Chapter 20: The Library

Dragons are mythological creatures that are quite famous, especially in the cultures of the western and eastern continents. Although the depiction of dragons on the cultures of the two continents is slightly different, but dragons are both considered to be the strongest beings who have extensive knowledge of various battle arts and magic.

The legendary super creature is now kneeling before Alex with a bruised face.

Shortly after Bane introduced himself to Alex, Pegasus flapped Bane's face with his foot. Imagine your face being flanked by an Arabian horse, that's how it feels.

Phoenix immediately nagged him and told him to kneel down for mercy to Alex whose eyes were watery red as dust entered his eyes. The subconscious is too realistic.

After the emotions of Phoenix and the others subsided, Alex explained the reason why he called out to Bane. She grinned widely after hearing Alex's explanation, "You asked the right fairy!"

Bane also undertakes to teach Alex the art of dragon fighting and the method of using dragon energy. After that, Bane activated her dragon eye, she scanned Alex's body with her fiery red eyes.

"Sorry before, but I can see that master does not have an affinity for aura and magic, so it is almost impossible for you to learn those two energies." Bane's words made the fairies there surprised, of course the most surprised here is Alex. His feelings were mixed between disappointment and sadness.

A moment later, Bane laughed. "But I don't deserve to be proud of myself as part of the dragon race if I can't find a solution."

"So, you have a solution so I can study the aura?" Alex asked the question enthusiastically. But Bane shook his head, which confused Alex.

"I do have a solution, but that doesn't mean that I can make you use an aura."

Phoenix looked to be getting a bit anxious with Bane, "So there's a solution or not?" The Phoenix flames made Bane gasp, he hurriedly nodded. "There is, so the solution is, you are using dragon energy."

"Dragon energy? Wouldn't it only be used by the dragons?" The elf in the form of a woman with a greenish light enveloping her body asked in confusion, "Just like the fire element, the humans in this world cannot use the power of fire. But with my help, master can use that fire power," the Phoenix replied, "That also applies to Fenrir," he continued, the figure of the big wolf who was apparently named Fenrir nodded in agreement.

"So in conclusion, master can use my dragon energy because I am part of the contract fairy." Bane gave the final conclusion.

"Then? How are you going to instill that power into you, sir?" Fenrir the wolf asked, "Just make it easy, I will give the dragon energy extract to the master on a regular basis. Then once the dragon energy core has been formed within his body, I will begin to teach you how to use that power" Bane explained.

"But, what is dragon energy extract?" Alex asked, "Please wait a minute." Bane then closed his eyes, an orange-colored aura began to radiate from his body. Although not intended to attack, but Alex can feel the tremendous pressure from Bane's aura.

Moments later, Bane opened his eyes, then he showed something inside his hand. "This is the dragon energy extract."

Somehow explaining something in Bane's palm, it was shaped like a high-density vapor, orange in color and emitting a dim orange glow.

"So it's dragon energy" Alex said.

Bane drew his hand to Alex's chest, not long after, the dragon's energy was absorbed into Alex's body.

"Does the master feel the change?" Alex shook his head, "At least for now I don't feel anything."

Bane nodded, "That's a natural thing, maybe this process will take a long time, but this is the safest way I know."

With this aura problem resolved, Alex thanked all the fairies who were there, especially Bane. Bane who suddenly looked sleepy just smiled and gave his thumb.

After that, Alex came out of his subconscious.

He woke up in the clinic, judging by the sunlight coming through the window of the clinic, time had not passed for so long.

Alex got up from the patient's bed, then he closed his eyes and tried to focus to feel the energy in his body. It seemed to be a waste, he could not sense any changes, at least not yet.

It would probably take longer than he thought to get the dragon energy just like Bane said.

As his body has recovered, Alex finally decides to leave the clinic. After saying goodbye and thanking the nurse there, he walked down the corridor of the Academy.

Somewhat doubt if he returned to class, after all, the subject matter this time was related to the magic theory that he did not really master.

Finally Alex decided to spend time in the Academy library, he heard from other students that there were many interesting books in the library.

Arriving at the library, the library attendant reprimanded him, "Isn't the class still not over?" ask the investigating officer, "Ah, actually I just got out of the clinic, if you go to class it feels a bit awkward, so I decided to spend some time here," explained Alex.

Alex was a little upset that this guy didn't believe it, but since it was allowed, so he just went to the library.

There are so many bookshelves lined up, even the walls of this library are covered by bookshelves. Alex who was confused to choose a book because there were too many choices finally took one random book, he then brought the book to the reading area.

After sitting on one of the couches in the reading area, Alex opened the first page of the book and began reading it.

But he was suddenly startled by a single voice.

"Well, you're ditching ya."

Alex was aghast and immediately turned to the source of the voice. There, sat a student of the academy with black hair and gray eyes.

"You surprised me, Ferdinand." It was almost Alex's reflex to hit the guy with a book, but he stopped because it turned out he was Ferdinand.

"Well, I'm sorry, besides when you didn't see me sitting here?"

Alex shook his head in response, "You seem to be having a lot of thoughts huh, is it because you lost to my brother?" Ask Ferdinand again.

"You heard it." Ferdinand chuckled softly, "Such news is fast spreading, let alone this fight between the gold badge students against the silver badge."

"But if I see, it looks like you have the potential to surpass my brother in a gunfight."

"How did you know?"

Ferdinand paused for a moment, "He's got a weak physique, maybe his posture looks ordinary, but actually he's a bit frail. That's why he's focused more on learning magic."

That one is weak? Inner Alex, Ferdinand's family standard seemed to be quite off the mark.

"But if in magic, he is unmatched. If you're challenged to a magic battle, you better back off. Even I'll think twice before accepting the challenge."

Alex shuddered in horror, Ferdinand's magic alone was that powerful, what about his brother?

Alex suddenly thought of something.

"Oh yeah, I heard you're the third son, huh? Then Alfonso was the second son, who was the first?"

Ferdinand's face slightly changed to hear Alex's question, this made Alex feel he had asked something wrong.

"Okay, guess what."

Alex was never used to Ferdinand's smile, his premonition was always to say that the smile was dangerous, even the lower-class elves felt uneasy when they were near Ferdinand and Alfonso. I don't know what's going on with their families.

"Ah, have you heard of the duel between Alicia Brigantine and Prince Theodore?" Ferdinand suddenly changed the topic.

Alex shakes.

"Once you know, the fight between strength and speed."

"meaning?" Alex asked in confusion.

"So her strength this Alicia made her physical strength many times that of a normal human. If Theodore can move at an unreasonable speed, then Alicia has an unreasonable power."

Ferdinand's explanation was somewhat ambiguous, but Alex could understand the point.

"Who won then?"

"Series," Ferdinand shook his head, "Alicia could not land a single attack on Theodore. Meanwhile, Theodore's attack has nothing to do with Alicia. Know it? Where it was destroyed because of Alicia, literally destroyed."

Alex gulped, feeling that his decision to accept Alicia's challenge was a mistake. How'this? Did I just cancel the fight against Alicia?
