Episode 5 - Spying

The wind gently whirred, Ryu was now placed in the empty pavilion belonging to king Wen Lei. As usual, he was staring out the window. She was given a comfortable place as Hu Yazhu's future wife. He clenched his mouth while exhaling a long breath through his nose, in his heart was stored such a deep sadness. Doesn't seeing the person he cares about get hurt but can't do anything hurt.

The knocking sounded from outside the room. Ryu immediately got up from his seat then opened the door wide. He was faced with a young girl who he said would help him do anything, you could say that the one who came was a ladyboy. A plain-faced dayang with two back hair braids. Ryu smiled at the girl, ever since he changed the storyline of his own life there were many things that changed as well. Like this, he used to not see this girl coming as his servant. Now, however, he came and was ready to serve Ryu.

"Is it commander Hu Yazhu who asked you to look after me?"

The waiter nodded slowly. "No, but concubine Fan Hai."

Things like this will no longer be thought of by Ryu, because he thinks anyone related to the demon concubine is nothing wrong. The average person is all troubled people. Like bandits, fraudsters or traitors. So, it was certain that the girl in front of him was a spy. With Ryu's status as Hu Yazhu's future wife, of course, the two stepmothers will not stay silent.

"All right in!" Ryu precedes the girl to enter her room.

The woman sat on a dressing chair, she crossed her legs and stared flat at the maid. "Look! I'm not a person who likes to beat around the bush. So, I'm gonna tell you one thing. If you come here as my servant and are willing to obey all my orders, I will guarantee your life. Even anything I would do to protect you and your family! But, if you come as a spy and want to find information about this Japanese girl. I'll make you regret it! You know exactly who my future husband is."

The servant girl immediately nodded. "Uh, uh Miss Ryu please protect me. I'm not used to cheating. But right, I was honestly asked to spy on you and find out more about you."

Ryu grinned. "Thank you for your honesty. Just say that the Japanese descendant Ryu Ito does not know anything about the culture of his country especially about the kingdom of Wen!"

"I gave you that information for free. So go, tell them I already have another servant that Hu Yazhu will provide!"

Ryu was sure, the girl was not as innocent as she looked. He nodded then left Ryu. But before that, he greeted her by holding her knee. "All right, I'll say goodbye first. Thanks Miss!"

Ryu nodded. He closed the door again and sat by the window. On the outside he saw Hu Yazhu with his men had just returned from nowhere.

"Commander, isn't that your future wife? How can there be such a beautiful woman? He's Japanese, right?"

Hu Yazhu who had been focused on riding a horse had now stopped his race. He looked towards the open window. A gentle wind struck the flower that blocked his view. As his eyes focused on someone there, Hu Yazhu stared at Ryu looking to the right and left enjoying the view of the Palace. However, why did his eyes shine a light of sorrow for Hu Yazhu. "Is he sad?" mumbling slowly.

"Commander, you must be thinking about Miss Ryu right? Hurry up and meet him!"

"Enough! I don't have time for that. Let's go to the training ground!"

"Hhhh!" Hu Yazhu spurred on his horse without paying any heed to Ryu. He did not care much about the girl, all he cared about was the safety and health of king Wen who was getting worse and worse.

Ryu grunted softly. "How boring in the palace. I have to go to the palace kitchen and see if the cook is still pouring poison into the king Wen Lei's food or not."

Ryu walked while lifting the traditional clothes that reached the ground. The girl went straight to the kitchen of the palace which she already knew was located. Ryu walked quickly like a wheel, the woman wanted to see for herself how the cooking process took place. Upon entering the royal kitchen the woman was greeted with a warm smile by the palace cooks. "Well beautiful. Miss who?"

Someone patted the woman. "Hey, you don't know? She's the future wife of a warlord. Isn't that so Miss?"

"It's fitting that your face is so beautiful Miss, Hu Yazhu is really lucky" said one of the other women.

"Are you not of Japanese descent?" The geeky cook looks like he underestimated Ryu just because he is of Japanese descent.

"really? Doesn't it seem that the kingdom clearly has a rule not to marry someone from another country?"

"Yes, but somehow Hu Yazhu's specialty is allowed" replied the curated cook.

Ryu smiled then he decided to come out of the royal kitchen and would come again another time. Now he has to get ready for his welcome tonight. Ryu still had to look for Hu Yazhu and ask her to find another servant that was not sent by Consort Fan Hai. Now the girl walked to the back area of the Palace where the soldiers were practicing archery and horse riding. Ryu stood on the outskirts of the training field. The girl looked at Hu Yazhu from afar, the man who was racing her horse. He stared at the man for a while until he was unaware that Hu Yazhu was already approaching towards him.

[Horse Voice]

Ryu was shocked when Hu Yazhu's horse and the owner were already right in front of him. He saluted Hu Yazhu, and the warlord nodded.

"What's Miss Ryu doing?"

"Hu Yazhu can you come down for a minute?" Ryu leaned his body then lowered his voice like a whisper.

Hu Yazhu got off her horse and stood straight in front of Ryu, the woman immediately approached and whispered something to Hu Yazhu. "May I ask the servant I chose myself?"

"You want a waiter?"

Ryu nodded, back then as he became a servant in this Palace, he met two kind and close servants named Han Shu and Han Yu they were both twins. So, Ryu wanted to make them his servants now.

"Just tell me which one, I'll ask for it to Eunuch's head. But hasn't Consort Fan Hai already sent a servant for you? I heard it from Jia earlier. He said it was because his mother cared so much about my future wife so he sent the waiter."

"Ah that is yes, this is Hu Yazhu. You know I'm a shaman? So, I had a bad feeling about the waiter just now so I turned him down." Ryu grinned but for a moment he realized that the twins would only come when there was a rebellion in the West, and that had not happened for now.

"Commander! I didn't ask for a waiter! I'll pick it later. For now you can ask the waiter who came to the room to help me prepare for tonight's event! Thanks, see you!" ryu's strange demeanor left Hu Yazhu confused until he furrowed his brows when he saw the girl suddenly just waltzing away leaving him.

After asking the waiter to come back now Ryu is preparing and dressing up to be helped by the maidservant consort Fan Hai. "Miss, it's done."

Ryu looked at himself in the mirror. The flapping of the hair back with a pretty ornament on her head made her even more attractive. Not long after Hu Yazhu's voice sounded from outside the room. "Miss Ryu, let's go with me."

Ryu immediately walked to meet Hu Yazhu. She opened the door and showed off her beautiful look tonight. Hu Yazhu looked at him for a while then turned her face away. The moment after Ryu and Hu Yazhu left, the maid smirked. "You're going to be expelled today!" muttered the woman.
