Regretting

Today was the most dreadful day of Rian's life. He felt that his life wanted to end at that moment. Rian didn't even want to go to college. For the first time Rian had to miss his college schedule.

"What am I supposed to tell Papa?" rian murmuring.

Several times Rian walked around his room. He could not find the answer to his own question.

"What do I say?" muttered Rian again.

The question repeatedly turned around in his head. Rian was really frustrated and gave up. He resigned if all his hopes ended at that time.

The ringing of the phone made Rian open the palm of the hand that had covered his face since.

"Riri?" ask Rian.

Doubtfully Rian answered Riri's call.

"Mas Rian is sick?" ask Riri when the call is connected.

"Ti-no," replied Rian nervously.

Rian still doesn't believe that Riri contacted him at the right time.

"Mas why? How nervous. Like a bachelor child who wants to kabul in front of the penghulu only," said Riri with a laugh.

Rian tensed. Hearing Riri's joke, he did not feel like laughing at all. Even Rian felt his heart stop. He imagined that he really should marry Maudi.

"Mas, Mas, hello," Riri said as Rian did not respond to her joke.

Rian immediately ends his call with Riri and turns off his phone. He doesn't want to communicate with anyone for now.

Rian enjoyed his anxiety all day until he felt tired himself and fell asleep. He didn't even know Mr. Felix had come home and met him in his room.

"He's not going to college?" muttered Mr. Felix.

Seeing that Rian had fallen asleep very fast, Mr. Felix did not wake Rian. He decided to take a shower and change his clothes.

Realizing Rian was still not awake, Mr. Felix immediately returned to Rian's room. He approached Rian who was sleeping. Just as his hand was about to touch Rian's back, Mr. Felix saw a sleeping pill on the nightstand.

"Rian, Rian, get up!" said Mr. Felix while shaking Rian's body.

Mr. Felix several times called out and shook Rian's body. The moment Rian opened his eyes, Mr. Felix immediately resuscitated Rian.

"Rian, it's Papa. What's going on?" asked Mr. Felix while shaking Rian's body again.

"Hemmm," Rian replied as he closed his eyes again.

"Rian's awake! Rian," said Mr. Felix who again shook Rian's body.

Rian wriggled and slowly opened his eyes. His eyes were heavy, but he tried hard.

"Rian, what are you doing?" ask Mr. Felix.

Rian did not answer. He still gathered his consciousness. While Mr. Felix kept shaking Rian's body many times. Until Rian finally realized.

"Rian, what's wrong with you? Why did you take sleeping pills like this?" ask Mr. Felix.

"Bah, I'm fine. I'm just dizzy" said Rian.

"It's a sleeping pill. Not a headache cure" said Mr. Felix.

"Many tasks unfinished. I'm just dizzy, Pah," said Rian.

"Mandy! Papa wait for you in the dining room" said Mr. Felix.

"Yes Pah" replied Rian.

Rian immediately got up and took a shower. He was completely conscious under the water.

"Well," said Rian when he met Mr. Felix.

"Sit down!" said Mr. Felix ketus.

"Sorry Pah. I just need to rest" said Rian.

"It's not like this Rian. Papa asked you to tell me a story. What's up?" ask Mr. Felix again.

"I'm confused where to start" said Rian.

"Are you on campus today?" ask Mr. Felix.

"No Pah," Rian replied as he shook his head.

"Why?" ask Mr. Felix.

"I'm not focused" replied Rian.

"It's only today" replied Rian.

Rian still looked down. He did not dare look at Mr. Felix. From his cold tone, he knew that Mr. Felix was very angry with him.

"Because Riri?" ask Mr. Felix.

"Not Pah" replied Rian.

"Didn't you?" ask Mr. Felix.

Rian shook his head.

"Is it because of that woman again?" ask Mr. Felix.

Rian held back his chest tightness. He knew the woman Mr. Felix was referring to was Maudi. I really want him to explain everything. But he was confused as to what the way of delivery. He was even afraid that Mr. Felix would not believe him.

"Well, does Papa believe me?" ask Rian.

"About what?" ask Mr. Felix.

"Papa believe that I can't possibly demean women?" ask Mr. Felix.

"Papa taught you good things even though Papa wasn't a good person. Papa believes you will grow up to be a good boy" Felix said.

"Maudi demanded that I marry her" Rian said, looking down.

"You impregnated her?" ask Mr. Felix.

"No. Not at all. I'm just stuck" replied Rian.

"What do you mean trapped? Did you not realize while doing that rotten thing?" ask Mr. Felix.

"Not Pah, is that not so." Rian immediately recounted all the events he had experienced back then.

"You fool! Why did you sign the letter?" ask Mr. Felix.

This time Mr. Felix's tone of voice had already risen. Rian grew increasingly fearful and did not dare to look Mr. Felix in the face.

"I know I was wrong. But this is already done. Please help me Pah. I don't want to marry Maudi. For God's sake I didn't do any of that" Rian said.

Rian also told about the arrival of Maudi and his father.

Mr. Felix kicked the table. This made Rian even more afraid. But he resigned because this was a risk that he had to accept.

"What is the guarantee that you don't do all that?" ask Mr. Felix.

"I don't have any proof. But I'd be willing to die this very second until I lie to Papa" replied Rian.

"I can't believe that you can be that stupid Rian. I didn't understand what was in your head at the time" said Mr. Felix, throwing his face away.

"Bah, I know I'm stupid. I'm mistaken. But I only have until tomorrow" Rian said.

"Didn't you want to marry that woman? Maybe this is the answer to every hope you have" Tun Felix said cynically.

"No Pah. After that incident I never wanted Maudi again. He has betrayed me" said Rian.

"Papa said, stay away from that woman! Why is it so hard to forget him?" said Mr. Felix.

"Bah, I was wrong. I'm mistaken. But please help me! I don't want to marry Maudi. My dream is still very long" Rian said.

Rian knelt down and pleaded at Mr. Felix's feet. He hopes Tun Felix can help him. Only Mr. Felix is Rian's hope at the moment. Rian's fear was really felt by Mr. Felix. Seeing Rian like that, Mr. Felix collapsed.

"Wake up!" said Mr. Felix.

Mr. Felix himself felt unsure if he could help Rian. Maudi has strong evidence. In addition, Maudi miscarried. Nothing can be proven because there is no baby in Maudi's stomach.

"Bah, I'm scared." Rian looks full of weight.

"Rian, sleep. Rest up! You're already tired. Do you have a schedule tomorrow?" ask Mr. Felix.

Rian nodded. "I have a morning schedule, Pah."

"Go to campus. The longer you don't go in, the more material you have left." Mr. Felix tried to divert the conversation.

"But Maudi's father asked me and Papa to go there" Rian said.

Rian's heart aches to see how Mr. Felix defends him. He truly felt such genuine affection for her.
