Chapter 40. A Struggle to Live.

At the bottom of the ravine, Sugandi turns out not to be dead. He only had a broken bone in his left leg, and several bruises on some parts of his limb. The tremendous pain he was suffering made him forced to lay himself down. Unable to endure the pain, she collapsed, unconscious for more than a day.

After late at night, Sugandi began to roar. He groaned in pain, his body shivering withstanding the coldness of the pitch-black night. Sugandi was only able to resign to his condition, only his eyes melted tears. It was so much suffering that he felt. Finally he fell asleep until the sun began to shine from the eastern horizon.

After waking up from his sleep, Sugandi still groaned in pain, only that his life spirit began to reappear. He wanted to stay alive and wanted to avenge himself to the citizens who had hurt him. With the remnants of his strength, he began to crawl towards a more comfortable place. Seen, nearby there is a water source, Sugandi began to crawl towards the spring to drink a few sips of water. After being satisfied to drink the water he began to crawl again looking for plants that if he could make as food. But he did not see any plants or fruits that could be made a decent meal. Finally Sugandi only ate the young leaves that were around the place. Although it tastes bad, Sugandi still eats it to restore his strength. Thus for several weeks he was only able to eat the leaves.

It was magical, after about five weeks, his body had started to recover, even his broken leg had begun to heal, although the road was still limping. With his legs still limping, Sugandi tried to trace the valley, he walked following the flow of a small river. When he reached a place, he saw a collection of rocks that were large enough, Sugandi approached the rocks and rested on a stone that was not too big. While sitting down, he observed the circumstances around the place. Right next to the towering valley wall was a cave that looked so dark. Sugandi suddenly felt curious about the cave, then he approached the cave.

When he was right at the mouth of the cave, he saw many bones scattered around him.

After careful observation, it turns out that the bones are human bones. Sugandi also found many rusty weapons scattered in the place. Sugandi thought that the bones were a group of soldiers from the past who died in that place.

Whether he is a brave man or indeed his fear has run out, Sugandi really does not feel the slightest fear of being in a place that looks haunted. Sugandi also collected some weapons that he managed to find it. There were swords, cleavers, axes, knives, spears, and cocks. Finding the various weapons made Sugandi happy, as if he had found a lot of treasure.  Using an axe and a machete, Sugandi managed to make a simple cottage out of wood. He managed to cut down and cultivate some trees around the valley. With the spear he found, Sugandi also began to learn to hunt hunted animals and fish in the river.

At first he had failed in his hunt, but over time, he had begun to be adept at using his spear to hunt game animals including fish. Without feeling like he had lived in the valley for almost a year, he was already an expert in hunting. Rarely did he fail in his hunt. His body is now healthy and strong, his movements are also so agile.

One night while he was asleep, suddenly a large python wrapped around his body. Sugandi woke up from his sleep, he was shocked because his body was already wrapped strongly by the manca. He had trouble breathing. But because his life spirit is so high he also tried to fight the snake, he did not want to give up on the snake, with a barn that is always on his waist, he said,  Sugandi managed to tear the snake's stomach until the winding becomes detached. After that, he immediately killed the snake. Even the snake finally managed to skin him. The skin is then made into clothes, after being dried to dry in the hot sun.

Once also when he was hunting fish with his spear, suddenly there was a leopard who ambushed him from behind.   Sugandi's back was injured, but with the rest of his strength, he managed to throw the tiger to the ground. Although injured, Sugandi still tried to fight the starving leopard. Highlight his eyes were also no less fierce with the eyes of a tiger who was trying to prey on him. Sugandi stared intently at the tiger. His hands are ready to hold me. When the tiger came back to hit him, Sugandi swiftly pricked his palm towards the stomach of the tiger that was drifting towards him. The stab was so deep, it made the tiger instantly droop down to the ground. The tiger died instantly. Although his back was injured by the claw of a tiger, Sugandi was still able to stand firm. He no longer cared much about his wounds. Instead he was engrossed in skinning the skin of a dead tiger. To be her daily dress.

