Gerdy drove the car with a rush of traffic. His face is very wrinkled. Karlina knew something was going on at the lodge which disappointed her. Was Nadine caught cheating again?

"You want a story?" Be careful Karlina volunteered for a vent. "Take out all the junk to reduce the burden on your heart."

"Nadine isn't as beautiful as I thought she was" said Gerdy with a tight chest. "She's just like most girls. Run into another guy's arms when I'm not by his side."

"Are you sure of what you saw?"

"Nadine's never celebrated a birthday with me, tonight she's celebrating with Bradley."

"That doesn't prove your boyfriend cheated on you. In the huts of many people. Is he celebrating both?"

"I don't care if he cheats or not. It insulted me so much."

"It could have been a surprise from his friends."

"The birthday cake was a surprise from Bradley and he accepted. I gave the same surprise last year, he refused me outright. Is this not an insult?"

Gerdy could not accept such treatment. When a boyfriend puts another man first, it means that their relationship is over.

"You have built your dreams with great difficulty" said Karlina. "Don't let the dream run out because of a small problem."

Gerdy looked on unhappily. "Little problem you say? It's a matter of self-worth. What did he mean by receiving the birthday cake?"

"You can ask me carefully what the reason is. Nadine could have been difficult to resist because of the trap situation."

"There's no good reason for that. She could have refused a birthday cake from me, her boyfriend, in a complicated situation."

"I know you love Nadine very much. You want to sacrifice your love for a birthday cake?"

"Love is not a consideration when it comes to self-esteem."

Arrogant guy, Karlina's mind is upset. He is more concerned with self-esteem and shakes up feelings. He did not think how hurt Nadine was because of her love for birthday cakes. 

"You take it easy" said Gerdy. "I didn't ask you to be a wife even though I failed to marry Nadine. You can continue your plans with Robby."

"You mustn't be selfish," Karlina softly rebuked. "You're so disappointed by the anniversary, what if Nadine knew what we were doing?"

"What have we done?" turning Gerdy fierce. "We never do anything."

Karlina smiled. "What you mean is biological needs. You used to start and end the meeting by making love. But dating isn't just that."

"Then what else?"

"A lot of what we do; lunch, dinner, healing, shopping, clubbing...."

"I often do all that with Surya. You think I'm dating her?"

"So you think in Nadine's eyes there's no difference between going with me or going with Surya?"

"There is no kiss or wikwik. Just hold on to you."

"Then let Nadine celebrate her birthday with Bradley before she becomes your wife."

"But he never celebrated birthdays with me, that's the difference."

"So if he's celebrating with you, then he can celebrate with Bradley?"

"It's not really so."

This guy was never hurt, thought Karlina bland. He couldn't accept when it happened.

"You should think carefully" said Karlina. "He's just celebrating his birthday with Bradley, while what have we done? Lunch both, dinner both, healing both...."

"All I do is respect our parents' decisions. What did he do to honor who? Don't measure his actions, measure his essence. Don't understand either? We've had a chat about this."

"So fuckin' bad?"

"I'm not angry. I just want you to not directly judge that the propeller of one fuel tank is bigger than the matchmaker. Not necessarily. How about making a match to burn one tank of fuel?"

"The logic can only be accepted by a play boy like you, who adheres to free life."

"We've just had a chat about this."

"Because you left all that behind?"

"Because you don't understand."

Gerdy slows down the car and turns on the penny lamp, then turns into the courtyard of the five-star hotel. The car stopped in front of the lobby.

"Fetch here" said Gerdy. "I want to rest. Tired."

"I'm with you."

"You've been waiting for Robby at Tanamera."

"You're upset, I'm afraid you're back. I'm insulted when you call a bispak girl."

"Zorahi."

"I really want to rest."

Gerdy got out of the car. He went into the lobby. Then book a room to the front office and take the elevator to the room for a break.

Gerdy fell asleep in a luxurious bed. His face is very dark. The incident at the lodge left him with a great inner conflict, between love and self-esteem.

Gerdy woke up when a hand gently stroked her hair, and saw Karlina lying on her side.

"So soon you're back" said Gerdy.

Karlina smiled sweetly. "I've been three hours leaving you."

Gerdy sat up. "What did you say to Robby?"

"I said you couldn't come because there was a surprise birthday from boarding mom for Nadine."

"You're telling me if the receptionist can get into my room?"

"I told you girls order you."

"I don't usually use call girls."

"I'm claiming to be your sister." Karlina smiled with honey. "So you want to wear me? Aren't they call girls?"

"When do I wear my own sister?"

"The brother's a lie."

"Don't fish. We're just two in this room. As agreed, we must not involve feelings."

"I don't involve feelings."

"Oh, yes," Gerdy's smile faintly. "So it involves the vital organs, the feeling is just the impact."

"It looks like you're better."

"I never think about women for too long."

Karlina thought. How can Gerdy forget Nadine that short while their journey of love has been so long?

Play boy never really fell in love!

Or is Gerdy just playing? Pretending to have moved on when his heart almost drowned? He doesn't want to get himself involved too far. His involvement must be a burden, because how is he an official wife candidate.

Gerdy does not want himself to sacrifice to build the love of a future husband who is experiencing destruction. He read those worries because of their closeness all along.

"I'm afraid to fall in love with you" Karlina once said. "So you're not too good with me."

"Falling in love with a handsome guy and a pimp is normal."

"Robby must be hurt. He believes in you so much."

"Then I never intended to take you from his side."

"I can't leave Robby either."

"Because he took your crown?"

"It wasn't Robby who took away my honor. A man who was my first love."

Gerdy surprised. "Keep...Robby didn't mind that?"

"Robby never talks about the past. Because everyone has a different past."

"It's so good for your girlfriend."

"That's why I'm so cute."

"Robby is the only son of a wealthy family. Why did they allow for young marriage?"

"Perhaps because it's so unfortunately the same Robby."

Excessive parental affection sometimes makes it difficult for children to mature. Or parents never consider their children adult? 

So it is not strange if the household has often interfered parents. Sometimes he was the judge for his son-in-law. At the end of the day, small questions become big.

Hopefully Robby and Karlina don't have that kind of situation.

Umi also never considered her son to be an adult. The business of the future wife is regulated, as if she is the one who knows the most about women.

Umi refused to be called authoritarian. He just asked Gerdy not to date Nadine. Fear of her grandson being contaminated.
