The next day, Carlotta invited her husband to visit Salumeria Gironda, the most popular Mediterranean restaurant in Verona that they used to visit together. Alessandro bought a new sports car because it would be too flashy to wear a limo in downtown Verona. Not that sports cars are also inconspicuous. It's just, not as bad as a limousine.

Carlotta forced Alessandro to drive very slowly, because she was still traumatized to hear Alessandro crash in this place, the same street, a few months ago. However, the smooth and quiet streets made Alessandro involuntarily squeeze the gas deeper several times.

"Stop." Carlotta said fiercely.

"But, Cara Mia..." Alessandro had not finished his sentence and Carlotta had spoken quickly.

"Say, stop."

Alessandro obeyed his wife. The man immediately pulled over his car and parked on the side of the road.

Carlotta took off her seatbelt. "Down. Let me drive."

"No, Honey. I can drive more carefully."

Carlotta glared at Alessandro. "You always speed."

Alessandro quickly shook his head. "I won't speed anymore."

Carlotta tried another tactic. "Let me try your new car."

Alessandro was silent for a moment. He obviously did not want to be cheated on by his own wife. "Of course I can."

Carlotta smiled happily. He was about to jump down, but Alessandro held him back. Alessandro grinned, then lifted Carlotta's body easily and put the woman on his lap. Carlotta gasped and laughed.

"What are you doing?" Ask the girl.

"Eh..." Alessandro became unable to move freely after sitting holding Carlotta in front of the steering wheel. "Carlotta, I feel-"

Carlotta gasped again when she realized something was wrong under her seat. "Alessandro, you're such a pervert!" Then, the woman laughed amusedly. Fizzy cheeks.

Alessandro immediately opened the car door and shuffled out before he was tempted to make love in his new car, on the side of the road, right then and there. "You're a real problem for me, Carlotta."

Carlotta laughed out loud hearing that.

Salumeria Gironda is never quiet. The view of the Adige River stretches beautifully from there, and it is the biggest attraction besides its delicious food. The restaurant has a unique concept, as if providing picnic facilities for its visitors. Carlotta and Alessandro took a basket and began to put in their bread, Italian ham, cheese, sausages, cold meat, and a bottle of local wine produced by Ferrara. Then, the two of them moved to an outdoor picnic area through the back door and were immediately confronted with the Adige River and the beautiful old Ponte Pietra bridge.

Alessandro pulls out a chair facing the river for Carlotta. When he was sitting comfortably, Carlotta whispered softly. "I miss this place so much."

Alessandro clasped his wife's hand and smiled. "me too. More precisely, I missed coming here with you. You're the best at making delicious sandwich combinations here."

Carlotta pinched Alessandro's arm playfully. "Just miss my sandwich?"

Alessandro asked for forgiveness. "Of course I miss you too!" Carlotta was still pinching him, so Alessandro hurriedly added. "And love! And our togetherness!"

Carlotta laughed in satisfaction, then stopped flinging her death pinch. The woman looked over at San Pietro Castle across the river and let out a small sigh. "How long has passed."

"And this place never changes." Alessandro wrapped his hands behind Carlotta's waist, pulling his wife to sit up to him. "The castle is still there. The river is the same. The bridge too."

Carlotta put her head on Alessandro's shoulder. "It's not the first time I've been here since you left ten years ago. I always come here alone and cry because I remember you."

Alessandro stroked Carlotta's hair and kissed her forehead. "That's all gone. Now we're both here."

Carlotta looked up at her husband. "Don't ever leave me again, no matter what."

Carlotta laughed softly. "I can't possibly love you anymore."

Alessandro kisses Carlotta softly. "And I can't leave you anymore."

Carlotta nodded. "Later, when Maurizio gets bigger, we have to bring him here."

Alessandro hugged Carlotta even tighter. "All right, I promise."

