54. Billing Promises

Alex blinked his eyes repeatedly as soon as he opened his eyes a moment ago. He stared at the timid looking sunlight greeting his skin from the side of the white curtain in the room. Her hands blocked the sun glare from her face until she saw Hani drying her wet hair. Alex changes his sleeping position to sit and lean on the back of the bed while trying to remember what happened last night because as he last remembered he and Hani were watching a movie and after that he did not remember anythingwhatt.

"Did anything happen last night, honey?" alex asked as he got out of bed and approached Hani.

"What do you mean, Alex?" hani asked back with a surprised face, "don't you think of a pervert?" the curve.

"It's not like that. It's just that I was scared that last night I was doing something I couldn't control and it wasn't something you liked" Alex said gently, stroking Hani's still damp hair, "cause I promised you I wouldn't break your privacy until we got married, honey."

Hani pinched Alex's stomach, "Don't make me moved, Alex." she chuckled.

Alex smiled sweetly and then replied to Hani's pinch by slowly chopping the two cheeks of the woman. "Did nothing happen last night?" ask again.

"You seem to expect something Alex to happen," Hani continued to dry her hair, "you fell asleep in the middle of the movie we were watching, even I had to take pains to move you to bed," chirps with bulging cheeks because they are still upset about having to move Alex's body which is much heavier and bigger than his own body.

"What?" alex exclaimed in a big voice making Hani look at him in confusion, "I slept soundly?"

Hani gave a small nod, "Yes, you fell asleep very soundly like a baby" he said.

"Are you sure?" Alex looks at Hani doubtfully even though he knows that the woman is unlikely to lie but because he cannot accept the reality if he ends up falling asleep for the first time in three years. He always had trouble sleeping and would have nightmares every time he fell asleep. That was the reason why he still did not believe what he heard from Hani.

"Why do you keep repeating the same question, Alex?" ketus Hani begins to get annoyed at having to hear and answer the same questions from Alex repeatedly.

Alex laughed out loud as he walked back and forth in front of Hani with occasional loud shouting until Hani began to hesitate and afraid to see Alex's strange attitude since. Hani doesn't even know what to say and just keeps quiet as if he didn't see anything, trying to ignore Alex who even now jumps like a child which makes him start to cringe.

*What happened? Is he possessed? *hani's thought in heart.

After finishing breakfast, Hani and Alex rush back to their previous hotel to prepare for their return to Indonesia. When they reached the hotel lobby, they were treated to a scene where Chris was seen chatting with some local women who might work at the hotel. Seeing that made Alex shake a little because it meant Chris who*playboy*had returned. They approach Chris who seems unaware of their presence due to the fun of chatting and occasionally teasing the two strangers.

Alex immediately embraces Chris making his best friend surprised and spontaneously turned his head, "Are you looking for a victim of your depravity?" said it.

"I also have to move on so that I don't just bear witness to your love story" Chris cynically said.

"But now is not the right time because we have to go home" Alex muttered and pulled Chris from the presence of the two foreign women. Alex looked down at the sign and continued his steps with Chris who was grumbling.

Alex reached into his jacket pocket when he felt his phone vibrate. There was a message from Irene.

Irene: We meet later in the same place. Don't forget to bring your future wife.

After they reached the hotel room, Hani seemed to be tidying up her suitcase while humming a little. Chris immediately rushed closer to Hani, ”I miss you, Han,” seemed excessive. Alex clucked annoyed with his furrowed brows, not liking to see Chris soberly familiar with his future wife.

“I miss you too, Chris, even though you often piss me off,” Hani reply also kind of makes Alex start to heat up looking at their silly behavior. There is no intentional element there, but at certain times Hani and Chris can be very close because Hani feels Chris is very similar to his sister, Jhoni.

“Are you guys always like this when I'm not around?” ask Alex ketus.

Chris looked at Alex innocently as if nothing had happened, “No, we were more than this when you weren't around,” his strange smile that Hani replied with a smile that Alex didn't understand what he meant.

"Do you guys intentionally upset me?" alex asked with sharp eyes.

"What do you mean, Alex? Why are you upset?" asked Hani with a plain face that immediately made Alex's frustration reduced.

"You're jealous of me?" chris taunts then laughs back and forth because his sudden acting with Hani managed to make Alex upset. Chris did it in return because Alex was bothering him while chatting with women in the lobby earlier and the funny thing is that Hani was even dissolved in his acting so that the stupid Alex could not distinguish which one was acting and which one was acting tangible.

Hani laughs because he saw Alex's sour face that looks jealous and also angry because his face has turned red now. "Don't make me angry" Alex murmured in anger because Chris upset him and looked stupid in Hani's presence.

Alex pursed his lips as he stepped away leaving Hnai and Chris who were still laughing loudly and mocking him made the two people immediately panicked because they thought he was angry, but he actually just went to the toilet. After closing the toilet door, Alex took his phone and called Irene.

"Sorry, Irene. It seems like Hani and I can't leave because Hani suddenly has a fever," Alex lies as soon as Irene hears him cheering up.

"really? It's unfortunate," Irene's listless, "is there no other day?"

"No, Irene. We will return to Indonesia tomorrow. I felt bad for cancelling our promise" Alex said quietly so as not to be heard out there hoping Hani didn't hear it.

"Say what time of your departure? I'll come to the airport, at least to say goodbye" Irene exclaimed.

"No, it'll just trouble you, Irene," Alex politely declined.

"I beg Alex, just once. I really want to meet your future wife" Irene said.

Alex took a deep breath, "All right. I'll tell you later," he said, then disconnected.

The reason for not telling Hani and lying to Irene, no other because he felt that bringing two people together with a condition where one is his ex-lover and one is his future wife is not a good idea because it is not possible to unite the time alone now because the story is different. For that reason Alex chose not to mix two different things because it would only cause problems that might occur. Instead of taking risks, he chose not to give a gap to the problem to appear again. And this is the best.
