Chapter 6. Be Grateful No Rattan Root was So.

When passing through a river with many stones, Jaka Someh decided to rest for a while in that place. He was sitting on a large rock by the river. Suddenly he remembered his provisions that had not been eaten. Jaka Someh also immediately opened the provisions, then greedily ate the provisions

until full. Finished eating, he threw himself on the big rock earlier, looking towards the sky that was about to twilight. Suddenly he remembered Mr. Rohadi. In his heart he spoke,

” Ah yes, I have forgotten, have not said goodbye to Mr. Rohadi, not good too, he has been so good to me, mending me now to his house just to say goodbye “

Jaka Someh then came down from the boulder and walked towards the village. It did not take long, he had arrived at the courtyard of Mr. Rohadi's house. Jaka Someh then uttered a greeting, which was immediately warmly countered by his host.

After being invited to enter, Jaka Someh went into Mr. Rohadi's house. At that time, there were guests. A very old grandfather in black clothes.  Mr. Rohadi then introduced Jaka Someh to his guest.

“Eh jang someh, this is Aki Sudin, he is from Cinangka village, happened to be Aki sudin there is a need

in the village of Cikaret, so he stopped by the father's house, Punteun Aki's Jang someh his son Sabarudin ”.

Jaka someh also shakes hands with the sudin battery,

“Kumaha Damang battery ?”

Jaka someh said.  Aki Sudin answered Salam from Jaka Someh. He smiled warmly showing off his tooth that was toothless,

“Alhamdulillah casep, Aki healthy, euleuuhh you tea his son Jang Sabarudin huh? Now he is a young man like this . Kumaha healthy tea ?”

While still smiling, Jaka someh answered aki sudin, saying,

“Alhamdulillah Aki, I'm healthy “

After that they also sat back on the bale-bale of Mr. Rohadi's house. Rohadi said to Jaka Someh,

” How did jang, already managed to become his student ki Jaya Kusuma?”

Jaka Someh was silent, there was doubt and shame to tell Mr. Rohadi. With a forced smile Jaka Someh shook his head. Mr. Rohadi was surprised by Jaka someh's answer, then asked jaka someh, who was,

“Hah you are not accepted as a student of Ki Jaya Kusuma?  how can you,  .? Tell me to Father !”

Because it feels bad to see the face of Mr. Rohadi who looks curious, Jaka someh then tells the bitter experience that has just been in his nature when visiting Maung Karuhun college. Hearing the story of Jaka Someh, Mr. Rohadi felt astonished and empathetic.

In his heart he felt doubt whether Ki Jaya Kusuma really refused Jaka Someh. Mr. Rohadi has known Ki Jaya Kusuma for a long time and knows his good personality.  Ki Jaya Kusuma is a swordsman who has good ethics. Of course it is strange that he refused Jaka Someh who wanted to study at his college. Seeing the sad face of Jaka Someh, Mr. Rohadi tried to comfort Jaka Someh,

“ya already jang, you just be patient, maybe it is not your soul mate to study there, you do not have to worry!  there are still many silat colleges in this world, Ujang can learn anywhere that you want, no need to be difficult!  the world is not as narrow as moringa leaves “

Jaka Someh said Mr. Rohadi.

Suddenly Aki Sudin asked Jaka Someh,

“Indeed, did you want to study silat at which college? “.

Jaka Someh glanced at Aki sudin, then answered his question in a timid manner,

“Before I want to study to Ki Jaya Kusuma, Aki. But it turns out I was not accepted by him, even I was almost in the crackle there.”

Aki Sudin who heard the answer from Jaka Someh like that, just nods his head, while comforting him,

“Wah be patient or Jang, it's okay, Maybe it's not my match to study there “

Jaka Someh said Aki Sudin, saying,

“Iya aki, God willing I am still patient koq aki “

Aki Sudin said again,

“Aki know Ki Jaya Kusuma, the person is good.  Aki Surely there must be a reason she can not accept students anymore, WHAT might she currently be having problems huh ?”

Jaka Someh was curious about the words of Aki Sudin,

“How battery ?”

Aki Sudin continued his remarks again to explain about Ki Jaya Kusuma, the,

Aki Sudin stopped his story, sighing. His eyes became blank as if he was recalling his past memories. The mood became quiet.

Aki Sudin and Jaka Someh were both surprised to hear Mr. Rohadi's words. Jaka Someh glanced at Aki Sudin who looked doubtful.  Rohadi reiterated his words,

Hearing Mr. Rohadi's explanation of the greatness of sudin battery, Jaka someh was amazed.  Aki sudin laughed at Mr. Rohadi's words, then he said to Mr. Rohadi,

Hearing the words of Aki Sudin, Mr. Rohadi understood that Aki Sudin refused to train Jaka Someh, because of his weakened physical condition. But Mr. Rohadi did not run out of sense, he said to aki sudin again,

“Begin only Aki, Aki does not need to train using physical motion, just lower the battery knowledge of silat to Jang Someh, let him practice alone, just let him practice on his own, aki enough to give instructions to jang someh, ajarin jang someh how to train silat, just like aki, how would you, if only teaching the theory?”

