Men of the Past

Afifah was still silent in front of the operating room, his mind was muddled all the words of the man who had injured Nathan kept repeating in his memories. He sat on a chair leaning against his body, closed his eyes, hugged a backpack containing many potions and Nathan's cell phone.

As the night wore on, the hospital looked silent and calm - only the sound of the pulse and heart from the computer screen was heard, the woman was very tired and fell asleep in the waiting chair, the rancid smell of blood that had dried on his robe pierced his nose.

A man crouching in front of Afifah noticed a beautiful face that was sound asleep, he looked cold outside the room hugging his backpack. The woman quickly broke down but she soon woke up and the man immediately went into hiding.

“Ah my head is dizzy.” Afifah opened his eyes slowly, he saw that the operating room lights had died and Nathan had been moved to the incentive treatment room.

“Where did they move Nathan?” Afifah was still sitting on the chair, he felt all his body ache, and the man watched the woman from a distance.

“Nona, the patient has been moved to the hospital room, let me inter.” A nurse approached Afifah with a friendly smile.

“Thanks.” Afifah smiled and got out of the chair walking with the nurse.

“Nona, please clean yourself and this is a change of clothes.” The nurse smiled and handed me the paper bag.

“Where did you get this change of clothes?” Afifah saw a robe complete with a hijab.

“A man gave it to me, I'm sorry Miss.” The waiter came out of the room.

“Thanks.” Afifah glanced at Nathan who was still unconscious due to the influence of drugs.

The woman walked into a very spacious bathroom, the room was more like apatement than the patient's room, very luxurious with very complete equipment. Afifah cleans and freshens up in the bathroom, she comes out with new clothes and hijab.

“What mistake did you make until someone hated you so much and wanted to kill you.” Afifah noticed Nathan's handsome face sleeping.

“I'm going to sleep, my body is very tired.” Afifah walked towards a sofa that had been turned into a soft bed, he sat down and opened his bag, looking at his cell phone and Nathan's. There were a lot of calls and messages on the man's phone, he looked at the wallpare and the theme of his photo.

“When did he steal my photo?” Afifah smiled and spread out his body, putting the phone on the table next to the sofa.

“I should have injected a formula into myself but it was very painful.” Afifah rubbed his arm and fell asleep.

The sun again shines on the earth with a soft light that warms the morning, drying out the dew turning it into a gas in the process of evaporation. Nathan opened his eyes slowly and saw a woman curled up on the sofa without any cloth covering her.

The stubborn man immediately got off the bed with pain and dragged the impus pole, walking closer to his lover, Nathan rubbed his head covered in hijab.

“I'm sorry.” Nathan touched Afifah's cold and tender cheeks, those beautiful eyes slowly opening.

“Nathan, what are you doing, go back to bed!” Afifah sat down and saw the gauze covering the naked body bleeding.

Afifah immediately averted his eyes, Nathan's body looks very sexy with the muscles are burly and well-groomed, the arms are hard, very beautiful form of a man who is very coveted by women, so tempting.

“You slept too far away from me.” Nathan looked at Afifah's reddened face.

“Foolish man, get back to bed!” Afifahs get off the couch.

“Afifah, do you hate myself?” Nathan held Afifah's hand.

“Why do I hate you?” Afifah took Nathan's hand off and walked towards the bathroom leaving the man sitting on the sofa.

“Because I'm a bad guy.” Nathan muttered to himself seeing Afifah who did not listen to his voice.

The woman came out of the bathroom with a fresh face and a beautiful smile sitting next to Nathan who was gawking, she felt Afifah more beautiful every day.

“Why are you stubborn, go back to bed and don't move much.” Afifah held Nathan's hand and took him back to bed.

“You didn't leave me?” Nathan stared intently at Afifa.

“I am not that bad leaving a man who is injured, animals alone I will treat let alone a human.” Afifah smile.

“Thanks.” Nathan smiled.

“You forced myself to continue to be by your side.” Afifah smile.

“Can you give me my phone?” Nathan kept staring at Afifah.

“I'll take your phone.” Afifah walked towards the sofa picking up Nathan's phone lying on the table and returned to the man who kept staring at him.

“Hmm.” Afifah smiles handing over the phone and Nathan accepts.

“Where are you going?” Nathan looked at Afifah who was walking towards the Sofa.

‘I want to sit on the sofa.” Afifah smile.

“Are you hungry?” ask Nathan.

“Do sick men have to think of this healthy woman? I'll buy breakfast in the hospital canteen.” Afifah walked towards the door.

