My Love Belongs Only to the Past

Gerdy was not feeling well that day. All day lying in bed. He's actually not as good as his boss. Two days to ask permission for college, after entering work fell ill.

Nadine accompanied him all day. He thought the man had fallen ill because his kidney function was impaired. Too hard to work so that it adversely affects his health.

Because Gerdy refused to go for treatment, Nadine had to call a doctor. Gerdy let it go. Free to be banned, that woman must not care.

Nadine was slightly relieved when the doctor explained the cause of her pain.

"Fatigue," said the doctor finished examining her. "Must take a lot of rest."

"From work mornings I just fell asleep, Doc," Gerdy smiled wryly.

"Drink vitamins too."

"She doesn't like to take medicine" Nadine said. "He feels strong."

"That means don't get sick" the doctor said. "Because if the pain needs to take medicine to help the healing process."

"Kecapean, right, Doc?"

"It's important, exactly" the doctor said. "He can't be too tired. Must maintain stamina. If it is ignored, one day the kidney function can stop. And you know what that means."

Death, thought Nadine gasp. And that can't happen! What's the responsibility to Gerdy's parents? He promised to return it alive, not in a coffin!

"It's better to reduce energy-intensive activities" the doctor told Gerdy before leaving. "For the safety of your soul."

"Don't make love every night" Nadine said. "Because making love is so draining."

"Love is okay" the doctor's smile faintly. "Mom can arrange for a few breaks."

"He does not want to rest because he wants to several times in one night" said Nadine spicy. "Well scheduled, Doc?"

"Mom can talk about it both. Do not engage in activities that bring death closer."

Doctors don't know, Nadine complained insipidly. Gerdy's not the one who's afraid of death. In his eyes life and death were almost wallless.

Just look, he insisted on going out of the house looking for food. Nadine bought a lot of food and drinks. Lobster and salmon smoke until cold is not touched in the slightest. His pride was too high to receive the attention of his ex-wife.

Katrin can't go home for a break because the distance from home to work is quite far. Must be late to enter if delivering dishes for lunch. He had ordered food online, but Gerdy was unwilling to eat because of Nadine's alleged order.

Rise from the bed alone staggering, still forcing yourself to walk to the door. And almost fell if Nadine didn't grab his hand. Because Gerdy refused to be helped, Nadine slammed her head and almost hit the wall if the man did not immediately reach her body.

Nadine was silent in her arms. Even the hand that was around his waist did not loosen. But then Gerdy let go of his embrace and went back to bed.

"Consider the doctor's advice" said Nadine, curtailing her annoyance. "Don't be all you want."

"I'm fine," snorted Gerdy coldly.

"If you still say it's okay, a few more months you really don't feel anything."

"It's none of your business."

"Of course it's my business! You can throw your life in a ditch anywhere. But I won't let that happen!"

"If you want to get a star, find someone who needs your help."

"I have to take you home to your parents."

"You never took it from them. I went to pay for my stupidity."

"So our love is foolishness?"

"I've forgotten whether there was ever any love between us. There is no obligation for you to return me."

"I promised your parents."

"You promised me yourself. But what do those promises mean now?"

"I'm not the one who denies it."

"Not me. But nevermind. You better go home. Your husband will be angry."

"He never let me out of the house."

"Because he doesn't know where his wife is going."

"I don't care."

"This is how you keep your loyalty?"

"My husband is in Jakarta."

"It doesn't mean you're free to wander."

"I'm visiting you! Not wandering!"

"You're my ex-husband."

"But you belong to someone else. There's no obligation to ignore me."

"You need someone to take care of you."

"But not someone else's wife."

"I'm gonna get a divorce." Nadine took a long breath. His eyes stared straight out the window. Trying to break through the dark air. "I can't keep lying to my feelings."

Now Gerdy knows what Nadine's lingering in this room for. For what faithful hours accompanied him. Katrin until succumbed to rest in the next room after returning from work. He just put some food on the little table and changed his clothes, then came out again.

Nadine apparently wanted to talk about a decision that might have been harbored long ago.

"Don't tell me Katrin has replaced me" said Nadine. His eyes looked at Gerdy dimly. "I want to live with you to suffer. Eating from the dregs of life. Enjoy the night from the rest of someone else's dreams."

"You don't want to say your life hasn't been happy, have you?" For the first time Gerdy's voice sounded soft, but without sprinkling any feelings.

"Bradley's a good husband. He never let me down. But if I'm happy, maybe I'm not here."

"I know your life is arid. You are not the type of wife who feels enough with abundant possessions to seek warmth in other men, because your husband is not able to give it."

Nadine surprised. She looked at her ex-husband without blinking, and asked, "Where do you know my husband is impotent?"

"Katrin once asked a smart person before accepting Bradley's proposal. So he refused to be his wife because inner needs were very important to him."

"Katrin also rejected your proposal knowing I must have come back to you."

"Bradley must have been hurt if you asked for a divorce because of that. I have an address to help him. Don't leave him."

"You want me to live with Bradley for good?"

"He loves you very much."

"You didn't?"

"Sinful love the wife of another."

"He himself has sinned against you."

"My love belongs only to the past."

"You deserve it back."

"I don't want to."

"Why?" nadine looked disappointed mixed with anger. "Because there's a woman better than me in bed?"

"Bradley's not a puppet. What do you consider your marriage?"

"But Bradley's been treating you like a doll. Take yours for granted."

"He never took it. I gave you up myself. And I'd like you to be married to him."

But I don't, sambar Nadine grimly. He was not willing to let Gerdy wade through life with his brother.

It feels like Nadine's determination is round. She'll ask for a divorce from her husband, and be frank that Gerdy needs her more.

However, when faced directly with her husband, Nadine's courage melted. He did not give his heart. Especially tonight Bradley is having fun winning a big tender.

"We should celebrate, Darling," Bradley roared with overflowing happiness. "I'll take you for a walk to Hawaii."

"Wasting money."

"If you had arrived in Hawaii, you would have done what you said."

Nadine returned to her position. This is not the right time to talk about this. She could not bear to throw her husband's happiness soaring high in space.

"You don't think the book is more interesting than this good news, do you, Darling?" bradley was half joking. "Can't read it postponed first?"

"Next week of exams."

"There's a follow-up exam?"

"Just like an earthquake there's aftershocks."

"I've booked a ticket."

"Ticket?" Nadine raised her face in shock. "So you're seriously going to Hawaii?"

"We've never been on a honeymoon, have we? Now is the best time!"

Next sunday? A honeymoon? Ah, while Nadine instead had the opportunity to think next week want to go to the religious court! Managing divorce! How should he end this household ark that was never lonely from his love?
