"What is that, Leon?" asked Arumi who managed to intercept his father's steps who was about to go to the kitchen.
"Yes." Yeah." Jonathan nodded.
The man continued his steps towards the kitchen with Arumi trailing right behind him. Jonathan picks up a glass of drinking water while Arumi sits on the dining table chair while folding her hands together.
"What did you tell him?" ask Arumi again.
The sound of the clinking of the glass with the surface of the pantry made of black marble sounded a little loud when Jonathan put the used glass down a little hard. The middle-aged man approached his daughter. Sitting right side by side with Arumi then tightly grasped the hand of the princess.
"Dad did all this for your own good, Aru! I just don't want you to get hurt anymore. Father please! Promise me you'll forget that young man forever for Dad's sake. Promise me that you will fall back in love with a much better man and be worth it to you in the future!" please Jonathan sincerely.
"But... "
"Dad please! Do it for Daddy!" Jonathan has slumped his body. In front of the princess full of pleading.
A startled, incredulous Arumi immediately forces Jonathan to rise again. He tried to pull his father's arms together so that the man's knees would no longer touch the floor.
"Don't be like this. Stand, Father!" arumi Pinta.
Instead of complying, Jonathan lowered his head even more. "No, until you promise to fulfill my request."
Arumi closed her eyes. He could not see his father like this. However, letting go of Leon is something Arumi knows will destroy her again like she used to.
"Good! Aru promises to forget Leon from this moment on!" breaking Arumi with a trembling voice held back the pain.
Crushed. Broken. That is the condition of Arumi's heart at this time. Taking Leon for good is something he should start all over again. After all the things that some days they passed, every second felt increasingly difficult to make Arumi forget Leon just like that.
Now, every trace of it must be removed again. Trying to tread the thorny path on his own without Leon again. If that is what satisfies Jonathan, then Arumi will try to do even though he knows it is impossible for him to do.
"I'm sorry, Dad! Dan, thank you." Jonathan scatters into Arumi who can only stare blankly. The girl's life seemed to float in a matter of seconds. Tears are not shed anymore. He's numb.
"Dad knows this is heavy for you! But, I just don't want you to be much more hurt if that young man's parents are against your relationship. I don't want you to be embarrassed again, son!" jonathan said softly as he tightened his embrace on the frail body of the princess.
"Dad, hope you understand!"
The girl could only be silent. Everything Jonathan said has a point. He would be much more hurt if Duke Xander refused again. Leon could have lied by saying that Duke Xander had approved of them. A man as hard as a stone is impossible to give his blessing just like that. In fact, it could have been Leon's arrival to Indonesia also because the young man ran away from his father. Yep. That's just possible. Leon did it once. In fact, often. And, now, of course it's not surprising that Leon does it again.
The next day, Leon came back. This time, it was Arum who opened the door instead of Jonathan. The young man's smile came up. With an airy heart, he hugged his Asian girl tightly. Pecked several times the tops of the head and cheeks of the girl.
"I'm glad to see you're okay, Aru!" Leon hugged Arumi again.
"I missed you!" continued again.
"Take me off!" said Arumi flat.
"What did you say?" asked Leon who felt wrong to listen.
"Take me off, Mr.Wellington!" arumi repeated her orders.
Leon's heart was like in the words when Arumi called it a formal name. The brunette man knew that something had happened.
With a heavy heart, Leon does what Arumi tells him to do. He let go of his embrace and took two steps back with a torn feeling.
"This time, let alone my fault?" he asked in a low voice full of pain.
"Nothing." Arumi answered without seeing Leon's face. For anything! He was just as devastated as Leon.
"I want you to let me go forever!" Arumi's eyes were tightly closed. His heart was sliced with a pain that was so painful. He wanted to scream to spill the pain but Leon was still standing in front of him. The young man also felt the same pain as him.
"No. I don't want to!" batten Leon hard. He's upset. He's pissed. He felt like he had failed again. What harm? He has been fighting all this time. However, why is the result always not in accordance with the expectations he wants?
"My father has blessed us, Aru! We can be together now!" he continued with the remnants of hope that he was still trying to gather.
"I can't believe it!" snapped Arumi. "You lied to me! What's the guarantee if you don't do it now?"
Leon's speechless. For a split second his brain stopped thinking.
"I'll call Daddy now if you don't believe me!" The young man hurriedly pulled out his phone. Look around for Duke Xander's name on the flat screen and contact his father.
In her heart, Arumi prayed that all of that would be true. May Duke Xander really accept it and make Jonathan finally believe. However, until the fourth call, the call did not go up.
"Daddy must be sleeping right now. You know the time difference between Jakarta and Paris right?" Leon tried to laugh even though his fingers had been shaking violently from earlier.
"I'm gonna call Ronald and ask him to bring his cell phone to Daddy!" leon was not desperate.
Arumi sighed. This is the end of his story with Leon.
"Our story ends here, Leon! Go then! Forget me! We may have been born and destined to meet and love each other. But, we're both unfortunately not destined for a match."
"No. Don't talk like that! I can't stay away from you, Aru! Please!" Leon's tears had already drenched the young man's cheeks. It was destroyed in a single attack by the woman in front of him. Leon lunglai's. He falls in front of Arumi.
"If you love me, go home! Let's just say I'm just part of your nightmare that will disappear as soon as you wake up in your bed!"
"I don't want to, Aru!" leon was angry.
Arumi jerks. The girl was crying. Leon's much more angry speech sounded like a desperate roar plowing down on Arumi so deeply. Sick, sick and sick. Again, that's all it feels.
"You still want to see me alive, don't you?" asked Arumi coldly.
Leon looked up. Staring at Arumi with a questioning look. In the next instant, the man's eyes rounded. In Arumi's hand was a knife that the girl had gotten out of nowhere.
"Don't do it, Aru!" Leon shook his head hard. The knife Arumi had placed on the vein of his left wrist. The girl prepared to slash her own hands.
"Please promise me you'll forget me and come back to your country!" Arumi's voice was shaking. His eyes radiate earnestness. Both of her pink lips were perfect.
"Ir..."
TESS!!
Blood dripped from Arumi's wrist. Leon who saw it was a shock not a play. With the rest of his consciousness as well as strength still present, he stood up. Opening the burgundy shirt he was wearing then tearing it and tying it to Arumi's wrist.
"Are you crazy?" leon shouted furiously.
