Rainwater has been pouring down on the land of City B since a day ago. The sound of rain stubs as if like the rhythm of a waterfall that can be used as a bedtime. The spaces in the 2-story house feel quiet where the residents are cool asleep diving into the dream realm.
Dimas' fine snores filled Ara's navy blue room under a roll of thick blankets leaving Ara who had fallen asleep curled up on the fur carpet with Yuki. As if he was the ruler all day, Dimas monopolized Ara's queen-size mattress.
Dimas and Yuki are forced to hitchhike in Ara's room. Although his initial plan was only to take shelter after his second failed hunt and ask Mama Lauritz for a free cup of hot chocolate and coffee. But everything changes when Ara yells at the two to enter Ara's room for the first time. Ara was lazy to welcome the arrival of the other children of her parents, even Ara was really lazy just to step foot open the door of the room.
The skin of the forehead is wrinkled and moving restlessly Ara is getting a nightmare. In the dreamland Ara no longer a knight in armor riding a dragon carrying a basket of daisy flowers that come approaching. Replacing the memory of Ara's conversation with Mama Lauritz and Papa Yudith that made Ara upset for hours and then perfectly contained as a film cassette that was played back in the dark world of Ara.
The Flashback
On the connecting terrace of the garden behind the two-story house of Papa Yudith, Mama Lauritz and Ara sat enjoying the natural water droplets that fell free from the sky. The cool atmosphere greeting the morning Ara was not as calm as the eyes of his parents.
"Sister.. You want to tell me something, but don't get mad right away?" Papa Yudith suddenly said. Allowing her face to look at Papa and her Mama, Ara seemed to want to know the core of the problem.
"When we looked at Grandma first your Grandpa had asked Brother to come home to help the plantation business have Grandpa, Brother want??" Ask Papa Yudith subtly.
"No!! They are nothing Ara. They're Mama's parents, so there's no business with Ara."
"But they were also Grandpa and Grandma made Ara." This time Mama Lauritz spoke with her own eyes to express her disappointment. Honestly, it made Ara feel guilty, but as hard as Ara tried to reject as if she did not care.
"Sister should try to apologize Grandpa with Grandma huh.. Try Brother Shadow if later Brother has children and his son Brother does not want to admit Papa with Mama's Grandpa their Grandmother, is Brother not sad?"
"They won't go to Mama Papa. They are not discarded Ara and Papa just as Mama will not be evil as her own grandchildren. Different Ma man is the same as the devil." Said Ara grumbling, her hands clenched against the floor where she was sitting.
"No, no, no.. No matter where they are, we are family. Mom and Dad wouldn't be great without parents, you know??"
"Or." Answer Ara briefly. Ara's ears are closed transparent plugs so that there is no persuasive sound that is able to touch the eardrum.
"Wherever parents act, they still have the same affection for each child. So Papa beg Kak, learn ya sorryin all for the sake of Brother himself. It will be a burden if you have not forgiven everyone's mistakes. Although until the death to pick up no words of apology said, but there is no harm in Brother who berlapang chest forgive first." Sighing deeply, Papa Yudith ended his words in a single breath.
"If it is still difficult for Brother to apologize for many bad things that Brother has received, try to at least remember a few good things to learn sincerely."
"Pa, I know from the baby even Papa is not given breast milk with Papa's own mother and care for Oma Julia. All of Oma told Ara before Oma died. So there's nothing good that Ara can be proud of other than her sacrificing her life to give birth to Papa." Ara ketus. Ara did not refer to her as a 'grandmother', but rather just a 'Mother' of her Papa. While the figure of Oma Julia for Ara is actually just a cousin of Ida, the birth mother of Papa Yudith.
Truly a disobedient child Ara by not speaking polite and meek words to both parents. But what else must be said when the emotions have ignited all kinds of sentences that Ara wants to throw.
"Now Papa asks again, Brother really does not want to accept Grandpa Baren's request??" Papa Yudith asked seriously at Ara who was immediately answered with a nod.
"You want what the hell are they Ma!!???"
