Carlotta's mother's penthouse is just two blocks from bustling Central Park. When he got to the front of the building, the snow began to fall. Carlotta loves snow, but is afraid the baby is cold. He hurried in to warm himself up.
Just as Carlotta was about to inform her of her arrival at the receptionist, Carlotta happened to see her mother and stepfather coming out of the elevator.
"Mama!" Carlotta exclaims.
Caterina turned to hear Carlotta's voice. His eyes wide. Similarly, with a smile that began to adorn her beautiful face. "Carlotta! Oh, my God, is that really you?"
Carlotta handed Maurizio to Marco, then ran and hugged his mother tightly. "Mama! Missed you!"
"I miss you too, baby!" Caterina hugged her daughter back. "How did you get here? It's early in the morning, honey! Why didn't you call me first? I can pick you up at the airport."
Carlotta did not answer that question. He turned his attention to his stepfather. "Good morning, Signor Benito. How are you?"
Signor Benito sued Carlotta. "Good, Carlotta. How's yours?"
Marco brought Maurizio closer. "Good morning, Signor and Signora Benito."
Signor Benito and Caterina answered Marco compactly. "Good morning, Marco!"
Caterina was directly focused on the baby in Marco's sling. "This my grandson? Uh. How handsome! Can I carry it?" Caterina reached out to Marco.
Carlotta nodded. "Of course, Mama. It's Maurizio." Carlotta looked down and smiled at the baby. In a softer voice, he said slowly. "Maurizio, this is your grandmother!"
Baby Maurizio laughs adorablely in response to his mother's words.
Caterina carried Maurizio happily. "He's so big! Oh, and he inherited the color of your hair and the color of your eyes, Carlotta. But his expression was similar to Alessandro."
Signor Benito chimed in. "By the way, where's Alessandro?"
Carlotta and Marco looked at each other sadly. "The story is long, Signor Benito." Marco answered it for Carlotta.
Now, Signor and Signora Benito are looking at each other confused.
"We go in first. You must be tired. It should still be midnight in Rome. You need to sleep." Signor Benito.
Carlotta observed the winter-specific sportswear worn by Signor Benito and his mother, then felt guilty. "I must be interrupting your time." He said with a hesitant smile.
Caterina shook her head quickly. "What are you saying, Carlotta? There's no way you're bothering Mama."
Signor Benito agreed. "There is no way your arrival is bothering us. We actually feel very happy. It's been a long time our house has been so quiet."
Carlotta smiled with gratitude now. He and Marco immediately followed Signor Benito and his wife back into the elevator.

Apparently, Carlotta was completely exhausted mentally and spiritually. As soon as he touched the bed, he immediately fell asleep into a dreamland. His eyes felt heavy, plus began to swell due to a day of crying.
Caterina grunted furiously. "My ex-husband hasn't changed. He always wanted to feel in control of the lives of those around him. When he can no longer control me, now he wants to control my children."
Signor Benito embraced his wife closely, seeking to provide moral support. "If there's anything I can do to help you and your daughters, I'll do it." Promise of the man.
Caterina nodded stiffly. "Thank you, honey. But, I don't know what I can do." Caterina asked Marco again. "How's Alessandro doing now? Rocco didn't really want to kill him, did he?"
Marco Bruni puts his shoulders. "That's what's stressing Carlotta the most right now."
Caterina understands that. "Good thing is that she and her baby can sleep now."
Marco nodded. "I'm also worried about his health."
Now Caterina started to stand up and walk with a huff. "I'm really mad at Rocco. I know he's rude, but I didn't know he could do something immoral like this."
Signor Benito frowned in wonder. "Did the Ferrara party not make any moves? They're still the ones in power."
Now, Marco spoke in a whisper. "It's top-secret. Alessandro's grandfather has been tracking down his grandson since the threat we received this afternoon. It turns out that Alessandro is at the headquarters of one of the most dangerous mafia gangs in all of Italy."
Caterina gasps. "The mobster? Now Rocco's allied with the mafia?"
Marco looked towards the door of the room Carlotta occupied timidly. Don't let Carlotta hear what he has to say. "Actually, Giacomo's half-brother Carlotta was the leader of that mafia group."
Signor and Signora Benito were surprised not to play. They try to digest that information. Suddenly Marco and everyone were startled by the sound of Marco's cell phone. A call from an unknown number.
"Ciao?" Marco held up his phone to his ear.
"Well, Marco. Where are you and Mrs Carlotta?" There was a Lombardi voice across the street. Marco was struck by tremendous relief. If Lombardi is alive and can call him, that means Alessandro is alive, right?
Marco Bruni needs to make sure of that. "We're at Signor and Signora Benito's house in New York. How's Alessandro doing?"
"Signor Alessandro has a head injury. Not very serious. We are still in Milan. Maybe for a few days. Signor Giacomo suggested that Signor Alessandro rest for at least a week." Lombardi.
Marco tried not to feel stung when he heard the name Giacomo. How insolent. Could the man betray his sister and instead work with his depraved father to separate Carlotta and her husband? Marco understands Giacomo must be furious at Alessandro when he finds out that Alessandro once harassed Carlotta. However, doesn't Giacomo know that Carlotta and Alessandro love each other?
"Did Alessandro and Giacomo fight desperately with each other?" Marco asked.
There was the laughter of Lombardy on the other side. "What do you mean, Marco? Sometimes I can't think of your incredible imagination. And to answer your question, no. They don't fight. Signor Giacomo was going to Verona to take care of his personal affairs with his girlfriend. Mrs Carlotta's father took advantage of that momentum by taking control of all of Signor Giacomo's men. Somehow, they even disabled the cellular network on our simcard once we entered the room they had prepared for the meeting."
Marco grimaced in horror. "Then, what happens next?"
"Fortunately Signor Giacomo returned shortly after one of its members attacked Signor Alessandro. Signor Giacomo snatched up his own father." Lombardi suddenly sounded very serious. "Hide this from Mrs Carlotta. Signor Giacomo didn't want his sisters to know that he was a gangster."
"All right." Marco answered quickly.
Mrs Benito approached Marco as soon as the man hung up the phone. "Did Giacomo really help his father frame Alessandro? You dick! I know that bastard was just pretending to be nice in front of Carlotta!"
Marco grimaced in shame. "No, Mistress. We all misunderstood. It was precisely Signor Giacomo who helped Signor Alessandro out of trouble. Please keep this between the three of us, ma'am. Don't let Carlotta know."
Carlotta's bedroom door opens. "What secret, Marco?"
