Nadine threw a glance out the windshield of her car, watching the people who came out of the gate of the mosque finished Friday prayers. But the person he was looking for was not seen until the last visitor left the holy house.
Nadine waited patiently. An hour ago, when he was coming home from college, he saw Gerdy enter the mosque on foot, and now he must still be inside.
Apparently Gerdy had repented, Nadine thought moved. He has rediscovered the path of truth. Or want to cheer up the aridity of the heart with the coolness of His word?
Soon Nadine got out of the car parked on the side of the highway as soon as she saw Gerdy appear with the man who sacrificed.
Pak Haji was amazed to see beautiful women with beautiful looks coming to them.
"Assalamu'alaikum, Mr. Haji," said Nadine kindly.
"Wa'alaikumussalam," replied Mr. Haji. "Who is it?"
"I'm Gerdy's sister."
Haji was surprised. "Gerdy's sister?"
Gerdy himself was flabbergasted. He shrugged his shoulders as Pak Haji turned his head towards him.
"She's gone from home" Nadine's smile was sweet. "Regular. The problem of young people. He never told me the same Mr Haji?"
"I even just found out Gerdy still has a family and has a sister as beautiful as this," muttered Pak Haji inexhaustible.
He knows Gerdy's not an ordinary guy. Despite not knowing much about his personal life, he believed his student was a good person. Not a recidivist or fugitive as some residents assume. But he did not expect Gerdy to come from a wealthy family. The price of the car is several times the cost of building this new mosque.
Inexhaustible Pak Haji advised his students. Whatever the reason is not allowed to run away from home. Gerdy just kept listening even though his ears were hot.
He said that when Pak Haji asked him to come home with Nadine. He just took out his uncles when they were already in a car that was sliding fast on the highway.
"What do you want exactly?" gerdy fierce grute. "Your luck is not good."
"It is precisely Mr. Haji does not believe that I speak honestly," said Nadine casually. His eyes were staring straight at the highway. "Although I feel very fit to be a wife."
"former."
"Thank you" Nadine smiled happily. "At least you've remembered that we've slept in one bed."
"He is not like those around you" snorted Gerdy. "You can care for it."
Nadine smiled with honey. "Whatever I'll do to be able to go with you."
"Where are you taking me?"
"Whichever you like."
"I'd rather get down here."
"Try it if you dare."
Nadine stepped on the gas deeply. The car flew half-flying. Run out of law conscious cars.
Gerdy clenched his jaw furiously. Of course his mind was still sane to jump down.
"Not yet to know your ex-wife's a race chaser." Nadine smiled triumphantly. "Well, if my ex-husband is good in bed."
"Let's die" said Gerdy Keki.
"The two of you."
Nadine increased the speed of her car, sliding down the road to the outside of town.
Nadine had just slowed down her car after far away from the city of Bandung. Drove on the road to climb and meandering into the coastal area. And stop by the blue waterfront.
For a moment they were swept away in each other's minds. Letting look carried by the roaring waves and crashing on the coast.
"Here we once promised," muttered Nadine breaking the silence. "On the singing of the waves, on the sun's orange."
In front of his eyes loomed over a pair of young people who were chasing while laughing. How beautiful, so beautiful, as if the world belonged to both of them, three with love.
"You remember my last words when we parted at the tollgate?" nadine asked as Gerdy made no sound, leaning silently on his chair. "Don't tell me it's not me you love. Those words still hold my heart."
"I don't remember anything anymore" Gerdy said. "My past has been swept away by the flow of life."
Nadine bit her lips, reassuring her painfully thumping chest. He looked at Gerdy with eyes covered in fog.
"Did you remember it anymore?" His voice was his gaze. "Have forgotten our past?"
Sighing softly, Nadine floated her eyes at the row of boats moored by the beach. There they once combined hearts, carving promises in one love.
"Next week the logistics manager retires," said Nadine. "You can take his place."
"My life is quieter on the streets."
"But your soul is threatened."
"You're not the clock that's counting my heartbeats."
"Your condition does not allow life on the streets" Nadine bitterly sizzled. "If you want to kill yourself, find a better way."
"Everyone is going to die" said Gerdy. "It's just about time."
"But they never turn the time around."
"Maybe my suratan should die young, rather than be old with that office."
Nadine was silent. Death is not a scary thing for Gerdy. His own life has long been dead. But for those left behind?
"Why do you always reject my kindness, baby?" look at Nadine. "Is it because I'm Bradley's wife? Why did you give it to me now that you're gonna sue him?"
"I just want to live life as it is, nothing."
"I'm worried about you."
"There's something more worth worrying about, your husband."
"What's wrong with her to worry about?"
"The wife must worry about her husband for no reason."
"You don't feel sorry for your parents?"
"Gerdy Dharmendra was never born out of the womb of an honorable woman named Saraswati."
"They miss you so much, baby" complained Nadine. "Well, I'm expecting your return."
"Know where?"
Nadine turned her gaze to the ocean. The images of the past seemed to be dancing around in the roar of the waves, and drowning left behind a piece of the wound.
"They have forgiven our sins, and accepted Idyla as her grandson."
There was a startled explosion flashed in Gerdy's frozen face. He looked up and met Nadine's eyes. But a moment later he pulled his gaze back without commenting anything.
"You don't miss your parents? Don't want to go home?"
"If there is a wish, the time has passed. I don't have anything else to take home."
"Babies...." Unknowingly Nadine grabbed his hand. "You want me to come back to you? Want to take your wife home to your parents? Say, beb. You want me to divorce my husband?"
"I want us to go back to Bandung immediately" said Gerdy flat. "Before the police arrested me for kidnapping a president director."
Car leaves the beach. But not immediately return to the city of Bandung, turn into the courtyard of a hotel and stop in front of the lobby door.
"What do you want to park here?" ask Gerdy astonished.
"The night when you go home" replied Nadine casually. "We're staying one or two nights all week end."
"We?"
"Yes we. Who else is in the car?"
Nadine got out of the car. When Gerdy did not come down as well, he walked around and opened the door.
"Smuck down" said Nadine as she pulled her hand. "Do you need to call security to drag you out?"
Gerdy was forced to get off rather than be the center of attention of hotel guests. Nadine clasped her hands tightly and took her walking towards the front office to reserve a room.
"I've booked two rooms" smiled Nadine. "But only one. So don't think dirty."
Let Gerdy not be dirty-minded and Nadine never tease him, but who can survive such an alluring charm?