"Why should it be disturbed again!!?? I am happy to live without them!!" Lies. Ara was still tormented by the gloomy memories of her childhood. The bond that wrapped around continued to grow like a tree root that ensnared Ara's body until it brought Ara deeper and deeper into the ground, buried with her pain.
"When little Ara was never considered, now you can design your own future why just wanted!!??" Ara's hoarse voice restrained the turmoil of anger and the sense of being sliced in her heart. Arriving in the arms of Mama Lauritz, Ara began to hiccup. A gentle swipe on the back normalizes the roar of Ara's hunting breath.
Unable to answer the questions of the poignant little girl who had grown up, Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz were still equally choked. Both are confused about how to give understanding to Ara. It is not a family like this that both want to treat their three children.
The feeling of tightness, pain and smell as well as Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz often felt when he saw the laughter between others with his granddaughter. It crossed both minds why his son could not feel the affection of Grandpa and Grandma like other children. Is the path of poverty the choice of Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz so that his children are also set aside?
"Is it good to breathe, brother??" Mama Lauritz asked Ara. A small nod in the increasingly tightening decapitation as if not wanting to escape for a second.
There was still another heavy burden to be told to Ara. As if never ending his son's suffering, Papa Yudith felt that he had failed to become a head of the family and a protective figure for Ara who would always be a little princess in the eyes of Papa Yudith.
"Sister, in 3 days Papa will hand over the workshop to Gilang. Jona's with Rian while also going to sleep in Gilang's contract." Pausing his words for a moment, Papa Yudith observed the change in Ara's countenance.
"Why??" Tanya Ara who was still hugging Mama Lauritz's waist was possessive. Ara's eyes narrowed in search of the source of what other problems she would face.
"We're going back to K. To your Grandma's place." Papa Yudith's words jolted Ara's surprise until the hug on Mama Lauritz came off.
The forehead shrinks and the protrusion of veins in the temple of Ara clearly shows many question marks. Staring at the sharp eyes of his parents, Ara was still silent by implying the question word 'why?' from the look on his face.
"Granny Mira's health is declining again.. Last night I had to be taken to the hospital again."
"What do we have to do with it?? His family is there, Pa!!"
"Can't do it, brother!! We're family too, it's your own Mama's parents."
Between Papa Yudith and Ara, there was Mama Lauritz who had held a puddle of water in the eye. His family was completely destroyed before his eyes. As strong as the energy of the happy family model has tried to realize Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz, but the whole family still cannot be given.
There seemed to be no affection left on Ara, while Jona and Rian clearly never felt that they would be more indifferent.
"It's up to Mama Papa if you want to go there again. Better at home. Let Jona be with Rian in Ara's same house, don't bother Bang Gilang."
"There's something else you should know, brother." Papa Yudith's heavy breathing again made Ara alert.
"Grandpa Baren wants to mate with Brother and Sister-in-law of your cousin's sister-in-law." Papa Yudith bowed after she finished saying another sentence that surprised Ara.
"Ap-What?? Matchmade?? NO BRAINS!!" Ara ketus. Standing glaring sharply, Ara passed away leaving Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz.
Exhaling his chest slowly, Papa Yudith and Mama Lauritz were both surprised by Ara's attitude. While Ara who was filled with anger slammed the door of her room.

"Ara!?"
"Ra?"
"Have Ra??" Asked Dimas who looked worried.
"Why??" Frowning astonished Ara at Dimas's question.
"Sit down and drink Ra!" A glass of water was already in Dimas' hands. Ara watched around, her position was still the same and Yuki was still quietly curled up in the cold. The difference is that Ara's clothes are wet, cold sweat seems to be pouring on Ara's body.
"Night you have a nightmare??" Asked Dimas who was already sitting on the edge of Ara's bed. It seems that Dimas had been up long enough, as evidenced by Ara's blanket that had folded neatly and a glass of water that Ara was pushing in soaking his throat.
"Not." Denying Ara, whether it was a nightmare or not that had just been twisted in her memory.
