When Alessandro's private jet lands in his private hangar at John F Airport. Kennedy, United States, time shows at three in the morning. The man went straight to his apartment at 432 Park Avenue Penthouse. He plans to unwind there for a moment before heading to a suite he has rented at the Empire State Building as the headquarters of his new subsidiary.
Alessandro had so much to do, but his mind was constantly on Carlotta. Her little heart said that leaving her now was a mistake, even though the reason was work. Alessandro was beset with feelings of guilt, for some reason.
His phone was ready in hand, but he was still hesitant to make a long-distance call to Rome. Uh. Besides, it's still morning. Carlotta had to be put out of her mind before she made her mind even more chaotic.
Alessandro went to wash himself in the toilet of his apartment. One of the reasons he chose this apartment to buy is the heating tiles located in the bathroom. The man liked it so much because with the technology, he did not have to worry about winter. Carlotta would love to spend the winter here. Especially, she could visit her mother.
Didn't Carlotta ever say she wanted to go to New York to meet her mother?
Alessandro twirled the two wedding invitations in his hand. He wanted to surprise Carlotta by inviting her mother and stepfather.
Carlotta would be happy, wouldn't she?
Alessandro only hoped that one day she would see her sincerity.

Signor Benito and his wife live in a luxury apartment in the City Spire Penthouse, New York. Upon hearing that Alessandro Ferrara wanted to visit, Signor Benito cancelled all of his promises that day. His wife, Caterina, also prepared everything as best she could. They plan to host Alessandro for lunch at their residence.
Just at the promised time, a man in an elegant suit came over. Alessandro Ferrara is clearly far more charming in reality than his pictures in tabloids have been.
Signor Benito greeted the young man and immediately invited him in.
"It's an honor to visit here. Is Carlotta coming with you?" Signor Benito asked.
Alessandro smiled. "Honor is with me, for both of you have been kind enough to accept my sudden visit. No, Carlotta's not coming. She's a big pregnant."
"Ah. I see." Signor Benito nodded understandingly.
Signor Benito then invited Alessandro in and galloped first into the dining room. Caterina, the mother of Carlotta, greets Alessandro after her husband. "It's great to finally meet you, Alessandro. Your face is no stranger."
Alessandro laughed softly. "I'm Lucia Russo's son, Signora."
Caterina scrunched her forehead. Her brain was spinning fast trying to remember who Lucia Russo was. Then, when she finally remembered, Caterina's mouth gaped so surprised her. "Oh, Dio. You're Lucia Russo's son? Who works in the old mansion that belonged to my ex-husband?"
Alessandro smiled and nodded.
Caterina still looked at him in disbelief. "Lucia is so beautiful. I remember it clearly. She was the prettiest waitress in the Marinelli mansion. But, I really didn't expect him to be related to the man from the Ferrara family."
Alessandro laughed softly. "Yes. Turns out there was a meaning behind the name Ferrara that he gave me. Ever since I was a child I also wondered why my mother didn't give me her surname. I don't have a father."
"Oh my God." Caterina was surprised, but looked pleased. "Come, let's go in. There's so much to talk about."
***
Caterina clearly reminded Alessandro of Carlotta. Her beauty, her elegance, her way of speaking and her way of smiling all declined in her first daughter. In an instant, Alessandro felt comfortable talking to the middle-aged woman who still looked very young.
Alessandro clearly remembers Mrs Caterina Marinelli, long ago. He was a warm man, inversely proportional to Carlotta's father. Alessandro did not get to know Caterina long ago, but that brief encounter in the past gave a good impression on the little Alessandro's mind.
However, Alessandro knows everyone has their own path and choices. And he felt out of place to judge Carlotta's mother's decision just yet.
After all, her current husband was also a good man. Much better than Carlotta's real father, if Alessandro could argue.
This apartment is very large. Almost as big as Alessandro himself. The living room can accommodate about three hundred invited guests, if the couple wants to hold a party. The view of the city stretching from its large windows is also one of the most amazing sights to be found in New York.
Caterina received the best wine that Alessandro brought from Italy, then took the man directly following her husband to the dining room.
A couple of waiters came and served lunch. Signor Benito invited Alessandro to begin tasting the dish, and he himself also began to raise a fork and knife. The lunch was filled with varied seafood.
"I hope no food makes you allergic, Alessandro?" Signor Benito asked.
Alessandro. "I can eat anything, Signor. Thank you." Thank you."
Caterina said to her husband, "It turns out I've known Alessandro since he was a kid, honey."
Signor Benito was surprised. "really? How come?"
Caterina smiled at Alessandro. "He's my friend Lucia Russo's son."
Signor Benito nodded. "The world is so narrow, huh? I didn't know you knew the daughter-in-law of the Ferrara family. Didn't you live in Verona all this time?"
Caterina sighed. "The story is long."
Alessandro smiled, understanding that Caterina did not want to tell Alessandro's past. "It's okay, Signora. I don't mind at all." Alessandro looked at Signor Benito. "My mother was a servant in the Marinelli house. The Ferrara family had no idea that my mother was pregnant when she left Ferrara's house in Rome. Before working at Marinelli's house, my mother was in a relationship with my father and didn't get my blessing."
Signor Benito was stunned. "Yes God. So complicated. I'm glad you're where you belong now."
"Well, by the way about blessing, does the Ferrara family approve of your relationship with my daughter Carlotta?" Caterina asked.
Alessandro. "My grandfather and grandmother were thrilled to hear that they would soon have a great-granddaughter."
Caterina looked radiant. "That means I'll be a grandmother soon."
Alessandro blushed a little. The man took out two invitations from his pocket, then gave them to Signor Benito and his wife. "I came here to give you this invitation. I hope you can join us at our celebration."
Signor Benito accepted the invitation with teary eyes. "I don't have any children, so I've considered Caterina's children my own. I'd really like to see them."
Caterina looked at her husband full of gratitude. "You've done enough bamyak for them, honey. Especially for Carlotta's career success."
Then, Caterina spoke to Alessandro. "I heard that my ex-husband is now on the run for money from the Ferrara family. Is that true?"
Alessandro laughed softly. "Everything is. I retracted my report six months ago and considered it all paid off, but he doesn't seem to know."
"really? So, is she also coming to your wedding? Who's gonna take Carlotta to the altar?" Signor Benito asked.
Alessandro sipped his mineral water before saying, "I don't know if he will come. However, it was clearly not him who would escort Carlotta to the altar."
"Yes, if allowed, I can do that." Signor Benito offered to.
Alessandro looked at Signor Benito and his wife, somewhat unwell. "Look. I don't know if you know, but Carlotta has an older brother."
Caterina fell silent, then snorted in disdain. "I knew. Giacomo's name, isn't he? He's my ex-husband's son with his mistress slut at the beginning of our marriage."
Signor Benito looked at his wife concerned. Alessandro continued eating as if no one had said anything.
