the Nobles
Chapter 21: The Beginning

The Headquarters of the Northern Continent Alliance

The northern continent is only divided into five countries, different from other continents that are divided into dozens or even dozens of countries. This was because the Great Emperor Maximillian August had managed to unify most of the northern continent.

Although the Chyrosian Empire has lost its past glory, its military and economic power should not be underestimated.

Even after becoming a country involved in the Five Year War that took place twenty-five years ago, the Chyrosian Empire still stood haughty, as if they refused to collapse.

Meanwhile, in one of the regions at the northern end of the Chyrosian Empire, the former territory is adjacent to a location believed to be the site of the fight of the Great Emperor Maximillian August against a mysterious entity, the, the Headquarters of the Northern Continent Alliance.

The headquarters of the Northern Continent Alliance was once a defensive fortress built to stem the attacks of countries from neighboring continents during wartime. After the war, the fort was abandoned.

But due to the emergence of a new enemy of mankind, this fort was re-operated as a headquarters for the alliance, several other fortresses scattered throughout the northern continent were also re-operated. Neither as a command headquarters nor an army barracks.

"Today is so fucking tiring." A soldier in his thirties opened his bottle of wine and started gulping down its contents.

Next to him, a man who looked the same age picked up a cigar and began to ignite it. After sucking once, he grumbled. "That damn captain really tortures us every day." From his appearance, he was seen in his mid-twenties.

"You want how else, right? the current situation is terrible." The third person responded. He also looks like he is in his twenties.

The three of them sat on the edge of the fortress while enjoying the night sky, for those who daily undergo hard training, relaxing while enjoying a night like this means a lot.

"Tonight the star looked very beautiful" one of them smelled cigar smoke.

"You're like Farrier's girl, the man enjoys the quiet and quiet atmosphere of the night, not the star" led by the soldier who was drinking wine, the soldier with a cigar apparently named Farrier was visibly annoyed by the words of the soldier who was drinking.

"Shut up you fucking Frank." Farrier's voice is upset.

"Heh, look at this fucker, it's getting pretty smart apparently." Frank patted Farrier's head while giggling.

"Stop Frank, you're getting drunk." A third man rebuked Frank who was starting to riot.

"Curtain, okay okay." Frank raised his hand with an annoyed face, then he continued drinking while throwing his face away.

The three of them were silent for a while, after the small commotion earlier the atmosphere became a little awkward.

"Farrier, your sister was recruited by the Academy, right?" The third soldier asked Farrier a question.

Farrier nodded, "He's a talented boy anyway, even now I doubt I can win against him in a duel."

Frank who heard it giggled, "Your guy is not strong enough really."

Farrier sneered, "Damn you Frank." He pelts Frank with a stone fragment, half-drunk Frank only giggles while covering his face.

Apparently because of drunkenness, Frank did not really remember the quarrel just now. Now the mood is a little better.

"God ... I'm tired of it, when the hell are those fucking demons gonna show up? At most just a blanks bluff." Frank, whose face was flushed with drunkenness, began to fumble.

"Hopefully they don't really show up" Farrier said.

"Well, Robert, listen to this guy. We've been training for months and he's hoping it's worth it." Frank is back to messing.

"If they're just bluffing, then that's good, but if they do come, then we'll fight as hard as we can to stop them." Robert, the third soldier said firmly. Looking at it, Frank was somewhat submissive with Robert, it seemed like Robert had a higher rank among the three of them.

"Ughb ... I seem to drink mostly, my eyes start to get foggy." Frank stands up and staggers, but Frank's words make Farrier and Robert aware of the conditions around them.

"Suddenly there was a fog" Robert said.

"When the weather these days is always sunny." Farrier also circulates around.

The other soldiers sitting on top of the fortress and watchtower also looked puzzled.

A few seconds later, Robert was seen staring intently at the fog-covered forest. Farrier who saw this also increased alertness.

"THERE'S SOMEONE HEADING HERE! ALERT SOLDIER!" One of the soldiers exclaimed from the top of the watchtower.

Farrier narrowed his eyes to focus his gaze, right what the watchman said, Farrier could see the shadow of a human figure from behind the fog.

Surprisingly, Robert's expression looked extremely tense, like one who met a ghost in broad daylight.

"Hey, Robert. There's an ap-" Suddenly Farrier felt his body plummet and fall down, as he lowered his head to look at his feet ... The pair of legs were gone, he turned his gaze to the side, he saw the bottom of his stomach until his feet lay on a pool of blood.

As Farrier and Robert's eyes met, Farrier saw Robert looking at him with a shaken and horrified look. Quickly, Farrier felt his body turn cold and numb, then Farrier's consciousness disappeared.

"F-Fa-Farrier ...." With a trembling sound, Robert shook Farrier's upper body, but to no avail. Farrier's head was already drooping with eyes staring blankly.

Frank who saw the incident before his eyes instantly realized from his drunkenness, he immediately pulled out the sword on his waist.

The other soldiers were still shaken, their heads still trying to process the incident they had just witnessed.

But the sound of roars and growls that followed sounded and made them immediately aware.

As they looked outside the fortress, they once again saw a strange sight, some still shaken, but others soon understood that they were facing a horror never before witnessed.

Tens ... No, but rather hundreds of humans emerged from behind the fog and ran ferociously towards them. But the more he noticed, those people looked increasingly strange.

"WICKHEAD! WHAT THE FUCK!?" Frank exclaimed instantly upon seeing the sight before him, the other soldiers immediately exclaimed in panic, the sound of emergency bells starting to echo throughout the fortress.

The soldiers who saw the scene became daunted, they really did not understand what was going on.

The more suitable humans called walking corpses started crashing their bodies into the walls of the fortress, giving rise to a terrible crumbling sound.

