"Don't worry about me, this only lasts three months. For three months I will play his good wife. I was also struggling to raise money to live after parting from him."
Ben looked at his cousin. He realized his weak self was powerless to resist Maxilian. "Have you laid out a plan?"
"I'm moving to China. I have friends there."
"Friends? a boy or a girl?"
"You are like a mother."
"Of course I have to ask for details. Because I'm all you have right now."
Julia grunting. "Of course, girlfriends. I know where I'm going. So you don't think too much."
Ben nodded. "If I get out of jail, I'll help you. Dad always comes to see me in jail. He told me that he couldn't meet you easily even if we had blood ties. Did something happen? Does he treat you well?"
Julia nodded slowly. "I'm fine, his family's good too. Her grandparents treated me like I was their own granddaughter. They even gave me a five percent stake in the Lunox family in China. And also they gave me the power to enter into important meetings of their company.
"They did all that?" ben asked surprised.
Julia nodded. "But I'm not gonna use any of that. I don't want to let them down when they find out the truth about our contract marriage."
Ben nodded. "How long is the contract?"
"Three months, and it's been two months. I'll be separated from him soon."
Ben got up, patted Julia's shoulder slowly. "You did your best. But remember to protect yourself. Do not publish your marriage. You know in any way, you are the one who will be harmed. You'll only be known badly for being his ex-wife. And he, just a wealthy widower in power. His position as the leader of the Lunox family would make people's views different."
Julia stunned. He felt stifled by Ben's words. "You're right. I almost forgot to keep my good name. You're the only one who knows about this. I wish you could keep your mouth shut."
"how's Sely?"
"The condition of his soul was shaken violently. It doesn't look like it's going back to normal."
Ben laughs. "Isn't that what you want? I know how you feel. Betrayed and nearly died. Even your whole family fell victim to your best friend's betrayal. I'm not going to ban. But promise me. Don't do anything rash as long as I'm in jail. Later, I will accompany you to find a way in every problem.
"Currently, you're acting like you're the best brother. Pitying."
Julia stood up and left. He was again busy with a stack of company files to help Maxilian. But the unexpected thing is, Maxilian knew Julia was meeting Ben and crying. The next day, this is where it is.
Ben was confused when the prison warden said someone had come to see him. Ben doesn't understand why Julia came back after her meeting yesterday. But Ben remained stiff, as he saw a handsome man sitting next to Julia. Seeing him sharp as if wanting to tear him apart. Making his feelings uncomfortable, even though he realized that the man in front of him was his cousin's contract husband.
Julia didn't understand why she had to sit here side by side with Maxilian. He only saw the eyes of these two men in front of him as if they were going to throw arrows at each other. The killing aura on each of these men made him wonder. Did he make a mistake? Ever since he came home, Maxilian had become very cold to him.
"Ehem. maxilian, let me introduce you, he is..."
"So he's the one?" cut Maxilian cold. His eyes flashed with anger. But he tried to hold himself back by silently staring at Ben coldly.
"meaning?" ask Julia not to understand.
"Oh, so he's the one." It was Ben's turn to talk. His cynical laughter sounded with raining eyes. He realized the charisma Maxilian had. But he will not hesitate. This man has made his cousin's life difficult. So he would warn Maxilian as an older brother to protect his younger brother.
ben was silent, but the next second he smiled. "Is that just your ability? As a man, you turned out to be quite a coward. I won't let you keep playing with my cousin!"
"Jail is perfect for a braggart like you. Are you as good as a brother? Looks like you'd rather die rotting in jail."
Julia slips. Maxilian's threats never play games. He was just about to stand up, before Ben finally stood up first and grabbed Maxilian's shirt collar. To his surprise, he sat down after having his shoulder pressed by Maxilian's hand to remain silent.
"If I knew once again that my cousin was hurt because of your crazy cousin, I wouldn't let you go!"
Maxilian took Ben's hand off the hard of his shirt violently. His facial expression cooled. "Worry about yourself. Don't approach my wife. Especially making her cry!"
Ben sat back down and thought about what was happening right now, "So because Julia was crying? " question Ben with relief when this man came threatening him just to find out about Julia crying. "What if I don't make her cry? How do you treat the trauma of always facing death from your family!"
"It's my business, I don't need your opinion!"
"If so give him freedom!" pinta Ben without fear. He glanced at Julia who was confused because he did not understand the direction of their conversation. Freedom, is something Julia misses most. He wanted to get out of Maxilian's grasp.
"You command me or ask me?"asked Maxilian coldly. The look in his eyes locked onto Ben without shifting a bit. He knew Ben's words weren't the man's whole wish. The freedom that Ben asked for was clear about Julia and herself.
"You or Julia should be free?"
"What if both?"
A faint smile flashed. Maxlian is losing patience. "You really don't know yourself! Mr. Benjamin, it seems you will be very disappointed. Julia, we're leaving." He stood up and left Julia who was sculpting.
"What's? Butwhy? I don't even understand the direction of your conversation" Julia said asking for an explanation, but Maxilian didn't let her keep talking.
"Come home" Ben commanded standing up. Her eyes locked onto Julia's body gently. There is a sense of concern for everything his cousin is going through. He knew that the man would not be that easy to let go of his cousin. What happened to Julia was a real prison.
Maxilian. Maxilian's eyes. It is certain that the man will never release Julia even after their marriage contract is over. Through Maxilian's attitude, it was a notice that Julia would be with him forever, even though she had to die rotting with him.
Julia turned around as Ben's voice sounded. "Julia, she knows that I already know about your marriage contract,"
**
On the way home, Maxilian was silent. No matter how much Julia asked, he just kept silent not interested in answering.
Julia was tired and silent. He stared at the street back home and frowned when he knew the direction they were heading in was different. Finally, he returned to voice.
"Lian, this is not the way home. Where are we going?"
Maxilan was silent again. He only focused on driving until they reached the airport.
"Down."
Julia went down and followed maxilian from behind. Up ahead, Tomas had already bowed deeply upon seeing her. But finally Tomas kept talking to Maxilian with all the reports that he did not understand. Feeling suspicious, he turned his back to go back. But what happened, Maxilian held his hand and pulled it forcibly.
"Lian, let go."
Maxilian just stood still and kept walking forward. He was calm and cold at the same time. No matter the other person's gaze because he pulled his wife's hand by force. His eyes and body were focused only in the front direction. Dragging Julia's hand even though the girl rebelled wanting to break away.
"Maxilian, I said let go!"
