Episode 4 - Wen Palace

"I heard that Hu Yazhu's future wife will be taken to the Palace tomorrow!" said a servant who was combing a girl's hair.

"Wife candidate? No way! Hu Yazhu was not close to any woman, how could he suddenly introduce a future wife and bring her to the kingdom? That's impossible!" The girl turned around and looked at her servant.

"I heard that rumor from the ladies in the main Palace, Miss."

The girl grabbed the comb that was being held by her servant and smacked the comb right into the servant's face. "If you lie and this information is wrong, I'll chop off your head!" he got up from there and walked out of the room.

The woman went straight to the main kingdom to meet her mother there. In layered noble clothes she walked gracefully as people looked at her. However, he was not as calm as that look, hearing Hu Yazhu would bring his future wife to the Palace made the girl wrathful. He had long harbored his feelings for the warlord but, would it end like this? Nah! He won't stay silent.

"Mother!" He cried to the mother.

"What's the matter, baby?"

"Mother must have heard, right about Hu Yazhu bringing his future wife to the Palace?"

"Um, yes of course. He asked my permission and your father brought the girl here."

"WHAT? Mommy allowed him to take the girl? Nah! Mommy should have stopped him! What about your plan to marry me to Yazhu? I'm mad at you, how could you do that to me!"

"Wen Jia's! Calm yourself for a moment, you can still get Hu Yazhu's heart after all the girl is just his future wife. We can still act." her mother's sneer made Jia a little calm. Fan Hai would definitely devise another plan for his beloved daughter to get what she wanted. He is not a person who gives up easily.

On the other hand, Ryu was packing his clothes. While waiting for Hu Yazhu to come he sat in the tavern with his grandfather and Akira. "Sir, take care of yourself there! I don't want you to get hurt or anything!"

"You should take good care of yourself. You know what the best brother is when it comes to hitting? See these muscles? I will definitely not be easily defeated!" Ryu smirked revealing his teeth and one protruding tooth.

"Take good grandfather, don't let him get tired. Remind him to eat and rest!" Ryu endured the sadness that was in his heart. Grandpa Asahi laughed a little.

"You think I'm a kid, huh?" he said with a big smile.

The sound of a horse was heard from far away, Ryu immediately stood up and turned his head towards the direction the sound was coming from. With red noble clothes also with a traditional hat accent rope tied around his head. Hu Yazhu looked handsome in that official suit, he got off the horse and greeted Asahi's grandfather. Then, the man turned his head towards Ryu who was already preparing. "Let's go to the kingdom!"

"Wait on! Where's the horse for me?"

"Horses? It's!" Yazhu patted the back of her horse. Ryu furrowed his brows, he was a bit hesitant to ride with Hu Yazhu with the horse.

"You.. Sure?"

Hu Yazhu nodded. "Sure!"

He mounted his horse first, then extended his hand to Ryu so that the woman could ride easily. Ryu grabbed Hu Yazhu's soft hand, even though it had already shed a lot of enemy blood why was it still that soft? Ryu's mind was unfocused as he huddled with Hu Yazhu on the horse, not to mention that he was staring at his face which was only a few distances away from him.

"Bah brother!" Akira waved his hand, while Asahi's grandfather smiled as he held his wand in his right hand.

"Bye bye!" ryu replied as he waved his hand.

Ryu and Hu Yazhu did not say much during the long journey. They just focus on the road ahead of them. "How long have you been a shaman?"

The silence was broken by Hu Yazhu, Ryu nervously answered the man's question with a wave. "Um, eight years" he answered.

Ryu turned his gaze forward, they passed through the beautiful flower beds around him filled with brightly colored butterflies. "What a beauty, I just saw a sight like this." Ryu was amazed to see the beautiful scenery before his eyes.

"You never leave the house?"

"I was sick for so many years that I rarely went out of the house. Asahi's grandfather used to forbid me from going away from the store, I think he's very worried."

Hu Yazhu nodded. "I understand" he said.

Arriving at the kingdom, Hu Yazhu helped Ryu get off his horse. Ryu's achy legs made him tingle a little so that he lost his balance and even fell into Hu Yazhu's arms. "Sorry commander!"

This is not the time for melow-drama scenes, Ryu shook his head slowly. He must awaken if he goes to this palace to avenge his mother and sister. They walked hand in hand to be greeted by the Palace guards well and directly directed to the royal hall. Where there is already King Wen Lei, Consort Fan Hai, also Princess Jia and some other royal officials.

Hu Yazhu turned his head towards Ryu, making sure the woman was comfortable. It was he who asked Ryu to the Palace so as per his promise, he had to make Ryu comfortable and safe in Wen Palace. They set foot after the eunuch Oh beckoned to the king.

The two stepped in then saluted the royal family. Shaking Ryu's body saw his stepmother and step-sister, let alone the father whose condition was truly apprehensive. The thin body was due to the poison she consumed every day, Ryu's next mission was to make the king stop consuming the poison given by Consort Fan Hai. However, Ryu should not be rash, everyone in the Palace is a group of sycophants as well as sneaks.

"Welcome!" king Wen Lei said.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, she's my future wife Ryu Ito. He's Japanese."

The four eyes widened and stared at each other. Their shock about Ryu's identity made them grin happily.

"Welcome Ryu, we will make a special occasion of your welcome. This is my gratitude to you for being the wife of our greatest warlord." King Wen smiled warmly.

Ryu now stood up straight alongside Hu Yazhu, he smiled and nodded. He almost felt emotional from seeing his father. His tears almost trickled down as he paid his respects to the king earlier.

"I'm also very happy to welcome you, Ryu." Said concubine Fan Hai.

Ryu smirked while bowed. "You'll get your fucking reply soon!" inner Ryu.
