Find Me in 1000 Years

Find Me in 1000 Years
Down

Ken crawled in the airways. The channel was longer than the one he used for training but this time he tried not to be rash. His sports shoes make noise when moving so he tries to walk carefully to minimize the sound.

After passing through a box-shaped air duct, he now passes through a pipe the same size as the air duct. After a long crawl, he met a crossroads. Ken touched the earphones in the ear. "Eh, I met the T-junction," he whispered.

"Both lead there" Devan said.

Heh .. why not just tell me which one, let me work easily, huh, Ken thought while rubbing his face violently.

"Devan, choose an easy path for him," said Irish from behind. It turns out that the woman was also monitoring Devan's work.

Devan's sorting the line one-on-one. "The one on the right. Choose the right one."

"Right huh?" The young man turned to the right. But he was surprised to meet a mouse that was as surprised as the animal jumped. "Geek!" Ken immediately shut his mouth.

Back the museum guard heard something. He returned to the top. There was the sound of mice squeaking and the sound of things falling. Then the squeaking sound moved like running to move places.

"Ah, dammit! The rat apparently." The man dressed as the security guard then moved in another direction.

Ken still closed his mouth because he heard the man's voice. Should I be grateful to meet a rat or what? He breathed a rough breath.

"Ken, why don't you move?" ask Devan. He could see the movement of the young man who stopped in front of a long pipe.

"Oh, I met a rat. My heart is still beating fast." Ken touched his chest.

Devan was laughing instead.

Irish clings to the man from the side for laughing at Ken. "Serious work!"

The man cleared his throat for a moment with a serious face before continuing. He was a little prestige, scolded by a beautiful woman who was monitoring his work. "You better keep moving, Ken."

"Yes." Yeah." Then Ken started crawling again until he met a smaller pipe passageway. The man took a breath and threw it away slowly. He entered the hallway by creeping.

True indeed, the passageway was so small that the skinny body of the young man alone could pass through. Ken, who hated such a cramped place, tried to fight fear by facing it.

Sweating, the young man passed through a long passageway until he finally found a larger airway at the intersection. "Eh, I found a crossroad."

"Just keep it up, Ken. The jewel is near" Devan said from inside the car.

The young man crawled forward. Until he found a vent beneath him that was covered in iron filter air. He peeked and saw the jewel just below him.

"Ken, you're standing right on it" Devan said.

"Yes, I've seen" whispered the young man. The problem is that the gem is surrounded by guards, not as reported. "But the jewel is guarded by soldiers."

"What?" Devan almost jumped out of his chair. "This is impossible. It's not like it's broadcast."

Irish who was folding her hands on her chest was shocked. "Cannot be. Why not the same as the news?"

"Jack!" Irish turned to the black man sitting in the front seat.

"Yes, I'm listening. Apparently they tightened the guard by sending misinformation to the public. This way, it will not be easy to know, which system they will use for security. Mmm, this is really ingenious." The man folded his hands on his chest while propping up his chin.

"So, what do we do, Jack?"

Jack glanced at the woman. "You think Ken is smart? We let him work on it ourselves. Now we're depending on him."

The worried Irish were now staring at the monitor.

Yes, Ken was trying to open the wind hole that was underneath. He took out an automatic screw opener whose tip could be bent so that it could open the screw from the inside. The young man tried to work carefully so that the object did not fall down. Fortunately, the engine was not loud either.

As he was about to open the last corner, he held the air filter iron with his finger so that the iron did not fall down when the last screw loosened.

Ken lowered the iron down so he could see in its entirety, how things were going down below. He saw 4 guards dressed in soldiers, who surrounded the jewel but they stood behind him.

It's very risky. If he wanted to take the jewel, he had to take it carefully without making a sound. At least he should try because he got there. He couldn't have returned empty-handed or the Irish would have beaten him. Or worse, the woman won't let go.

Ken took out a wax-like adhesive and then placed the air duct cover on the outside of the pipe. Now he looks down. Hopefully I can take it without getting caught. The young man rubbed his hands using black synthetic gloves whose fingers were visible.

The young man took out a long iron from his back. The iron is placed crosswise attached to the top of the wind hole. He then put a pulley and rope there. Once firmly attached, also to his body, he slowly descended.

In the middle of the road, Ken turned his position upside down with his head down. He pressed the button and went down. Suddenly a bell rang out, making the young man shocked. He immediately pressed the button and went up.

From the front came a man in military clothes who looked high-ranking. The four guards saluted him.

The man spoke in Arabic and somehow Ken understood what he was saying. He told the four guards to rest because their guard duty ended at eleven o'clock last night. He was late to report because he had just returned from meeting the Arab king.

Ken's still hanging around waiting right under the air ducts. As the guards exited, the man turned off the headlights and turned on the moving safety light inside the large room. The lamp is accompanied by a sensor that immediately sounds when the light hits the human body.

It was fortunate that the man did not look up so the whereabouts of the young man were unknown. Ken waited until the man came out and closed the door.

Hahh .. when that was easier. Now more difficult ... the young man pursed his mouth. Good thing Irish trained me so I had a shadow, what to do.

The young man focused towards the light of the lights moving in the dark. It was actually easier to see it when it was dark than when it was light so he could quickly see the movement of the light beam as a whole. He concentrated on the light blocking from above as it was mixed with the beam from the side and then he found his rhythm. Ken's getting ready to get down.

When he decided to go down, he went down without pause and immediately took the jewel and hung it. When he pushed the button up, the rope got stuck. The pulley above won't turn. Ken, of course panic!
