Prison of Love

Prison of Love
Pledged

60

I bowed, my tongue was muddled and I had no proper words to refute his words. I realized, that what Hengky said was all true. To be honest, I knew that if I let this wound drag on, I would only spread the same pain to those around me. Not only will I feel the pain, but also those near me.

How could I have been so selfish all this time? I always positioned myself to suffer the most, always did not consider Hengky's presence, and my life seemed to be at a standstill on the events of that afternoon with Andy.

Without me knowing it, the hurt I felt was even more painful for my partner, for someone who truly loved me.

Hengky let out a long sigh, “I know you're traumatized, dear. I know the pain caused by the wound has not yet recovered, but please, from this day on never bring up the past. It's all over, Naya. You see me, I am your future. I'm always there for you.”

“Sorry... forgive me..” I said slowly while bowed.

Hengky approached me then hugged me gently, “Promise yes, never reveal the problem again.”

I let go of his embrace then nodded, “I promise.”

“I'm not messing around with this relationship, Naya. I'm serious and I'm not interested in just looking for a moment's pleasure through dating relationship status. You know, there's a lot of opportunities or loopholes for me if I just want to find a woman to have fun with. But you yourself see, have I ever been like that?”

I shook weakly.

“You're precious, Naya. You deserve to be loved and treated well by a man. All you need is to trust me. That'sallthatis. Not hard, is it?”

“Sorry, dear..” just that sentence came out of my mouth.

Guilt dominates this moment. If I hadn't thought of self-worth, I might have cried out for forgiveness from her.

Naya doesn't know herself! You should be grateful that there are men as good as Hengky who want to be with you!

My head is getting bowed. I desperately tried to keep the tears from falling through his crater.

Don't cry.don't cry, Naya. Don't make things any more difficult.

“You want to know? Last night I even intended to propose to you.”

Hengky's sudden statement made me raise my head then look into his eyes in disbelief, “What? What did you say, honey?”

“I'm sure you heard clearly my sentence earlier..” Hengky killed my question with a perfectly etched sweet smile.

Oh my God, that smile is so sweet.

“I'm confused, somehow the concept of the application in your opinion but the obvious in my place is not like that, dear.”

Right now I was pressing tightly against the amazed eyes towards Hengky. I think my smile has been set in normal fashion, he won't know just from the eyes, will he?

”Eh, you know?”

He could actually read the meaning of the eye gaze?

“If I propose to you, will you accept?” Hengky walked over to me, positioning himself standing right behind me.

“Wait a minute, here we are again talking what the hell?” I was confused while still trying to smile, ignoring the sudden heartbeat of hunting.

“Can you see here, Darling?”

I turned around and instantly my pupils grew. While closing my mouth, I felt my eyes suddenly foggy.

Hengky smiled gently as she took out a ring box from inside her pocket, “This is not a proposal, it's just that I want you to always wear this ring, as a sign that you belong to me.”

He often calls me his. But this time it felt different. I mean it with a different meaning. My hair felt goosebumps as my mind re-imagined something I shouldn't be thinking about right now.

“It.... it is too luxurious for women se..”.

“Tuh right, start again.” Hengky cut my sentence. He scrunched his forehead while looking into my eyes pretending to be angry. His hand sticking out towards me gave a code for me to thrust a ring finger at him.

Half in doubt I'm finger-pointing. When Hengky put a sparkling white ring on my finger, suddenly the feeling of haru increasingly seething self-control.

This feeling is too much. I am not being proposed or hearing Hengky reciting a sacred pledge. Merely, I did not expect with my situation like this, Hengky still treated me well, never brought up the wound even forbid me to talk about it.

Shinta's words back then ring in my ear, “you're lucky, Naya.”

Yes, Shinta was right. Hengky was the most beautiful rainbow after a thunderstorm destroyed my life. For a little creature like us, the vastness of the world can only be borne through love. It was love that made me believe that Hengky would continue to make me happy without me having to beg him.

Hasn't anyone ever said that love is rich? Those who make you a beggar are not worthy of you.

I looked into Hengky's eyes, trying to tell him that no matter what he felt, I was in it.

Hengky kissed my hand then whispered softly, “Love you, Naya..”.

Ah, I can't hold back these tears any longer. The feeling of haru mixed happily made my cheeks wet with tears. I shut my mouth trying to hold back so that my crying doesn't sound loud.

Hengky smiled gently and grabbed me into her arms. Rubbing my back he said, “Don't ever think you're not worth it, honey. I love you consciously and will continue to love you patiently.”

My tears are getting out even more.
