Revegenful Billionaire

Revegenful Billionaire
Chapter 2 | Heir to Ferrara

Alessandro never knew his family. He was raised only by his mother who was a gardener. Her mother has no family. However, there was someone he had already considered his own family. Aunt Valentina.

In the past, Aunt Valentina also worked at the Marinelli family mansion. Now, that woman is retired. His home is in the suburbs of Verona. In the present circumstances, driven away and penniless, the first thing Alessandro could do was just go to Aunt Valentina's house.

Alessandro swore, he will never forget this damned day forever. Winter comes with biting temperatures. This month's salary is not given. His previous wages were frozen. Without proper thick clothing, Alessandro walked in with a bruised face and an agitated body after being beaten blindly by his former employer.

Actually, Alessandro was able to withstand all that. The most painful thing for him was to hear Carlotta throw him away. Carlotta said that Alessandro was shameless and very inappropriate for a girl like Carlotta.

That night, Carlotta found him on the porch. Witnessed by everyone in the mansion, including Carlotta's father and sisters, and all the servants. The night is getting darker. The rain started to fall. Slowly, it then turned into a large grain that hit Alessandro's face. Added pain in some parts of his body.

Carlotta looked as beautiful as the moon. If only Alessandro had not been fascinated by the beauty of his young lady. Alessandro always thought Carlotta was a gift. A miracle for his aimless life.

Alessandro prefers it when Carlotta talks to him alone as usual. Not seen by many people like this.

"I'm getting engaged to Roberto. He's worth it to me. I hope we won't see each other again forever. Don't you ever bother me again, Poor Gardener! I hate you!" Carlotta threw a glass of hot chocolate at Alessandro.

"Carlotta, honey, what really happened? I know this is not your will. Tell me, honey." Alessandro tried to persuade. The young man ignored the burning heat on his right arm.

Burns from the boiling hot chocolate Carlotta threw at him.

Carlotta laughed like an atrocity. "You wanna know? Of course because I'm sick of you. It's time I stopped messing around with a lowly young man like you."

"You never underestimate the social status of others, Carlotta. I know that!" Alessandro replied with no less stubbornness.

"You think you know me? You're wrong! You don't know anything about me."

"That's not true..."

"Of course it's true! Bury your disgusting dreams to be with me. Can't you see that our position is like heaven and earth? You don't know yourself!"

"Carlotta..."

"Don't you dare say my name with your dirty mouth!"

Alessandro will never forget all Carlotta's insults to him. When he looked at Carlotta's father and found a triumphant smile there, Alessandro's anger peaked. The only hope he has is to take revenge on Carlotta and his family. Someday.

Aunt Valentina's house is in the suburbs. Only a small patch of earth with a wooden fence that has been weathered in time. The yard is filled with used items that accumulate. The tiny house was overgrown with bougainvillea flowers that spread to the roots. Alessandro remembered, his mother used to invite him to visit here. Things haven't changed much. In fact, it is the only house that does not change between all the houses in the same area.

When she found Aunt Valentina's house, Alessandro was drenched in the rain. His body was shivering and he had a high fever. His hands were full of blistering burns.

"What's going on, son? Holy jeez!" Aunt Valentina was moved to welcome Alessandro and immediately told the young man to come in.

Aunt Valentina treated Alessandro's wounds compassionately. Several times his eyes glazed over to see how heartbreaking the son of his dead friend was.

Finally, Aunt Valentina said, "You're wrong, Alessandro. Actually you have a family. A big family. I promised your mother I wouldn't tell you anything. However, now I guess I can no longer keep that promise."

"I have a family?" Alessandro looked at Aunt Valentina in disbelief.

"Yes, Son. You have a family. The Ferrara Family." Aunt Valentina smiled warmly at him. "The Ferrara family's 'that'." Aunt Valentina continued.

Alessandro could hardly believe this information if it wasn't Aunt Valentina who said it. The Ferrara Family's 'it'. Oh God. He is the son of the most beautiful family in Italy!

"Auntie doesn't lie, does she, Bi?" Alessandro asked. His eyes sparkled with excitement.

"I swear." Aunt Valentina then told the dark story of Alessandro's mother long ago.

According to the story of Aunt Valentina, Alessandro's mother was a servant in Ferrara's house. He was involved in an illicit relationship with the only son of the Ferrara family. When she found out that she was pregnant, she was expelled from Rome.

"Your father didn't even know that your mother was pregnant. Your mother didn't have time to say anything when she left."

"Why, Auntie? Why did my mom just leave?"

Aunt Valentina gave a long sigh. "Didn't you experience it too? You know how influential those families are, right? People like us don't stand a chance to fight, son."

Alessandro cried hearing that. It was heartbreaking to realize that he and his mother had the same story. Both were evicted from the rich family home.

"If you want to go see your late father's family, son, you can go to Rome. I have the address."

"Good, Auntie." Alessandro immediately wiped away his tears of frustration.

"And I've got a little money for your ride, son. Not much, but I hope I can help." Aunt Valentina opened an obsolete storage box and took out a few pieces of paper money.

Alessandro accepted it gratefully. "I'll repay Auntie's kindness. I promise."

Aunt Valentina smiled and shook her head. "You don't have to pay anything back, son. Live happily from now on."

This time, Alessandro would not give up. He was a strong boy. She's not like her mother. He was determined to turn things around, whatever it took.

The next morning, Alessandro left for Rome. With a little money given by Aunt Valentina, she buys a one way ticket. He went to the residence of the Ferrara family and would not take rejection for granted. If Bibi Valentina's story is true, and she believes the woman is not lying, Alessandro will not relinquish his rights as Ferrara's heir. And he swore he would never return to Verona unless he had managed to turn things around with the damned Marinelli family.
