Aara is Not Lara

Aara is Not Lara
Rainbow After the Storm

“This is from Grandma.” Sliding a small folded sheet of paper, Ega said softly while staring at the paper that was still under his right fingers.

“Message you wrote before you left for Papa.. Ega just want to give this.” Ega continued to say while staring at the widened pair of pupils of Papa Yudith's eyes.

Surprised? Papa Yudith was surprised. His brain twisted, guessing everything that might be written.

Grabbing the paper doubtfully, Papa Yudith could see there were traces of squeezes. For a moment it seemed as if it was not spinning. The two fell silent until finally Papa Yudith began to open the fold of paper which apparently there was also a tear on one side of the edge.

'Yudith, 'Yudith,

Forgive Mama who has not apologized to you directly. Thank you for being the best husband for your child who likes to act like it. Lauritz is stubborn, but he's a fragile boy. All wrong Mama who has been lacking attention with Lauritz.

Sorry for sacrificing you and Lauritz for Laura's problems. Sorry for wanting to exchange your pride and sacrifice for money. Mama and Papa just want his son to have a better future so that we are not aware of our wrong ways. So did we want to match Ara with Eric. But again we were wrong.

Sorry also because Mama is not a good Grandma to Ara, Jona and Rian. Please bring your grandchildren closer to your Papa. Forgive her attitude that has hurt your little family.

Please convey your apology to the children and grandchildren who have been wasted all this time. Forgive Mama who was one of the causes of Ara's suffering so far. Instead of accompanying and pampering Ara in her childhood, we parents actually gave wounds. Mama and Papa never thought we would give such a deep wound to Ara, because of the ego we were reluctant to lower.

If your family still can't accept Lauritz, please let your children know them from afar. Don't cover them, but don't force them to come any closer. Mama was afraid that what happened to Ara would happen again.

Mama also tipped Ega. Laura is not a good mother. Mama is also afraid that the affection and material that the Aryan family gives actually plunges Ega. Do not let the story of both parents repeat again in Ega. Forgive Mama who until the end of life seems to always trouble you.'

Pain, Papa Yudith's chest as if tight hit by hardened air. Like a beautiful rainbow painted in the sky after a storm that can not be achieved, such is the happiness of a little word ‘maaf’ contained.

Not the apology that Papa Yudith had hoped for, but the meaning that he had been accepted as a husband and father for his own small family. No matter only he knows, all is valuable enough when the wife's own parents who finally want to accept his presence.

As if a weight on his shoulder was lifted, Papa Yudith sobbed silently. Her eyes were teary and in her heart she gave thanks repeatedly. Although all happiness is clearly felt differently because of mixed grief.

"You want to come with Papa?" Papa Yudith suddenly asked Ega after keeping a paper containing a heartwarming message into his pants pocket.

“Sorry, Pa.. I can't go with Papa now. Do you know that your family is busy educating Ega to be a great successor? Ega must be the pride of everyone first.”

“Do not force yourself to be the pride of many people, just be proud of yourself. Go home to City B if you need a place to rest when you are tired, there is your home. Home where there are Papa, Mama and your sisters.” Said Papa Yudith while patting slowly on Ega's declining shoulder.

Ega's head bowed with eyes closed dispelling tears. The slow claps that Papa Yudith gave successfully warmed the hearts of Ega who began to cool down.

‘If Ega does not owe a life with Father and Mother, can Ega be a son of Papa and Mama?’ Ega's sad gaze was centered on the tip of his right thumb pressing on the inside of the left ring finger from the twisting fingers.

...----------------...

On a clear morning, when the sun and the sky were smiling and greeting cheerfully the tears of loss, Ara again chose to step aside. Although a strange look he must get from many pairs of foreign eyes. Ara crossed her arms, hiding behind the trees that were located a few meters from where Mama Lauritz was gathered to cry.

Despite the desire to hug Mama Lauritz, Ara did not want the sadness that seemed to be present late was free. He also wanted to give time to Mama Lauritz to let go of loved ones who had been forced to leave.

Ara secretly blamed herself. Consciously or not, Ara believes the decision that Mama Lauritz and Papa Yudith have taken to step aside is also for her own good.

“Sad brother?”

“Mas why come here?” Furrowing her forehead with her right eyebrow raised, Ara was aghast at the presence of Jona who was already beside her. He did not see much less hear Jona's approaching steps.

“Because Sister is here.” Answer Jona briefly.

“Sad brother?” Glancing at Ara at a glance, Jona spoke again, but this time she repeated a question that Ara had not answered before.

“No, you?”

“Jona is not sad either. They're all too foreign to Jona.” Sighing heavily, Jona also shook her head slowly. Jona's eyes were blank. There is a void that Ara is unable to define.

“It looks like it's done.” Jona said with her eyelids slightly widened, clearly illustrated by the look of relief from her face.

“Rian here.!” Call Jona to the Sister who is walking towards her in the embrace of Ega.

“Papa have ordered for you to go home with Mas.” Ega said to his three cousins.

“We go home first. Mama still needs time there.” Ega said again as he turned his body towards the wet mound of fresh and flower-studded soil. There was Papa Yudith who faithfully rubbed Mama Lauritz's back that shook violently as it continued to sob, shedding tears that refused to dry up.

“A..”

“Ara.” Just now Ara wanted to say ‘ayo’, but a familiar voice interrupted. Calling himself gently along with the clattering of footsteps approached.

“Bang.. Mm.. Eric?”

“Ck! Miss aja.” Clucked with a twisting eyeball, Gilang wanted to flick Ara's forehead.

“Kan this is not in City B. Kirain had to change her nickname to Eric.” Kili Ara relaxed while observing Gilang for a moment.

“Mas first to car. You quickly followed. First yes.” Ega's words to Ara ended up circulating her chin at a glance aimed at Gilang.

“Sip.. Careful.” Reply Gilang with a smile and raise his right hand short to the shoulder.

“Neach motor or car?” Ara suddenly asked Gilang.

“Motor, why?” Reply with the feeling of starting to feel bad.

“Shortly yes.” Passing away leaving Gilang full of confusion, Ara ran small towards the car where Ega had been waiting. Even the car's engine instantly lit up as Ara twisted her body and ran over.