Without feeling it has been two years now Sugandi lives in the forest valley Dadap Kulon. One night Sugandi dreams of meeting a creepy-looking grandfather asking to meet him in a dark cave not far from Sugandi's cottage. The grandfather claimed to be named the mighty Eyang Jaya.  Initially Sugandi ignored his dream. She was mistaking it as a sleeping flower. But the dream kept coming in his every sleep. Sugandi was also affected. He was curious about his dream, wanting to prove the content of his dream.

The next morning, Sugandi went to the cave in his dream.

Arriving at the mouth of the cave, Sugandi stopped and observed the circumstances around him. I don't know why he was afraid to see the cave. The cave looks very haunted.

But because of his curiosity is already great, Sugandi determined his heart to stay into the cave.

At first the cave looks dark and moist, but deeper, it turns out the cave looks brighter. Inside the cave, Sugandi saw a room that was spacious and bright because it was exposed to sunlight from the hole gap above the cave. In a dim atmosphere, Sugandi noticed the circumstances around him. He was trying to raise his guard. I was already in his grasp, worried that there would be a danger that would suddenly befall him. He saw someone sitting cross-legged in one corner of the cave. Sugandi looked intently at the figure. In his heart he asked,

“Eh whose tea is this? Humans or demons cave dwellers ?”.

The figure did not move in the slightest as well, not affected by the arrival of Sugandi. His eyes closed, almost Sugandi thought the man was a statue. But Sugandi convinced himself that it was indeed a living creature, a grandfather who was ascetic.

“Eyang Jaya Perkasa ?”

Hearing his name being called, the grandfather opened his eyes. His eyes glared bright red. He stared intently at Sugandi. Then the grandfather jumped towards Sugandi and immediately strangled him. Of course Sugandi was shocked and panicked, spontaneously he immediately stabbed his flattened towards the grandfather's body.

Sugandi became increasingly shocked, because I was unable to penetrate the grandfather's body. Even sugandi's hands became tingling after his cursing collided with the grandfather's body. Grandfather's body was very hard like a solid rock. The grandfather laughed and said to Sugandi,

“ Hahaha boy, why are you disturbing my hermitage ?”

After laughing, the grandfather slammed Sugandi's body into the cave wall. Sugandi slammed into the cave wall. He tried to get up and retaliate by attacking the grandfather, but his efforts were in vain, because the grandfather turned out to be very strong. Sugandi became the old man's moons, slammed to and fro.

Even though his body was crumbling, he did not want to give up. He continued to struggle against the grandfather despite being aware that his strength was not comparable to that of the grandfather. Sugandi's energy began to drain completely, leaving only the spirit of life that makes it still able to survive. The look on Sugandi's eyes was still sharp, staring at the grandfather. The mysterious grandfather laughed when he saw the still burning eyes of Sugandi,

“ Hahaha boy! you still have spirit apparently, now feel it ! “

After stopping laughing, the grandfather also hit Sugandi's stomach, although it looks slow, but it turns out Sugandi immediately crashed a few steps back and immediately fell down. From his mouth came fresh blood. Although his condition was critical, Sugandi still tried to fight the grandfather. He tried to hit and kick the old man with the remnants of his strength. But his efforts became futile, because the grandfather directly hit Sugandi with one fist to Sugandi's chest. Sugandi slammed back and fell. But he was still trying to get up even though his body was already staggering.

“I can't die! I have to live! can't lose to this grandfather ! “.

Sugandi tried to settle his heart.

Seeing Sugandi get back up, the grandfather suddenly laughed out loud,

“ Hahaha Boy! you have a high spirit of life, you deserve to be my student “.

Sugandi was shocked to hear the words of Eyeg Jaya Perkasa who accepted him as a student. Without a second thought, Sugandi immediately knelt down to pay his respects to eyang Jaya Perkasa, who was,

“Thank you, Eyang Guru “.