“No, you will get lost.” Nathan kept staring at Afifah.

“I won't get lost, you've treated myself.” Afifah smiled and walked out of Nathan's room.

“Afifah.” Nathan shouted, he felt pain in his stomach.

“Ah, she will definitely be back.” Nathan tried not to worry, he could do nothing.

“I have to contact Roy.” Nathan's looking for Roy's contact who's directly connected.

Afifah walked to the cafeteria, he had asked the nurse several times and everyone he met so he could get to the cafeteria.

“At last I got to.” Afifah walked to the storefront which was composed of many food choices.

“Excuse me Miss, can I order warm chocolate milk?” Afifah smiled beautifully at the waitress.

“Of course, wait a minute.” The waiter immediately made an order of Afifah.

“Thanks.” Afifih sat in the chair waiting for his chocolate milk.

“Excuse me Miss, this is your milk.” The waiter put milk on the table.

“Thanks.” Afifah smiled at the waiter who left him to enjoy the warm chocolate milk.

“Excuse me Miss, can I sit here?” The handsome man smiled at Afifah.

“Of course, please.” Afifah smile.

“Thanks.” A handsome man sat in front of Afifah.

“Do you only drink chocolate milk?” ask the man.

“I want to eat rice but feel no taste.” Afifah smile.

“You must eat to maintain your health.” The stranger smiled.

“Thanks, this bread is quite large and contains carbohydrates.” Afifa smiled and ate bread with milk.

“You still keep funny.” The man looked at Afifah.

“Do we know each other?” ask Afifah.

“You definitely don't remember me but I never forget you.” The man smiled, he knew with Afifa's disease.

“I'm sorry.” Afifah looks sad.

“It's okay, I know you're sick.” Smiling man.

“I've recovered, you can say your name, I definitely remember.” Afifah smiled excitedly.

“Really?” The man looks happy.

“Yes, Nathan treated myself.” Afifah smiled beautifully.

Hearing Nathan's name made the man not mention his name, Afifah's innocent look as if piercing his heart. The woman had no idea how cruel the man who was now lying on the bed was. Cold-blooded men kill without mercy and make the dead a very profitable business field.

“Why are you silent?” Afifiah looked at the man in front of him.

‘Nothing, we will get acquainted from the beginning, let's just say this is our first meeting.” The man smiled.

“Alright, Afifah.” Afifah extended his hand.

“Pedro.” The man gave a different name than his real name.

“Happy to meet you.” Afifah smiled sincerely.

“I too, hopefully we can be friends like we used to be.” Pedro smile.

“Ya.” Afifah smile.

Afifah's cell phone rang from inside the bag lying on the table, he immediately picked up the phone and received a call from the man who kept watching him.

“Assalamualaikum.” Afifah answered the call with his soft voice.

“Where are you?” Nathan did not answer the Afifa greeting.

“I'm still in the canteen.” Afifah took a sip of his chocolate milk.

“Come back, I've ordered breakfast from restaurant.” Nathan was worried Afifah would get lost.

“What are you going to go?” ask Pedro.

“Yes, Nathan has ordered breakfast, maybe he's hungry too.” Afifah smiled and walked over to the cashier to pay for his food and drinks with the call still connected.

“Can I ask for your mobile number?” Pedro pulled the Afifah bag.

“Of course.” Afifah took a piece of paper and wrote down 2 of his cell phone numbers.

“You have two numbers?” Pedro took the paper from Afifah's hand.

“One old number and another one bought Nathan, I feel your face is not unfamiliar, so I give you both my number, maybe you can send me something that can remind me of the past.” Afifah smile.

“Of course.” Pedro saw Afifah waving his hands up.

“Why do you have to be on Nathan's side? Has that man fallen in love with you? You will never be able to escape from her.” Pedro sat down on the chair and ordered a cup of hot coffee.

Afifah walked out of the canteen and stopped at the junction of the corridor that looked the same, he did not know which way to get to the canteen he kept asking everyone, he did not know the name of Nathan's room because he did not read it.

“Why am I so careless?” Afifah sat down on the chair and picked up the cell phone, he called Nathan.

“Afifah, why haven't you returned?” Nathan begins to worry, knowing Afifah did not inject the formula because of his aching arm.

“I don't know the way back to your room.” The voice of Afifah sounded soft.

“Where are you?” ask Nathan.

“At the junction of the front corridor of the canteen.” Afifa.