When Carlotta was busy putting together a sandwich with meat, cheese, and other stuffing of her choice, her name was suddenly mentioned by someone. The voice of the man who called his name sounded familiar. As they turn, Carlotta and Alessandro find Roberto and Gretta Mancini walking towards them. Roberto looked bright, while Gretta dragged her steps as if it was better to be in hell than there.

"Oh? You guys here too?" Carlotta stood up to greet Roberto and Gretta.

Alessandro stood up, lazily. "May we meet here." He said, not sounding enthusiastic.

Roberto ignored the tone and smiled broadly at Carlotta and Alessandro. "It's a coincidence, isn't it? What if we just join in? Gretta also wants to tell you something, Carlotta."

Gretta glared at her own sister. "I? Saying what?"

Roberto folded his hands in front of his chest. "Apardon, maybe? For making a noise and making Carlotta wretch at her Baby Shower party."

Gretta pouted straight away. "Okay, maybe I should say a few things."

Carlotta glanced at Alessandro, aware that her husband's feelings had deteriorated since seeing Roberto. "Ah, here. Not that I meant-"

"It's okay, honey. They can join us." Alessandro cut out Carlotta's words quickly. The man immediately arranged the seat so that Carlotta could not sit next to Roberto or face Roberto directly. Carlotta almost felt a stomachache from holding back a laugh. Alessandro is always adorable when he's jealous.

"You should give birth this month, right, Carlotta? If only Gretta hadn't messed up that time." Roberto opened the conversation when they were all already sitting in the place Alessandro arranged. "But I'm glad you gave birth safely and are now back to health." Roberto continues.

Carlotta nodded, then thanked me slowly. Meanwhile, Alessandro answered frontally. "We deliberately did not throw any parties to welcome the birth of our son. We're traumatized by the party because of your sister's behavior."

Roberto felt guilty. The man nudges Gretta, giving her a code to have her sister apologize immediately.

Gretta had to open her mouth. "I'm sorry. But, it's not all my fault. Everything that happened that day was caused by Ciara Marinelli."

Carlotta squinted her eyes dislike. "What do you mean?"

Gretta grunts rough. "Just like you, Ciara likes to play with people's feelings. He constantly teases my sister. I can't accept he's flirting with Roberto and-"

"Gretta, stop." Roberto warned.

However, Gretta ignored him. "And kept making excuses to meet up alone with Roberto. I don't trust the girls from the Marinelli family. You failed my brother once. Now your sister Ciara is approaching my sister. What do you mean exactly? Hasn't it been enough for you to humiliate my family all this time?"

Carlotta fell silent with a frown. Ciara approaching Roberto Mancini? It is true, Ciara once claimed to be planning a meeting with Roberto. "But, didn't Ciara just invite Roberto to meet to discuss his final college assignment or something like that?"

Gretta twists the eyeball. "That's all just a made-up excuse."

Roberto shook his head in anger. "Gretta, Ciara is not that kind of person. Stop with that absurd accusation."

However, according to Carlotta, Gretta's words are actually true. Ciara is unlikely to arrange a meeting with someone she doesn't like. Ciara is an idealist. His life was divided into two great choices. Black and white. Wrong and right. Ciara will approach people she likes and stay away from people she doesn't like. That simple.

And if Ciara comes to the trouble of making excuses to meet with Roberto ...

Carlotta shook her head, trying to shake off her wild thoughts. "Ah, so so. Don't worry, Gretta. I'll make your complaint to Ciara."

Roberto hastily refused. "Don't listen to Gretta, Carlotta. Ciara and I are good friends. If you convey Gretta's bad thoughts to her, I'm afraid she'll stay away and our friendship will just break up."

Gretta glared at her brother. "That's what should have happened! Big brother isn't shy about staying close to your ex-fiance's family? Just look, he decided you'd marry his ex-girlfriend who was a gardener and is now a wealthy man!"

Carlotta, Alessandro, and Roberto immediately protest Gretta's statements together.
