Carlotta looked up at her sister solemnly now. "Ciara, listen to me. Marriage is no joke."

The younger woman agreed. "I know."

Carlotta grunting. "You've never even had a boyfriend. How are you going to marry someone you don't love at all?"

Ciara stared at Carlotta sharply. "If what you call love is something that happens to you and Alessandro, I don't want to experience that. I'd rather if I could control myself and not be overrun by such-shattering foreign emotions"

"Near!" Carlotta nodded in disbelief.

Ciara quickly closed her mouth. It is true the saying. Advising people who are in love is futile. "I mean, if you and Alessandro hadn't loved each other, Papa wouldn't have used that to try to curb you."

Carlotta returned struggling with the things she was about to take away. And the woman decided to bring along Alessandro's thick fur coat which she had hugged earlier.

"I don't mind marrying Roberto." Ciara. "It will benefit many. You don't have to divorce Alessandro. Papa got the daughter-in-law he wanted all along. And I don't have to bother looking for a future husband."

Carlotta nodded once more. "It's not about Roberto, Ciara. It's about Alessandro. Papa hates. Alessandro had been acting in defiance for ten years when he refused to leave our home despite being severely beaten. In addition, Alessandro has made Papa bankrupt and poor. Papa took revenge on my husband. He doesn't want me to be with him." Carlotta paused for a moment, her body trembling in fear. "And Papa must have hated my son because he was Alessandro's son."

Ciara froze where she stood. He had absolutely no idea that the problem had come this far. "But I thought Alessandro had returned Papa's business and home? Alessandro has also revoked Papa's fugitive status. What else did Papa expect?"

Carlotta finally got the passport she had been looking for. The woman immediately tidied herself up and prepared to leave. "I don't know what happened, but I think it's all my fault. Last night I told Alessandro what really happened ten years ago, why I kicked him out, and why I said I no longer loved him. I shouldn't have done that."

Ciara. "What connection?"

"Looking at Alessandro's nature, I think he was angry and canceled all his help on Papa. I don't know what and how after, Papa managed to hold Alessandro now." Carlotta swallowed back all her tears and cleared her throat softly so that her voice would not sound vibrating. "Please let me know if Alessandro's back here safely."

Ciara. "Alessandro really canceled everything? Papa must hate him even more!"

Carlotta sighed. "I know."

Ciara closed her eyes in anger. He hated not being able to do anything to help his brother. "That's it. Go for now. I'll talk to Papa slowly and say that Roberto and I love each other. I'll have Roberto work together. Only until Papa calms down and no longer acts crazy. You and Alessandro don't have to be really divorced. Just act like you're getting a divorce, but you're not."

Carlotta didn't think it would work. But, there was nothing else he could do now other than leave. So, Carlotta just fell out and hoped that all that could go smoothly.

"Are you going to Mama's?" Ciara asked.

Carlotta nodded. "I definitely can't hide in a parlor anymore. Alessandro will find me easily. At least, Mama and Signor Benito will help me hide. Alessandro won't dare to mess around because he respects them."

Ciara looked at her brother sadly. "I hope things will get better soon." The girl stretched out her arms, asking Carlotta to hug her once more before leaving.

Ciara Marinelli had never felt this big before. He called Roberto and took the man to meet at Antico Arco, one of the restaurants that is not too big and luxurious, but most hunted in Rome for its famous delicious food. The girl even forced the owner to rent the restaurant and wine bar for two hours that night. His behavior makes other restaurant visitors queue like snakes to be able to turn in after Ciara.

"Well! What are you doing, Ciara?" The man said while laughing. "People are crowding out there and protesting for not being able to get inside. I thought I had the wrong address."

That night, like the other nights too, Roberto looked charming. The man was always neat and fragrant. But, tonight Ciara felt even more pounding when he saw Roberto coming. Carlotta told Ciara that a few days ago she met Roberto and Gretta in Verona. So, according to Ciara, this is a good opportunity.

Meeting in person to apply would be much better than having to go over the phone. Luckily Roberto has not flown back to London.

Ciara let out a sweet smile. "Ah. It's nothing. You've been driving all the way from Verona for seven hours. At least I should do this."

"Hire the whole restaurant?" Roberto still laughed in amazement.

Ciara. "For two hours only. I'm saving my allowance because there's a chance that Alessandro Ferrara won't be my sister-in-law anymore."

Roberto was silent. "So Carlotta also called me about the matter. He said he and Alessandro didn't love each other. That's a lie too big. When they met at Salumeria Gironda, they were still clinging to each other very affectionately."

"That's how." Ciara rolled her eyeballs. "That's how Papa behaves. He wants to separate my brother from Alessandro. Papa doesn't want to see the fact that my brother loves Alessandro."

"You're right." Roberto nodded. "So you asked me to come over here to talk about their divorce?"

Ciara bit her own lips as she was nervous again. "Later. Let's order first. What do you want to eat?"

Roberto called the waiter. The waiter came quickly and efficiently, explaining what the most recommended menus were there. Roberto's choice fell on risotto with wine sauce and castelmagno cheese. While Ciara asked to bring all menus made from beef, lamb, scallop, and all kinds of dessert.

"You're really hungry, huh?" Roberto looked at Ciara in disbelief.

Ciara flicked her hand. "We'll eat it all together."

Roberto laughs. "When I really have to pay you back."

Ciara nodded. "should."

Roberto and Ciara finished all the food in an hour. When Ciara saw that Roberto looked full and satisfied, the girl opened her mouth. "So, you already know, right, that Papa is obsessed with making you the son-in-law of our family?"

Roberto laughs. "My father did too. According to him, it would be great if our families both combined the wine company. With that profitable union, we can jointly develop the business. It might even make it to international markets like Ferrara."

Ciara nodded. "true."

"Then?" Roberto wiped his mouth with a napkin and waited for Ciara to continue.

Ciara wet her own lips. "Then, that means it doesn't matter, right, if you marry any Marinelli girl?"

Roberto's facial features turned serious. "What do you really want to say, Ciara?"

Ciara swallowed her hard-earned saliva. "Why don't you just marry me, then?"

The question was successful in making Roberto widen his eyes wide.