Aki Sudin was silent for a while, as if he was thinking, and then he said,

“ Well then, Aki agrees, itung-itung so that the science of tea battery is not lost in the swallow of the earth, Aki will teach his theory only, the theory of silat science that Aki knows, Aki, but Jang Someh has to train on his own huh !”

Mr. Rohadi seemed happy to hear the words of Aki Sudin, continued to say to Jaka Someh, he said,

” Come Jang, you kiss Aki sudin's hand first, let him be your teacher, now try to buy tobacco to Bi Cicih's shop, the stall is behind the father's house,  later I will give the tobacco to the Sudin battery as a sign that you have been accepted as a battery student, this tea is just a tradition in our village Jang, this is the only tea in our village,  well here's the money to buy the gun “.

Hearing the words of Mr. Rohadi to Jaka Someh, Aki sudin also chimed in,

Mr. Rohadi complied with Aki Sudin's request, then told Jaka someh to buy betel shade at the Bi Cicih stall. Jaka Someh obeyed Mr. Rohadi's words without refuting a word as well. After receiving money from Mr. Rohadi, Jaka Someh immediately went to the Bi Cicih stall to buy some Sirih leaves. Not long after that he had come to bring the betel leaf and directly given to Aki Sudin while kissing the hand of the sudin battery. Aki Sudin received the betel leaf happily. After washing, the leaves are put in a glass of water. Aki Sudin's mouth looks muttered because it reads DOA to curl the eyes of Jaka someh with betel leaf. Both eyes of Jaka Someh dripped water betel leaf herb. Jaka someh was silent while closing

both eyes. Suddenly his eyes ached, and shed many tears. The dirt in his eyes was too much.  His view seemed brighter and lighter.

Jaka Someh did not expect to learn silat to Aki Sudin, no rattan roots so. Not so studied at the most famous Silat College in his village, instead studying to former champions. That still makes him happy. Now he is officially a student of Aki Sudin. Aki Sudin said to Jaka Someh,

“This jang! please listen carefully! aki can only teach silat theory to ujang, this tea about the basics of silat science that aki has learned, then you can train it yourself !”

Aki Sudin then started his lesson,

“Actually learning silat that can be anywhere, even ujang can also learn to nature around us, nature is a great teacher for us, teach many things, teach many things, one of them teaches about this silat science “

Although still not understood by the words of Aki Sudin, Jaka Someh still agreed,

“Iya Aki “

Aki Sudin said again,

Then Aki Sudin also explained to the seven basics of silatnya. In addition to explaining, sudin battery also practices various ways egos, how to fend off, how to hit, and how to kick. Then Aki Sudin also taught how to install the correct horses, various footsteps in silat, and random attitude in silat. In addition to the seven principles in silatnya earlier, aki sudin added an understanding to Jaka Someh about the science of locking and how to escape from the enemy lockdown.

Last night Aki Sudin and Jaka Someh practiced silat movements, while Mr. Rohadi just went to watch. Jaka Someh absorb a lot of the lessons given by aki sudin. Maybe because he was excited and had an extraordinary interest, making him able to remember almost all the lessons from Aki Sudin.

Even the night was almost replaced by dawn. They rest while waiting for the dawn prayer time. After the dawn prayer, Jaka Someh repeated the various movements that Aki Sudin had taught him last night. Aki sudin only pay attention to it and occasionally correct the movement of Jaka Someh which he considered still not fit. The next morning they had breakfast at the Bi Cicih stall, because Mr. Rohadi did not cook on that day.

After breakfast, they returned to Mr. Rohadi's house, before finally returning to their respective homes. Before returning home, Aki Sudin advised Jaka Someh,

“Remember ya jang!  you must be diligent in training! understand all the movements that have been taught! actually, you can learn anything, including learning to the nature around you, practicing hard so that you reach perfection!  you can have a healthy and strong body!  can be agile and agile and have a harmonious movement! If you can once a month Ujang come to Aki's house in Cinangka village, I want to see the development of your training, as we discuss and practice together !“.

Jaka Someh replied to Aki Sudin,

“Iya aki, I will gladly visit the battery house once a month, thanks aki has accepted me as a student “.

Jaka someh bowed his body in honor of the sudin battery.

Aki Sudin smiled, happy to see Jaka Someh who was being polite.

Not long after that, Aki Sudin also said goodbye to Mr. Rohadi and Jaka Someh. Jaka Someh still accompanied Mr. Rohadi until noon, then after that he said goodbye to Mr. Rohadi to go home to his humble hut.

Arriving at his hut Jaka Someh immediately threw himself in the bale-bale, resting until the next morning.