"Ck!! Don't lie Ra, you sleep so restlessly that cold sweat." Peeking annoyed Dimas did not believe in the short rebuttal Ara gave.
"Hm." Berdehem Ara responded to Dimas' words.
"It seems to have stopped raining, to the balcony of Yuk Ra." Said Dimas while opening the balcony door of Ara's room. The cold air pierced Ara's skin as the door opened wide along with Yuki's increasingly tightening the blanket Ara placed covering Yuki's body.
"What if you were told to marry a stranger??" Ask Ara on Dimas. The two of them were already sitting looking at the wet asphalt of the road.
"The same one I know is still thinking. What's crazy about being married to a stranger??" Dimas's remarks are true, if you know you have not determined your desire to build a family commitment, especially if you do not know him. Ara was also sure that surely the matchmaking style of her parents' family would not be far from the base because of the treasure.
"Why??" Dimas looked at Ara who seemed to be in a state of confusion with his thoughts, "You were told to marry?? If you don't want to refuse."
It is easy if it is only spoken. Ara also knew that she would eventually reject arranged marriages, but the burden was not to worsen the condition of Grandma Mira. In the corner of Ara's small heart still stored his affection even though he closed as much as possible with his rude attitude. Not to mention the double burden that Ara shouldered the fear of hurting Mama Lauritz. It's very clear Ara's rude and harsh attitude to Mama Lauritz's biological parents will also be involved in incising the wound in Mama Lauritz's heart.
"If later still forced marriage, mending we marry together only Ra." The brainless solution just came from Dimas who was lucky to look blankly at the streets.
"Don't be weird. Our brain is the same about marriage, 2 humans who have the same thoughts are not necessarily able to fit and complement each other. If we do not believe in the same commitment, how will we move forward with our family life later??" Sneaky. Turning her eyeballs lazily Ara turned her face away from Dimas.
"Ciyee's.. I call my family.. Can't wait for your name to be under my name on a piece of paper??" Tempt Dimas on Ara by playing both eyebrows up and down.
Bugh
"Duh CRD!!"
"Udahlah!! So how's your mom?? Meet you??"
"Goddess.. Switching conversations. Ciye.. Afraid of salting, Mommy??"
"I hit again!!?" Said Ara ketus, glaring sharply at Dimas with her clenched right hand raised.
"For Mother.." Cupping both palms, Dimas pretended to be merciful. "Ehh.. You're younger than Ra, why do you want to be Ma'am??"
"Your mouth calls me Ma'am!!" Again Ara rolled her eyes panted. Ara threw a small punch that actually made Dimas laugh out loud.
"Bec.." Yuki's hoarse voice stopped Ara's torture scene on Dimas.
"Here is my mother. So get up don't be like a sloth." Dimas' speech made Yuki's eyelids instantly open wide.
"Hey exhaust bajai diem yes!" Yuki's chirps quickly snatched away Dimas's ridiculing sentence. It was his destiny for Ara to become a railroad cross so that there would be no fatal collision between Dimas and Yuki.
"Let's.. Sorry weee!!" Shouted Dimas loudly begging for forgiveness from Ara and Yuki's tickling. The two compactly want to torture the annoying Dimas, until the loud sound of Ara's phone surprises the three. Of course, the immediate relief Dimas felt when his waist, armpits and neck were not mass-fed by Ara and Yuki.
"Udah died Ra." Holding Ara's phone, Yuki who was willing to move grabbed Ara's phone handed the flat object to Ara's palm.
"The Bima." Lowering her eyebrows, Yuki was ready to launch her next temptation.
"So choose Mr Kim or Bang Bima Ra?? The young are seductive, but the old are more challenging.. Yumoo!!" The sound flowed like a dangdut singer, Dimas swayed as if he was singing in delivering a sentence full of ridicule to Ara.
"Diem to Dim!! I threw it from the 2nd floor directly if it's still a bacot!!"
"Dam!! Ara can say bacot now Dim. Ahaha.." Yuki's laughter added badly to Ara's annoyance.
