Dusk In Moorea

Dusk In Moorea
HR#110

The sound of waves colliding with the coral sounded so sturdy, strong and able to give a beat in the chest of people who heard it. A pair of lovers with a Love that is getting stronger thanks to the pain for the sake of the pain they are going through are standing arm in arm staring at the blue sea off with the woman who rests her head on the shoulder of the man.

Calm. Silent. Comfortable.

The eyes of both of them closed enjoying the afternoon breeze under the orange sky of Moorea Island. Beautiful Island is the place where everything starts. Where initially laughter comes comforting then changes pain when the promise becomes just a promise. An Island that bears witness to where two hearts that nurture each other Love meets and finds their respective harbors then ends up hurting each other.

It's not that they don't put their hearts on each other anymore. Not because they no longer love each other. Circumstances. Status. Families. Three things that must separate them then bring them back in the end.

Leon smokes Arumi's fingers. At the sight of the girl's wrist that still leaves a little scratch scar due to the incision of the knife that helped cut Leon's heart at that time. Leon's face turned sad. The memory of the incident was still firmly embedded in his brain.

"Is this still sick?" ask her with her loving gentle voice. His thumb rubbed the scar gently.

Arumi shakes. "No" he answered briefly.

"I beg! Don't do anything like this again in the future, Aru! Seeing you hurt is something that'll hurt me twice as much as you hurt." Leon smelled the scar. Somewhat long. And, Arumi just silently watched.

Where is the luck that is overshadowing Arumi's life that is always full of tears? That happiness was too far for Arumi to imagine in the past. But, now? Happy it comes with a roll of waves so big. Bringing Arumi in his turmoil that makes Arumi completely washed away.

"Thank you for choosing me, Leon!" lirih Arumi who tried to stem her tears.

"It's not you who should be grateful. But I'm." Leon took the girl into his arms.

***

In the evening, Arumi awakens thanks to the ringing of a cell phone under his pillow. The girl tried to open her eyes even though it felt so heavy. Tired of not leaving just by resting for two hours. Can Arumi know when he glanced at the clock on the new nightstand shows at 1.30 am.

Come outside! Wear the dress on the table.

Arumi was immediately startled as she read the message from Leon. Soon she got out of bed and began squinting her eyes in search of the dress Leon mentioned in her message.

The girl's eyes locked onto a maroon-red box with a ribbon on it. Pretty big. It was lying sweetly on the table right next to a beautiful vase of roses. Arumi's smile expands. Stepping impatiently close to the table then opened the box above it with great curiosity.

Arumi amazement. Inside the box is a beautiful blue night dress with glitter decoration that meets the bottom complete with a matching colored heels. Without needing to be ordered, Arumi passed to the dressing room. Putting a dress that is only limited to the knee then polish a little make-up on the face of the pillow.

After dressing up, he called Leon. Unapplanted. After a few seconds, a message came back in.

Get out of the resort. You'll find a guide who will bring you to me.

The girl folded her lips. His heart pumps twice as fast. I don't know what surprise Leon was preparing for him.

As soon as he opened the resort door to exit, Arumi again made flabbergasted as well as happy when he found there were many candles along the path in front of him. A red envelope stuck in the doorknob. Arumi. Open and read the letter quickly.

Follow candle!

Arumi's smile. With a slow step, he walked along a path that was only decorated with candles. Arumi's steps came to a halt as soon as she found a photo of herself right at the turn of the road. A picture that I don't know when it was taken. The photo shows him smiling broadly.

I don't know when I started falling in love with that smile. All I know is, only that smile can keep me looking at the owner's face.

Arumi's tears shed in an instant as she read the writing below her image. Quickly he removed and stepped back. About two meters from the first photo, there is another photo. This time, his face looked sad. He bowed.

Sorry if I hurt you sometimes. For God's sake! That's not what I want. It's just that, sometimes I act a little selfish and assume a lie would be better if you stay with me.

Arumi wiped her tears again. He resumed his steps. And, there's another photo. A photo that seemed to be taken while he was in his boutique in Indonesia.

I'm sorry if I'm the cause of your pain, Aru! To be the cause of the shedding of your tears from the pair of beautiful eyes that I always longed for. However, believe! When you're hurt, my injuries are much worse than what you've suffered.

Arumi's steps swayed again. And now, he had entered a room that was also only decorated with candles. Dreary. There is a picture of him in the middle of the room with a glowing candlelight shining on him. There's writing again.

And for all the wounds I've caused. For all the crying I shed. Will you give me one chance to make up for everything? Let me punish myself by loving you forever. Allow me to pay for my mistakes by making you happy for life.

Arumi Liem's...

Will you marry me?

Arumi was unable to speak any more as the clang of the piano sounded. And at the same time, the lights lit up simultaneously illuminated the room that looked like that hall. Leon sat there. Right next to his big picture while singing a song from 'Ed Sheeran' called 'Perfect'.

I found a love for me

Darling, just dive right in

Follow my lead

Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love

Not knowing what it was

I will not give you up this time

Darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own

And in your eyes, you're holding mine

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass, we're listenin' to our favorite song

When you said you looked a mess, I whispered beneath my breath

But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonnage

Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know

She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home

I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets

Carry love, to,…

Arumi was glued to the spot. All the girl could do was cry while smothering her mouth. It's all too beautiful to be called reality. What should Arumi do to show her gratitude for being loved by a man as perfect as Leon?

She's just a woman with a dark past. Just a woman who was once considered worth nothing more than a pebble in the street. And Leon? He's someone so sparkling. Too high to be reached by a lump of worthless stone like him. However, who would have thought if the sparkle itself was approaching him. Covering it with such a beautiful glow. Holding her fragility in a light that can change everything. The worthless stone is now shining. Sharing the light with the owner is a young man who unravels brunette with a loose laugh that makes Arumi stunned for the first time.

As soon as the song finished, the young man walked slowly towards Arumi. Without saying anything, he knelt before the girl. Scooped a blue velvet box from inside the pocket of the suit he was wearing and opened it right in front of the owner of the heart.

"Aru, after everything we've been through. After all the crying and laughter we've been through. Will you continue to follow my steps and share a happy life story until the end with me? With all humility, will you marry me?"

"Yes, I will! Will!" arumi nodded with great happiness.

The diamond ring was embedded in his ring finger. Pair by a young man who is now transformed into a grown man. Arumi hugged the man as soon as she stood up. Muttering thanks repeatedly for everything Leon had sacrificed for her.

In the happy cries of the pair of lovers, the roar of applause suddenly startled them. Many people suddenly came. Duke Xander, Zack, Jonathan, Devan and Selina, Charlie and his parents, as well as Inessa. Everyone is here tonight.

"Congratulations, Son!" Jonathan hugged his daughter full of joy. He did not expect that his daughter's unfortunate fate would turn out this beautiful. Huh, if only Nancy were here. Of course the woman will also be very happy to see how happy their daughter is tonight.

"Congratulations to you!" Duke Xander is approaching. He patted Leon on the shoulder and moved to hug Arumi briefly.

"I'm sorry I doubted you! And, thank you for fulfilling my wish!" he said to Arumi.

The girl could only smile. And, Duke Xander responded with a small nod before passing from there.

No one knew that the cold flat man was crying. Her happiness is when she sees her son happy. He stepped away from there. Out to spill his scent by looking up at the starry night sky above.

Greysha! If you were here! You'll be so happy that I've managed to be a good father to our son. I managed to get Leon into his happiness. You're proud of me, aren't you?

Do I need a bonus chapter?