“Please wait there, don't move, I'll pick you up.” Nathan's voice sounded worried.

“No need, just say the name of your room someone will help me.” Afifah smiled seeing Pedro standing in front of him.

“Executive Room.” Nathan won't be able to walk that far to pick up Afifah but he will do it if the woman really can't go back to her room.

“Alright, I'll be right back.” Afifah decides on the call.

“Why are you sitting here?” ask Pedro.

“I don't know my way home.” Afifah smiled, the sentence reminded Pedro the first time they met.

“I'll take you.” Pedro smiled, the woman was unchanging, always sweet and adorable.

“Thank you, please take me to the Executive room.” Afifah smile.

“Come road.” Pedro smiled, he returned to reminiscing with Afifa, even though the woman had forgotten him.

“Is this the room?” Pedro smiled at Afifah.

“Ya, thanks.” Afifah smiled beautifully.

“Come.” Pedro smile.

“Do not want to come in and get acquainted with Nathan.” Afifah looked at Pedro.

“No, I have to get back to work.” Pedro smile.

“Alright, thank you for your help and forgive me for inconveniencing.” Afifah.

“It's okay, see you again.” Pedro smiled, leaving Afifah who opened the door and entered into Nathan's room which looked like an apartment.

“Why are you so long?” Nathan looked at Afifah.

“Old, just ten minutes.” Afifah smiled and walked over to Nathan.

“Ten minutes felt ten years.” Nathan sat down and looked at the food on the table.

“You're overrated and good at combing.” Afifah laughs.

“Eat!” Nathan looked at Afifah.

“What is this?” Afifah walked towards the sofa, there was plenty of food on the table and paperbags on the floor.

“That's all your needs while in the hospital, change of clothes, towels, blankets and more, say if there is still less.” Nathan smiled.

“How do you do all this from bed?” Afifah smiled, he saw the contents of the paper bag.

“I have many assistants and confidants.” Nathan smiled with satisfaction.

“Do you eat?” ask Afifah without seeing Nathan.

“I'm starving waiting for you.” Nathan looked at the porridge lying on his desk.

“Ah, forgive me, I will feed you.” Afifah again approached Nathan and picked up the porridge.

Nathan continues to watch Afifah who he dirinya painstakingly, he smiles happily get the attention of the woman he loves. One bowl of porridge had been exhausted, Afifah gave a drink and medicine to Nathan.

“Rest, so you get well soon.” Afifah helped Nathan lie down.

“Who is the man who talks to the dirim in the canteen?” ask Nathan.

“A person I don't know.” Afifah smile.

“If you don't know him why did you give me your mobile number?” Nathan stared intently at Afifa.

“How do you know?” Afifah furrowed his brows.

“You do not turn off your phone and directly save it.” Nathan glares.

“Alright, forgive me, I'm so hungry.” Afifah smiled spoiled.

“Eat!” Nathan smiled.

“Yes, I I'll eat now.” Afifah walked towards the wastapel to wash his hands and table with food neatly wrapped from the restaurant.

Afifah enjoys breakfast alone and does not escape Nathan's gaze but he does not care about the man until he is done.

“Afifah, someone will take the file from your room.” Nathan glanced at Afifah who again washed his hands.

“Do it according to your orders.” Afifah smiled, he tidied up all the bagpaper and put it in the closet.

“I will do my best for you to meet your family and we get married soon.” Nathan smiled.

“You need quite a long time to heal.” Afifah smile.

“Roy will send formula for myself.” Nathan smiled.

“Do you have many great formulas?” Afifah.

“I have a laboratory and many chemist staff gathered.” Nathan smiled.

“Can I join?” ask Afifah.

“Do you like chemistry field?” Nathan looked at Afifah.

“I like it, I always hope to create a formula that is very useful for many people.” Afifah smiled beautifully.

“Have you ever learned?” nathan asked curiously.

“I didn't have a chance, I just taught myself.” Afifah looks sad.

“I'll teach you.” Nathan smiled.

“Really?” Afifah looked happy, he grabbed Nathan's hand unconsciously.

“Ya.” Nathan smiled at Afifah who was holding his hand.

“I'll change clothes.” Afifah released his grip and walked towards the bathroom with a paper bag containing a robe and hijab.

“I'll give you everything you asked for.” Nathan smiled at Afifah.

“A very difficult life confining yourself in the village is very inappropriate.” Nathan clenched his hand.

The man closed his eyes, hoping that happiness for himself and Afifa would soon be achieved, he wanted to have a family with the woman he loved.
