Rocco Marinelli did not like the view before him. Alessandro came to see him with security forces. Doesn't that mean that brash daughter-in-law is taking a storm? Challenged him? As if it wasn't enough to make Carlotta the eldest daughter she prided herself on being a dissident, destroy her business, tear down her house, now the man dares to come here with trained bodyguards.

It is an open invitation to war.

When he saw the man enter the dining room with his men, Rocco spread out his hands and smiled broadly. "My daughter-in-law. You finally visited your old-fashioned father-in-law too."

Alessandro smiled in a friendly manner. "Father-in-law." The man approached Rocco with wide steps full of confidence, making Rocco twice as much hate him.

"I only had lunch for two people. You and me. I'm sorry, but it's best that your men wait outside." Rocco said again. The tone is incredibly friendly and measured.

Alessandro agreed. "They'll all come out if your people come out, too."

Rocco Marinelli laughed out loud. "of course. That's fair. We're both safe with our togetherness now, aren't we?"

'If you don't try to do anything, of course everything is safe.' Alessandro cursed in his heart. "Get out." The man told Lombardi and the rest of Ferrara's security forces.

Lombardi. "Can't, Signor."

Rocco Marinelli said to his men. "You're all out, too."

When he saw all the mafia members who had stood firmly behind Rocco one by one out of the super large dining room, Lombardi and his colleagues just agreed to come out.

"Just leave us alone." Rocco still smiled very sweetly at Alessandro. "Is there anything you want to talk about?"

Alessandro smiled back, trying to remain respectful of Rocco, even though his heart was raging. The man before him had been beating up Carlotta and the girl's younger siblings ever since they were little. Alessandro felt furious. Very furious.

"Yes. There are a few things." Alessandro replied slowly.

Rocco Marinelli invited Alessandro to sit on the right seat of the head of the table. Alessandro nodded slowly, then sat down after Rocco sat down.

"Is that Sandro Botticelli's original painting?" Alessandro deliberately pointed at a large painting behind Rocco. The Madonna and Child. When Rocco turned around to see what he was pointing at, Alessandro deftly swapped his champagne glass for Rocco's.

Rocco turned to face Alessandro unsuspectingly. "Eitherway. Seems not. Giacomo did not take much interest in such things. He's not educated."

Alessandro clenched his own hand, but said nothing.

A big smile was still on Rocco's lips. "Come on, please eat, Alessandro. Or do you want us to toast first?"

"Returning seems like fun. It's the first time we've met as familiar sons-in-law and in-laws." Alessandro raised his champagne glass with a pongah. "Return to happiness?"

"For happiness." Rocco also raised his glass. When he saw Alessandro downing his champagne, Rocco smiled with satisfaction. The middle-aged man was also about to drink his champagne, but suddenly decided not to. Something is wrong.

Rocco looked at him sharply. His friendly feigned attitude disappeared imprudently. "Heard you stopped helping my wine company this morning. The employees at my house also said that you intend to take my house back. Can you explain that?"

Alessandro exhaled heavily. "I've just found out that you like to beat up your daughters."

Rocco laughed out loud, but his laughter sounded cruel. "I hit just to discipline them. While you? Don't you remember that you ruined our finances and my daughters suffered in poverty for years? It was all your fault!"

Alessandro was silent for a moment. Then, while speaking, his voice was filled with emotion. "It's just that you shouldn't leave them on the streets. Have you not thought at all about the safety of your daughters?"

"Safety, you say?" Rocco kicked down the dining table. "What about my safety? You made me a fugitive. I hide outside or get caught by the police and stay in jail, my daughters will be alone out there!"

Alessandro kicked back at the dinner table and stood up. "Then you can come to me and beg for forgiveness for everything you have done in the past. If you do that, I'll definitely return all yours."

Rocco laughed heartily. "Is that what you want, you arrogant bastard? An apology from me? Let me guess. After I beg your forgiveness, you will definitely apply for the conditions to marry my daughter Carlotta if I want my home and business back."

Alessandro snorted in annoyance. That was exactly the original plan. And Rocco managed to guess everything easily.

"It's not just your home and business. I can give you more. New property? A subsidiary of Ferrara? Hotel chain? A yacht? Just name it and it could all be yours." Alessandro says.

Rocco looked even more angry. "Maybe I'm not a gentle father. But I'm not going to sell my daughter to an asshole like you!"

Alessandro closed his eyes tired. "You didn't sell it to me. You just want to bless our relationship. We love each other!"

Rocco spat irritated, then swore loudly. "Love each other, you say? I know that you harassed my daughter, got her pregnant, and Giacomo had no choice but to force you to take responsibility! Those are all your rotten plans, asshole! You even made arrangements so I couldn't get close to my daughters anymore!"

Alessandro felt dazed. Everything Rocco Marinelli says has a point. All this time he thought that everything he did for Carlotta was based on love. However, without him noticing, it was all a coercion.

What if Carlotta didn't love him at all? What if Carlotta broke off her engagement to Roberto Mancini years ago out of fear of her threat? And what if Carlotta decided to marry her just because she had a baby?

Not love.

Alessandro shook his head quickly. "You can't instill a wrong idea and brainwash me like this! Carlotta and I love each other. From long ago until death separated. You can't change it."

Rocco gave a small gesture to someone who was quietly standing behind Alessandro. "Then let me bring death to you." Rocco said with a big smile full of satisfaction.

The person standing behind Alessandro made a light strike as fast as lightning. Alessandro did not have time to react and immediately felt his body dazed, and lost consciousness instantly. The person behind him immediately caught Alessandro and sat him in the dining chair quietly, avoiding the commotion that could arouse suspicion on Ferrara's security forces in front of the dining room. Alessandro's drooping head was placed on the dining table carefully.

Rocco gave a thumbs-up to Giacomo's confidant who had knocked out Alessandro in one strike.

"Good job." Rocco praised happily.

"Thank you, Signor." The person bowed slightly, then immediately left to give Rocco some privacy.

Rocco ransacked Alessandro's pocket and got what he wanted. Cell phones. He searched Carlotta's number, kept it on his own phone, and immediately contacted his daughter.