One by one the bodies crashed into the walls of the fortress, the carcasses began to pile up higher and higher.

Seeing that, Robert immediately realized something. "THEY MADE A FOOTHOLD TO CLIMB THE FORT! STOP THEM WITH ANYTHING!" He shouted to the other soldiers in a panicked voice.

The other soldiers who heard Robert's call immediately took Polearm, Halberd, Pike, anything in the form of medium-range weapons to block the walking carcass that was somehow in number.

But of course a handful of soldiers were unable to withstand that wave of fearless ferocious carcass attacks, they were still thrusting forward regardless of the sharp end of the weapons the soldiers were trying to intercept them.

"YAHHHH!" Shouts rang out from one part of the fortress, Robert who turned towards the shout again witnessed terror. Some of the carcasses made their way up to the fort. Fiercely, the obscure creatures immediately jumped up and pounced on the soldiers in front of him. Yeah, they really pounced on humans.

"ROBERT! THEY ARE ENDLESS!" Frank had just slashed the head of one of the walking carcasses, but even after his head was cut off, the carcass kept trying to claw and strangle Frank.

"ARRGH! THIS BASTARD WHY NOT JUST DIE!" Even after Frank slashed the creature's hands and feet until it broke off, its body remained writhing, truly a disgusting sight.

The cries of the soldiers alternately filled the fortress, the carcasses running started to enter the fortress, their waves of attacks were completely unstoppable.

Not finished with the terrors of the walking carcasses, one by one the fortress soldiers suddenly sprawled with their mouths, noses, eyes and ears bleeding mixed with foam. Their bodies convulsed violently while their gaping mouths let out a terrifying suffocating sound.

"Robert! You must leave this place immediately! You have to tell the world how terrible something is that we're dealing with right now!"

A man in his forties patted Robert on the shoulder, he was the Captain in charge of training the soldiers in this fortress.

"CAPTAIN! WHERE'S COMMANDER!?" Frank cried to the Captain.

"He's dead! It's really a way of dying that I'll never want."

"YOU'RE A MORON, HUH!? WHO WANTS MAT-KHUHKK!" Frank collapsed after something stuck in his neck, immediately blood flowed out profusely from the holes in his face, following his body that convulsed violently.

Robert yelled loudly calling Frank's name, jumping to help Frank who was still convulsing, a heartbreaking moaning sound coming out of Frank's mouth along with blood mixed with foam.

But the Captain immediately pulled his body, he slapped Robert in the face several times to resuscitate him. "CONSCIOUS ROBERT! HE CAN'T BE SAVED!" The Captain exclaimed as he shook Robert's body violently.

That was when, his eyes caught the figure of a woman in convent clothes, his face was as pale as a corpse, both eyes were closed. The figure smiled faintly at Robert as Robert looked at him, then the figure shook his head and cupped his hands to the front of his chest.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS ALL THIS! HOW DID SOMETHING LIKE THIS APPEAR IN THE WORLD!" Robert in the midst of his despair shrieked, he really did not understand what he was witnessing at the moment.

Meanwhile, walking carcasses began to fill their fortifications. The captain and the rest of the soldiers were getting desperate, their physiques were tired and their mentality was already destroyed.

Suddenly the Captain clutched Robert's shoulder, "You must live!" Then the Captain pushed Robert's body down from the fort.

"CAPTAIN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"GO! TELL IT ALL TO THE PEOPLE OUT THERE! THEY SHOULD KNOW-UUKHHH!"

One carcass jumped into the Captain's body and immediately pounced on his neck, the Captain was sprawled without being able to give a fight. The remaining soldiers experienced more or less the same thing.

"AAAAHHHHHHH! AAKKKKHHHH! FUCKIN' SHIT! SIAAALL!" Robert gave a raucous screech while smacking his face.

Robert's soul was completely shaken at this moment, seeing his entire comrade being wiped out for less than an hour, no, maybe even less than that. Moreover, none of them died fairly.

He immediately ran away from the fortress, the walking carcasses immediately chasing after Robert. He immediately threw out his shield and sword, then took off the helmet and armor attached to his body. Leave the cloth pants and Gambeson with the symbol of the Six Continents Alliance.

"ASSHOLE! DON'T FOLLOW ME! AHHHHH! AWAY FROM ME! AWAY I SAID DAMN CARCASS!"

Whether it was just his feelings or how, he felt the sound of footsteps and the sound of bone rubbing further away and slowly disappearing, but he still ran as hard as he could without looking back.

After a while running at full speed, he ventured to look back, it turned out that the walking carcasses had stopped chasing him, none of them were caught sight of him.

Robert stopped running, then he tried to fill his lungs with cold night air. Then limply, he sat leaning against a tree.

While adjusting his breath, he picked up the water bottle tied around his waist and immediately gulped it down. In just a few gulps, the contents of the metal bottle ran aground.

"Damn ... Huh .... Should ... Huh ... I'm filling more."

He re-attached the bottle to the hook tied to his belt.

Robert began to groan in frustration, he held his head while tousling his hair, everything he experienced still felt unreal.

"Damn! Fuck shit shit! What the fuck!? Do humans really have to fight against something like that!?"

He kept moaning as he ruffled his hair, even now he was banging his head repeatedly into the tree he was backing up.

Then he suddenly rose to his feet with a blank look, snot and saliva flowing from his nostrils and mouth. Now he looks like a lost man. "Must go."

Just as Robert was running, he felt something hit his body from behind, as he directed his gaze downwards. He could see the pale hands of a woman piercing out of his chest, Robert coughed up blood, the hand that pierced Robert was plucked. Instantly he was sprawled with blood seeping out from the gaping hole in his chest.

The starry night sky became the last sight he saw before his consciousness disappeared.
