The wedding preparations have taken a week. The vendor has been ordered, the wedding dress has been measured and adjusted, the food menu has been selected. Lombardi has even filtered the press from various newspapers and television channels that are allowed to broadcast live or cover. Marco Bruni also came every day to inform any celebrity he would invite to raise Carlotta's prestige.
"You don't have to be dizzy, honey. Let us take care of everything." So Marco said when he saw Carlotta go down to the living room of Ferrara's house with a facial expression that showed how tired and sleepless the woman was.
Carlotta turned the eyeball. "I'm not tired of that, Marco."
Then, when Marco understood what Carlotta meant, the man burst into laughter. "Come on tell me a little bit. Is she hot?"
Carlotta smile. "That's unquestionable."
Marco issues ******* envious. "You're really lucky."
"Yes, right. But he's too excited." Carlotta clutched her stomach before plopping down onto the sofa beside Marco.
"Oh, my God." Marco covered his mouth with both hands. "The stamina must be great."
Carlotta rolled her eyeballs. "He won't stop until I pass out."
Marco laughed out loud. "Was that night, when you first did it, so did she?"
Carlotta shrugged. "If she wasn't, how could I possibly be pregnant?"
Marco Bruni laughed.
The conversation of the two of them instantly came to a halt when the footsteps of the person they were talking about sounded. Marco felt, Alessandro Ferrara changed a lot. The man was clearly still towering and heavily muscular. However, now there was a softness on his face that usually looked cold. Especially when the man smiled sweetly at Carlotta.
"Good morning, dear." Alessandro kissed Carlotta on the cheek, then looked at Marco. "Good morning to you too, Marco."
"Good morning!" Marco said cheerfully. It was millions of years ago when she was terrified when she was first invited to dinner by Alessandro.
Carlotta noticed that Alessandro was looking good this morning. Later, Lombardi appeared carrying two large suitcases.
"You want to go somewhere?" Carlotta asked.
Alessandro looked at the girl with a languid look. "Yes. I had to go take care of the inauguration of my subsidiary which was delayed by the accident in Veneto at that time. Now it can't be delayed any longer. I don't want to interrupt our honeymoon."
Carlotta stood up. "The inauguration was in Verona, right? I can come with you."
"No, Honey. The entire board of directors of the subsidiary company is back in New York. It's inefficient to invite them here again. So, I'll be there." Alessandro tidied up his suit. Through the corner of his eye, he gave a code for Lombardi to immediately transport his suitcases into the limo.
"Am I coming?" Carlotta asked.
Alessandro shook his head and smiled. "You're here, huh? Shocks on the plane are not good for the baby. Besides, I'll only be gone for three days."
Carlotta pout. "Yes already then. But, you should have told me first."
Alessandro laughs. "If I told you from yesterday, you'd be bending your face since yesterday."
Carlotta can't argue that, because it's true. "Don't be long, Alessandro. Our wedding is just a week away. You're not gonna miss it, are you?"
Alessandro's laughter was getting louder. "Where could I have missed it? Our marriage is the goal of my life."
Carlotta hugged the man and felt reluctant to let go. "Then, be careful on the road."
"By the way, have you eaten yet?" Carlotta asked.
Alessandro shook his head slowly. He turned back to his assistant. "Wait for me in the dining room, Lombardi. I'll talk to you for a minute before I leave."
Lombardi immediately carried out the order and disappeared behind the dining room door.
"Have you eaten yourself?" Alessandro asked Carlotta.
Carlotta shakes. "Not hungry. I'll just eat with Marco."
"All right then." Alessandro. Then the man seemed to remember something he had forgotten. "The cooperation! Lombardi, help me find him!"
Alessandro immediately let go of Carlotta and turned back towards his study. Lombardi also immediately came out of the dining room and followed his master.
Carlotta raised her hand. "I don't understand about business and what my future husband does with his job, Marco."
Marco patted Carlotta on the shoulder to appease the woman. "Judging from the success of Ferrara Group under his leadership, it seems he knows what he's doing."
"Good then." Carlotta.
"Why don't you just go into the dining room? Didn't Alessandro say he'd talk to his assistant in the dining room for a minute before he left?" Marco proposes.
Carlotta sparkles. The girl had definitely thought Marco's idea was brilliant. Without waiting for anything else, Carlotta sneaked into the dining room.
The dining room in Ferrara's house is an octagonal room. The seven sides have unusually large windows that face directly into the rose garden. One side of the other occupied a medieval double door. Each window has golden-colored curtains that can hide five adults in width. The table itself is reserved for twenty-six people. There are beautiful chandeliers hanging from the roof. And what Carlotta likes most about this room is the roof that contains paintings of gods. Very lovely.
Then Carlotta saw a document lying on the table. It must have been Lombardi accidentally left it there for hastily following Alessandro's orders.
Carlotta intended to help tidy up the scattered documents, but was suddenly very surprised when reading about what the document really was.
Dna test. The documents are a form of submission of DNA tests from Alessandro Ferrara for the baby to be born Carlotta Marinelli.
Carlotta's breath was blocked. The air around him felt stifling. The woman did not have time to think anything more when the footsteps of Alessandro and Lombardi headed to where he was. He must immediately hide to hear what Alessandro's plan is. Carlotta ran to the back of a curtain and spread out the large golden cloth to cover herself.
"Enter that document to the hospital, Lombardi. Don't let Carlotta know." The voice of Alessandro.
Carlotta's heart felt like it had been hit by a knife and broken in two.
"Then..." Alessandro said again. Next to her hand moved to grab a tuna sandwich on the table. "Continue following Carlotta. Don't let him out of your sight. I want you to report every activity to me, anyone he meets, anywhere he's active, everything."
"Okay, Signor." Lombardi answered obediently.
Alessandro sounded satisfied. The man started eating sandwiches in his hand. "And most importantly, lest Carlotta meet another man besides Giacomo and Marco Bruni."
"Okay, Signor."
"good. Quickly clean up the document. I'm gonna go see Carlotta and say goodbye to her again before I catch my flight." Alessandro galloped away from the room.
Marco Bruni was astonished to see Alessandro coming out of the dining room alone with Lombardi. Where the hell is Carlotta?
Alessandro. "Where is Carlotta? I want to say goodbye to him again."
Then, Marco realized something was wrong here. Carlotta was obviously still in the dining room, because Marco saw the girl come in but didn't see her come out. So, he immediately twisted his brain and told a small lie. "Carlotta is on the toilet. He asked me to say hello to you. No need to wait, he said."
Alessandro glanced at his watch. "Is that so? It just so happens that I'm in a hurry. All right then, please take care of Carlotta, Marco."
Marco shrugged his shoulders. "Without being asked I always looked after her."
Alessandro nodded with gratitude. "Then I go first."
