Chapters 27. Simple Man.

Dewi Sekar had been unconscious for three days and three nights. On the third day he was dead. His eyes opened slowly, aware that he was in a room in a medium-sized log cabin. He suddenly felt a warm sensation all over his body, after being observed it turned out that almost his entire body had been brushed by a medicinal herb. Jaka Someh lied to Dewi Sekar that he found Dewi Sekar lying unconscious in his vegetable garden, when in fact Jaka Someh was the one who helped him from the cruel Nyi Sundel. Dewi Sekar said slowly to Jaka someh,

“Akang who is ?”.

Hearing the slow and weak voice of Dewi Sekar, Jaka Someh smiled, then he introduced himself, saying,

“Name akang teh Jaka Someh Nyai, or Nyai can also call akang by the name of Kang Someh, Akang teh here living alone, and,  incidentally, I was a farmer who was working on land on this hill, oh yes Nyai who tea? Why did it get to this hill in a fainting state?”

Dewi Sekar just nodded his head slowly, then he introduced himself to Jaka Someh who had helped him, he said,

“My name is Dewi sekar fragrant, but I can call me Sekar “

Jaka Someh smiled hearing Dewi Sekar introduce himself, nodding his head.

After that they were silent to each other, even though their minds were raging with questions. Seeing Jaka Someh speechless, Dewi Sekar took the initiative to start the conversation, he told about his fight with nyi sundel. He told me in a quiet voice and stopped a lot. Actually in his heart he felt astonished, why is still alive when it was nyi sundel so eager to kill him. Dewi Sekar remembers when she was defeated by Nyi Sundel and almost died, then tortured until finally she fainted and was unconscious.  In his heart he suspected that maybe Jaka Someh had helped him from Nyi Sundel.

But seeing the appearance of Jaka Someh who is simple and far from the figure of a swordsman appearance, his suspicion was he tepis. It was impossible for Jaka someh who was only a farmer to be able to defeat the great Nyi Sundel. Then who has saved him from Nyi Sundel, is it true that Jaka Someh only found himself in a state of fainting? Being unable to answer the various questions that were raging in his mind, Dewi Sekar closed his eyes and tried to throw away everything that could interfere with his mind. Sighing Goddess Sekar opened her eyes again. Jaka Someh just smiled a little to see Dewi Sekar who looked like a confused person.

Jaka someh said softly to Dewi Sekar,

“Nyai to quickly recover his health, now eat first! this akang has made porridge for nyai, eaten yes ! “.

Because the condition of the body of Dewi Sekar is still weak, Jaka Someh makes porridge and tries to feed it. Initially Dewi Sekar refused to be bribed, but Jaka someh still forced, finally Dewi Sekar was forced to obey Jaka Someh. With painstakingly Jaka Someh feeds Dewi Sekar.

For a while Dewi Sekar remained patient in staying at the cottage of Jaka Someh, although his heart was already restless thinking about the fate of his family who may now be in danger.

Dewi Sekar secretly pays attention to the activities of Jaka Someh in everyday life. He was amazed and amazed by Jaka someh who was orderly in worship. He never left the five prayers. Dewi Sekar Harum felt at home living in the cottage of Jaka Someh. Although simple, yet very beautiful and clean. There were flower gardens around the cottage.

In addition to the building of the house there is also a bathing place made of large mountain stones that have been carved in such a way that it forms a water reservoir that has a funnel forming a water shower.  The baths are inside semi-permanent buildings of bamboo trees. The roof is made of dried coconut leaves. While the water comes from the springs at the top of the hill. Clear and refreshing. In addition to the bathhouse there is also a toilet building. The closet is a squat closet made of natural stone carved in such a way then connected with a septitank located a few meters from the toilet. Dewi Sekar fragrant felt amazed by all of it.

In some parts of the spacious courtyard there are flower gardens that spread natural fragrance. The flowers look beautiful and charming. There are jasmine, cempaka, roses, orchids and others. Making Dewi Sekar increasingly feel at home living in that place.

Not far from the cottage, there is also a furnace of stone smelters to make metal raw materials. Jaka someh turned out to make his own various equipment such as machetes, hoes, pans and various other equipment made of metal.

Dewi Sekar also felt astonished and amazed when he saw a loom that was not far from the cottage. It turns out that Jaka Someh was also a weaver. There are some ready-made clothes. Although the shape is simple, but the stitches look quite neat. Jaka Someh made it himself after successfully weaving cotton into bundles of yarn to simple fabrics.

Around the loom, there are still some cotton sacks that are still intact. Although some of it has turned into twine.

Dewi Sekar smiled at Jaka Someh's reply like that, then he continued his words again,

"This is how kang someh, not that I do not feel at home living here but because of something important, I must immediately go home to Sumedang today, too,  to help Rama I will fight Ki Jabrik and his men".

Jaka Someh was surprised to hear that Dewi Sekar will soon leave with a health condition that is still recovering. Jaka someh said to Dewi Sekar,

"waduh Nyai, why so rushed?  nyai Tea's wounds have not healed one hundred percent, wait another few days! let the wound heal first, ".

Hearing the words of Jaka Someh who tried to block his departure because of worry about his condition, Dewi Sekar tried to explain back the reason, because,

Hearing the explanation of Dewi Sekar like that, Jaka Someh was no longer able to resist the intention of Dewi Sekar to leave, he understood the state of Dewi Sekar who worried about his family.  Despite this, Jaka Someh still tried to prevent Dewi Sekar from leaving at that time,

“Akang understands Nyai's worries, but Nyai is patient first!  please wait until you heal first! maybe two or three more days, let me help prepare a vehicle for Nyai “

Hearing the good intentions of Jaka Someh who wants to prepare a vehicle for her, Dewi Sekar tries to reject her, she does not want to bother anymore, Dewi Sekar said to Jaka Someh, who was not involved in the project,

“No need to kang! don't bother me anymore, let me just walk, I will leave today also “

Jaka Someh insisted on holding Dewi Sekar to go home that day,

“Waduh can't Nyai!  his condition of tea has not healed properly, the path is still not solid, still staggering so, yes it is like this, If indeed Nyai still forced, tomorrow only yes! later I will interven, today I will also prepare a vehicle “

Dewi Sekar is still trying to reject it, but because Jaka Someh also insisted, finally Dewi Sekar leluh with the sincere intention of Jaka someh who wanted to help him, Dewi Sekar said to Jaka Someh,

Jaka Someh smiled at the words of Dewi Sekar who had begun to melt, then he said to Dewi Sekar, who was not happy,

“Ya is not troublesome oruh Nyai, this is indeed the duty of fellow human beings, it also happens to be living alone and happy if taken for a walk, hehehe“

Dewi Sekar smiled by showing off her dimples to Jaka Someh. Dada Jaka someh suddenly became dag dig dug not care. For a moment he was stunned to see the beautiful smile of Goddess Sekar who charmed him. After waking up, Jaka Someh immediately looked away to avoid the gaze with Dewi Sekar. There was a strange feeling that ruled him at that moment.
