Chapter 9. Loving Nature

That day, Jaka Someh was in the middle of the forest looking for firewood, suddenly heard a noise from the west of the forest. He was astonished by the noise. Jaka Someh tried to find out about it. He climbed up a tree to investigate. From the top of a tall tree, Jaka someh saw many panicked animals running around. He saw many birds flying indeterminate directions, monkeys also scattered, jumping to and fro. They panic because the forest where they live is experiencing a severe fire.

Jaka Someh was curious how the forest could burn. By following his instinct he jumped from one tree branch to another tree to look for the origin of the fire that burned the forest. Jaka Someh was shocked when he saw some men burning some trees. Apparently they are the ones who caused the forest to experience severe fires.

Jaka Someh was astonished by their actions, which could burn the forest blindly. Do they not think that the act of torture has damaged the sustainability of the forest and all its contents. Though many creatures that depend on the sustainability of the forest, including humans.

Jaka Someh approached them, then jumped off the top of a tree landing seamlessly on the ground. He also walked closer to them. Jaka Someh said to them,

“Excuse me Akang, Mamang, what are you guys doing? why are you all burning this forest, ?”.

The residents who had just realized the arrival of Jaka Someh suddenly became aghast. They observed Jaka Someh closely from the tip of the foot to the tip of the head. In their hearts, they wondered whether Jaka Someh was a human like them or a demon who inhabited this forest,

“Who are you, ?”

Said one of them a little nervously.

Jaka Someh replied,

“Punteun Kang I Jaka Someh, I live on the slopes of this mountain Halimun, Please why do I burn this forest? What is this forest wrong to all?”.

Hearing Jaka Someh speak politely, they began to believe that Jaka Someh was indeed an ordinary human like them. They answered Jaka someh's question,

“we want to open land for plantations oruh ujang !!!”.

Hearing the answers of the residents, Jaka Someh felt annoyed at the reason they had the heart to burn the forest,

“Maap or Kang, if you want to open a garden land why should you burn sagala forest oruh? Is it not enough to cut down trees as necessary? if in this way, all our forests could be lost all oruh kang, punten kang, punten kang,  do you not know that the actions of all this have damaged the preservation of nature  ? “.

Hearing the words of Jaka Someh who was considered patronizing, they became offended. One of them immediately scorned Jaka Someh.

”Aeh you are pretentious, a lot of bacots, just yesterday afternoon boy was daggers, cool ass basic snot boy, do you not know? this tea is the fastest and easiest way to open plantation land, if the forest is exhausted because of burning, yes it is good! indeed that is our goal, no need to bother to spend energy cutting down trees, let alone trees as big as that, waste time and energy, just waste, do not interfere in our affairs, now you go there! make emotions only “.

Jaka Someh felt compelled to hear the man's rude words. When Jaka someh wanted to chim in the man's words, suddenly there were other residents who joined in ridiculing Jaka Someh, he said,

“Already, already you do not interfere in our affairs, go there ! Snotty boy just pretentious, meddle in the affairs of parents only, let's go there !”

Hearing their blasphemy and ridicule, Jaka someh was only able to remain silent. He was confused whether to leave the place or stay. Jaka Someh himself did not like the commotion, but he did not want the forest he loved to be burned down by their stupid actions.  After thinking for a while, he finally decided to stay there even though his heart felt stuck. Seeing that Jaka someh was unwilling to leave, one of them became very emotional. Without saying much, he immediately raised his fist towards Jaka Someh. Prak, the blow hit Jaka Someh's face. Jaka Someh was surprised not to be upset because he did not expect to be hit by the man. He looked sharply at the man who hit him while saying,

“Akang, why did I hit me ?”

Jaka Someh said in his heart,

“Hah, I koq do not feel pain, is this the influence of the exercises I have been doing so far, my body so strong this way, hehehe “

Seeing his friend in pain after hitting Jaka someh, other residents became provoked emotions.  They immediately attacked Jaka Someh together. One of them immediately swung a machete towards Jaka someh. But because it was ready, Jaka Someh immediately brushed the man's wrist with his left hand, while his right hand immediately pushed the man's chest.

Although it looked slow, but the person immediately slammed hard towards the back, brakkk, sprawled on the ground. Jaka someh was more surprised, it turns out his encouragement was able to knock down the person who attacked him earlier. Though in his heart there was not the slightest intention of him to tear down his opponent. Jaka Someh did not expect that he could be that strong. The other citizens who saw the ability of Jaka someh like that, immediately became the guts. They did not expect the greatness of Jaka someh. Suddenly they immediately kneeled on the ground while he asked for forgiveness to Jaka Someh,

“Not even kang, geez, we're sorry, don't kill us!  yes we will stop our deeds, now we are willing to leave this place “

Hearing their lamentations, Jaka someh actually felt funny. He did not expect that the citizens would become so afraid of him,

“Oke kang, good this time I will forgive, now everyone please leave this place!  never again dare to burn this forest again! “

They quickly left the place in fear of Jaka Someh. Jaka someh just looked at their departure. Suddenly he came to a realization, the fire was now becoming increasingly bigger. He panicked to see the fire that continued to grow, burning the forest and everything in it. The heat felt stinging on her skin. In a confused state, Jaka Someh muttered alone, saying,

“Duh wretched, how do I stop this fire?  the fire is so big, ”

Jaka Someh continues to think about how to stop the fire from spreading throughout the forest. He murmured in his heart,

“My time should be quiet without doing anything? let's think oruh Someh! Think on! how to stop this fire ?“

Suddenly he shouted to encourage himself by saying loudly,

“Man jada wa jadda !!! “

Whoever is serious about his efforts, God will give him the way of success.  Jaka Someh ran around while observing the circumstances around him. He was confused as to what to do to stop the fire. But he was determined to stop the fire that was burning burning in the forest. Suddenly he saw like there was a dried up trench. Because there was no water, the former trench was also grown many plants. After checking, it turns out the former trench extends and separates the two parts of the forest. Without thinking anymore, Jaka Someh immediately cut down the trees in the trench. The goal is to empty the trench of the plant. So that the trench can return to be a channel of water that will be flowed from the top of the mountain. He hoped that this would save most of the forest. After successfully cutting down the trees in the trench channel, Jaka Someh began digging the ground to start connecting the springs to the trench channel that he had cleaned earlier.

Maybe because pressed by circumstances, his movements became so fast and swift. A few moments later the channel was connected to the spring. Water immediately filled the channels he had just made. Soon the fire reached the area. Thankfully, the ditches were filled with water.

Jaka Someh was grateful that the fire stopped at the boundary of the trench. The fire was completely unable to touch the forest across the channel. Over time the fire shrank and eventually extinguished itself. Only white smoke that clumped filled the air around the place.

Seeing that the fire had been extinguished, Jaka Someh felt very satisfied. Satisfied because his efforts have succeeded.  He sat down, his breathing was dull with sweat pouring all over his body. Jaka someh felt unusually tired because his energy had been drained. Suddenly his head became dizzy. He almost fainted from being too tired to stop the fire. Jaka someh then laid his body on the ground to release the tiredness that had reached the limit of his ability.
