Perfect Husband's

Perfect Husband's
44. Special Gift

Today is the schedule promised by Chelsa's management and the production team of the talk show hosted by Irene. The plan is they will go to shoot at 03:00 p.m. It was 07:00 in the morning and Irene was still at her house, not even moving from her bed since an hour ago she woke up.

In the past few days, Irene had been unable to sleep well and the reason why it happened was because of the burden of thoughts that kept haunting her.

It had been four days that Alex had not contacted her since they last met at lunch with Chelsa. From that moment on Alex did not ask for news or just the man told her how she was. That made Irene nervous. He wanted to ask why the man had not called or sent him a message lately but selfishly he chose to be quiet and remain stubborn. His mind was still dominated by Chelsa's words the other day.

*Tired of her own thoughts, Irene got out of bed because her mother had called for breakfast. Since today she is going to go to work and filming, Irene intends to go to the gym* so that she looks fit later. After saying goodbye to her mother, Irene immediately darted to the gym which was not far from her home. Because of the close distance, Irene chose to use her mother's motorbike.

When he arrived, Irene was called James— the owner of his gym subscription since college.

"Morning, Irene. Did you make a deal with Alex today?" saa James with a big smile.

*"lex? Is she here?" Irene was surprised for a moment before she finally remembered that she and Alex were indeed members* at the same gym.

James looked puzzled but he did not comment otherwise, "Come in, he may be waiting for you."

Irene gave a small nod then immediately went to the locker to change clothes. When he was done, he immediately entered the heavy weight gym area and right, he saw Alex there. It seemed like the man had been there for a long time judging from the sweat that was stuck all over his body. As Alex looked around, their eyes finally met. For the first time they look strange and awkward. There was no smile or greeting as they looked up. Even the two were just pecking, as if time was stopping between them. Where did the always cheerful and romantic lovers go? I don't know, both don't know the answer.

Alex walked slowly towards Irene. She smiled faintly and was forced to do so, "H-hai, Irene," he said hesitantly and awkwardly.

There was no reply from Irene. The girl did not even smile, just putting on a flat face and a pushy look. A moment of silence, Irene let out a soft sigh, "After I thought about why you haven't contacted me lately, it turns out that you seem all right. I thought you were seriously ill or even disappeared" he murmured and approached Alex. Now their distance is only a few steps.

"Why are you silent? Did something happen?" Irene said again because she saw Alex frozen and did not respond in the slightest.

"I, I have to tell you something, Irene." Alex said with a sad face.

Irene's heart ached as she looked at the man's sad expression and low voice. It was as if he had just heard bad news when in reality the man had not said anything. "Bad thing or good thing?" ask Irene.

Alex is speechless. He was once again silent and made a bad feeling come back to Irene. The girl stared at the proposal ring Alex gave her a week ago, still curling sweetly in her fingers.

"Is this about our relationship?" great-grandson Irene bowed.

Alex's eyes spontaneously rounded. She did not expect that Irene could guess what was on her mind. His lips are too thick to speak. "Where do you know? Did my dad see you?" Alex held onto both of Irene's shoulders.

Irene looked at Alex and then grinned, "It's true."

"What do you mean, Irene? Let me explain!" Alex tries to convince Irene as the girl begins to shed tears.

Irene fell silent then took off the ring that was on her ring finger slowly. He stared at the ring until sobs began to sound from his lips. "If you never meant to marry me, why would you propose to me, Alex? You know, it hurts a lot. I was so happy when you proposed to me. I feel like I'm the luckiest woman in the world because I was proposed to by you. But, what's the truth? You even intend to break our relationship after proposing to me," he poked as he looked at Alex fixedly, "if you knew we weren't in a match in the first place, why should you give me hope Alex? Stupidly I didn't realize we were different. You don't deserve to marry a woman from a poor family like me. You should marry someone equal to you. Then why do you have to pin this ring?"

Irene grabbed Alex's right hand and placed the ring there. He sobbed to tears at the sad and disappointed expression of the man he loved so much.

"Whatchu mean? Who wants to end our relationship? I don't know who told you Irene, but listen I never meant to leave you. Even though my father betrothed me, that doesn't mean I'm going to leave you. I must have married you." Alex pulls Irene's hand, tries to put the ring on the girl's fingers, but Irene quickly pulls it.

Irene shook her head in a small cry that did not subside, "No, Alex. No matter how much I love you, we can't be together. Don't fight your father just because I'm worthless. I don't deserve this great one of you. I've been too stupid to fall for one-sided love all this time."

"I love you so much, Irene. Don't say it like that!" alex growled at Irene who was starting to lose her mind due to too many thoughts.

Irene pushed Alex's body away from him, "We'll end it here. We broke up" he said, then ran away. Alex is in his position. I was understanding Irene's words just now. Everything felt so fast that he could not think clearly.

Alex quickly chased after Irene. He looked around and found Irene nowhere. Alex asked James and said Irene had just left on her bike.

*"He just left the gym*" the burly man reported to his boss, Chelsa. The man immediately drove his car following Irene from behind. "He's taking his bike at high speed."

*"Well, let me know later the development*Luke," Chelsa said from across the street and cut off their connection.

Luke followed Irene at high speed as well, so as not to lose track of the woman. Luke sees Irene staying at high speed even as they are downtown.

Irene drove so fast that she didn't care about the traffic lights anymore. He continued to break through until at the intersection of four in the center of the city, he realized his stupidity. He forced his motorbike until it came to a halt in the middle of a crossroads. The cars had to forcefully crumple as well upon seeing the Irene motor that appeared suddenly.

However, fate did not side with Irene. Moments later he and his motorcycle crashed when a car hit him from behind. And at that very instant, Irene lost everything.

Chelsa looked at her watch then pecked in annoyance, "Did this not start as well? It's gone by the time it should have been" he grumbled at his manager.

"It looks like the presenter hasn't arrived yet" the manager replied.

Eyebrow Irene linked. He then took his phone and immediately called—Luke, to ask where Irene was. But his subordinates did not receive his call. He is upset that this is the first time Luke has ignored his call.

Suddenly the atmosphere became noisier on the back-stage as the crew began to shout and scream hysterically. Chelsa looked at everyone in wonder.

"What's the fuss?" chelsa asked one of the crew.

"Sorry Chelsa, it looks like we've just dropped filming today" the crew replied.

"Why?" chelsa asked confusedly.

The crew looked doubtful and fearful, "Our host and president had a terrible accident. He's in emergency surgery right now."

Irene's eyes were round, her breathing was fast. "Who's the presenter's name?"

"Irene Abella."

Chelsa's body is squeezing. He sat back down and his head was dizzy.

His phone shook, a phone from his other subordinates. He put his phone to his ear without saying anything.

"Boss, Luke died in a traffic accident."

Chelsa's breathing was heavy, "How come?"

"He hit a motorized woman and lost control until another car hit Luke's car from the left side. He died on the spot from a back-to-back accident."

Chelsa's phone fell off. His hands shook violently, his lips twitched, "Is this what I'm doing?" frightened mumbling.
